It really doesn’t matter. While we try to be mindful of the lurkers I write for you guys and really don’t give a s~~~ about what anyone thinks.
I like the star system because it heads me in the right direction in terms of the what type of things you guys are interested in and the quality of my posts. I strive for to do a good job with my posts I want to know my audience.
When I made my first post I explicitly asked to not be personally attacked. It’s not that you guys are aggressive it’s just that I have thin skin. I bet some newby posters feel the same way.
It’s like going to a strange pub. You have to get the vibe before you open your mouth.
#icethemout; Remember Thomas Ball. He died for your children.
Ever the pedant, I opined that a huge number of member accounts were made by people who never intended to participate and are only here to watch or, more ominously, monitor our conversations.
Thanks for following up OldBill. I still intend to post a synopsis of the thread but had no intentions of trying to link it and make it more relevant. Thanks as always for you clear strategic vision.
How many accounts are real? What’s if there’s only 40 of us?
By my rough accounting, there seem to be 240-270 active members who routinely post on the MGTOW forums. This 1% value is very, very consistent with current research regarding active members on Social Media sites.

A great purge is in order.

Anonymous54The 1% that post, cycle through. Im guessing the average poster hangs around for a few months, then noves on.
So take the current amount and multiply it.
Many may have security concerns, others just not confident in their writeing. There are many of us.
Many.Thank You Very much Bill for alerting the men on here to be more careful! great 👍 Topic. Now I don’t want to sound paranoid so I want to express my confidence in the quality of the men of MGTOW.com that makes up the core of the forums and their ability to rise to the occasion! When a tuna attacks the men kick it out! a troll shows up, the Same! and the more they do it the more the members will adapt and become better at sniffing out the impostors!
Again Thank you.
You must own a better Crystal ball than IWhen I made my first post I explicitly asked to not be personally attacked. It’s not that you guys are aggressive it’s just that I have thin skin. I bet some newby posters feel the same way.
Spot On
This was mentioned by several members last week, as well as members who were not confident in their grammar or communication skills."My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." - Clarence Buddinton Kelland

Anonymous0That being said, some members do face hurdles. English is a second language for some, although nearly every one writes in English very well and sometimes better than some native English speakers, I should add.
Oldbill, I’m one of those Non-English speakers. I learned to speak English by watching YouTube videos and Hollywood movies! But I never been taught to write/speak English properly in school. In India, where I live, English is second language and people give a weird look if you’re watching English videos (Except for porn, of course).
I’ve been reading the posts here for the past 6 months and I must say my English improvised a lot. Now I can write and think in English faster than before. But still I barely know the spelling of many words (thanks to Word processors). Before coming here it took me nearly 45 mins to write a small paragraph. Now I can do it in less than 20 mins. Also my typing speed and grammars improved. I’m reading and learning more and more everyday.
Every time I write a post here, I put all my effort to make it look as good as possible and guess what? It’s working for me so far. Thank you.

Anonymous11Hey, I’m no slouch, I’ve been here 4 months and have 1/3 of your punts lol.
I really care not about how many punts I have though it is fun getting them. Enjoy, Tower needs some heat on his ass in that department.
OldBill,
Thanks for addressing this issue. I haven’t really considered the 99% non-participation rate before.
I personally know 5 guys I’ve counseled this year who joined MGTOW. These guys read the articles but don’t post. I asked a few of the guys why they didn’t post and all of them said they didn’t know enough yet. And these are well-educated guys most having post graduate degrees. Go figure. The website does change lives.
I’m still not adept at detecting trolls. I’m glad I missed the Peter Pan ordeal.
I do hope we can keep the forum free of violence so as to avoid the hassle of being labeled a hate group.
Thanks OldBill.
Anonymous54Dyslexic.
Doin my best , beleive it or not.A great purge is in order.
I think would be helpful, something along the lines I suggested earlier with “No posts since X of joining” and “No posts since X of last post”.
I don’t know how easy such a purge could be handled and I do know there’s a certain amount of pride in the membership count here, despite the fact that 99% of them never post.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

Nobody likes to throw out stuff, but occasionally one has to conduct a “spring cleaning”.

Anonymous8Thank you, brother, for explaining in one anecdote what I could only partially do in hundreds of words.
Your post sparked that memory, so you can take half the credit.
When I made my first post I explicitly asked to not be personally attacked. It’s not that you guys are aggressive it’s just that I have thin skin. I bet some newby posters feel the same way.
I can relate to that, it’s important to differentiate between an attack on one’s ideas and a personal attack. They can easily be misinterpreted, a lot of members including myself have strong opinions on certain topics, so while some may strike with a heavy hand it should not be taken personally. Not to say there has never been a personal attack, which I do not condone, disagreeing is one thing, debating is another, but petty squabbling can be left on the rest of the internet as far as I’m concerned.
You do have the knack, Tower. It’s good that you preemptively can snipe them.
Tower going Randy Johnson on them, no pun intended.

I asked a few of the guys why they didn’t post and all of them said they didn’t know enough yet.
That’s completely understandable. I read the site for a few years before joining because I wanted to see if the site would last and whether participation would be worth my time.
The important thing to take away from that sentence is the fact that I read the site without joining. I didn’t join only to lurk for years or join only to decide not to participate and leave for good.
You can read this site, albeit on a time delay and with certain words censored, without ever joining. That makes the 99% lurking rate all the more odd, although, as Greg notes, that number does track with active participation rates for other social media sites.

Watch out for new posters who advocate turning MGTOW into a membership organisation or who advocate violence.
Yeah, we really need to watch ourselves here. Inciting violence on a public forum is illegal. If they’re going to come at us, that’s one sure way of doing it, by claiming that we incite violence…
I have mixed feelings about the purge of inactive members.
I personally know guys who are members but don’t post. These silent guys still derive benefit from the website.
I would favor purging inactive members who don’t visit the website. I personally wouldn’t purge inactive members who do visit the website.
Just my personal opinion.
Thanks.

Those f~~~ers get punted with extreme prejudice in the bat of an eye. They’re the easiest to bag.
These jack wagons want us to be paranoid. Do not play into their hands.

That’s a very good point and something along the lines of “Hasn’t logged in for X” would be a good litmus test for any potential “purge”.

MGTOW teaching men the intricacies of the English language since 2016, top that!!!

Anonymous11Purges are not something one does casually.
So we purge, what’s to stop Peter Pan and friends from opening new zombie accounts?
I want Peter Pan reading me. So PP, how many feticide procedures have you undergone?
