Some veteran MGTOW can be quite intimidating to the new guys (myself included) when they express their views on matters they have thought about for a considerable time with significant vehemence. This can be uncomfortable to the newcomer who is learning what it means to Go Their Own Way and may not have the confidence to express their view for which they don’t feel “qualified” to provide an opinion.
The knowledge and support given by the veteran chaps is invaluable and greatly appreciated but understanding of the issues can take time to sink in and newer chaps (again, myself included) may sometimes have second thoughts about posting on certain issues.
Absolutely spot on. Experience and exposure are critical to any “organization or group” to ensure for the education and success of new members. This same experience and exposure can become a significant liability to all when those members forget about civility, manners and the fact that they are not new members. If you have never asked a specific question, it is new to you. A fact that is often forgotten at times.
Remember it is not about you…It is about being free from the plantation and some members will give it to you straight…No sugar coating but the plain truth..
It is alright to go by myself without having to consider anyone else….
Spot on and I am sure that you go your own way knowing that you have MGTOW.com ready to offer support and assistance as needed.

I remind everyone again that the lurkers you’re all concerned about do not exist in the numbers you wish to believe.
The vast majority of the 99% “silent” accounts are actually orphaned memberships. People signed up, looked around, decided the site wasn’t or them, and left permanently.
They aren’t lurking, they aren’t content with only reading, and they aren’t checking in every week or so. They are gone and they will never return.
The only reason those accounts still exist is because the site does not have an easy way to allow people to close their accounts.
Check OldBill. I would be the last to suggest that any quantitative analysis be made of the membership level. After all, McDonald’s has served how many Billion’s without ever providing research.
That approximately 26,000 accounts have been made is impressive enough if considered for marketing purposes. Thanks as always for your clarity and attention to detail.
Affirmative. It makes one realize how special the group of active members really is – like a true brotherhood.
Exactly. All the more reason for civility and patience on the forum. Poor or misguided communication affects both the active, non-active and external site members.
Yep, this old dog has learned numerous new tricks from this thread. Thanks to all who have posted to date.

I joined mainly to support the site.
Don’t care to reiterate why I don’t bother with chicks.
Site only works on my phone.
To have less than 1% participation seems rather odd, especially since this is one of the few places MGTOW’s can get away from the blue pill world, and interact with like minded bro’s.
I started this thread in the hopes of finding an explanation as to why more members did not become active to find their answers, only to become aware of the much greater purpose, good and bad, that MGTOW.com serves.
Some might only need to visit here 10 times to internalize this new take on life.
Correct. I remember a military analogy. Marines see the objective, take the objective and move on to the next objective. The Army then holds that objective until relieved.
Life constantly moves and ensures that humanity moves and evolves as well. Yet another obvious point that has been showcased in this thread. The synopsis on this thread will contain many wonderful, probably obvious, points for others whom might ponder membership and such.

As this forum is highly US-centric,
The scenario is bad in US and much of western Europe, but is better (or worse!) in other parts of the world, with women in other ages, other cultures, different IQ levels etc.
Given the US acceptance of websites and social media interaction, this was one reason that I found it very strange that more members were not active. I get the twitter analogy, you can retweet but not interact with the originator of the tweet. If for no other reason, being able to speak with the author/originator is an ego trip.
Replicating this on a world stage is huge, especially from some who left H.S. without a VCR, Calculator, Computer or cordless phone.
i observe and still listen to the guys on here.im in monk mode but still need my daily fix of red pills.
Thank you Revista for your post and I feel honored that you decided to contribute. Your example is one of the reasons I had considered for why members should be posting. While your initial need has been met, there is still the desire to continue addressing that need. It is diminished but is never eliminated.
They operate in secrecy and most men are ignorant of their tactics.
True C-Pig I would add that MGTOW.com is prime resource to learn the tricks and craft of women in an attempt to reduce or eliminate it’s impact upon oneself.
As an active learner I am drawn to learning processes that allow for critical thinking and cognition, rather than basic information acquisition.

No need to convert anyone. We are not a religious cult. No need to feed that beast.
As has already been stated, women and society are doing a great job driving men to MGTOW.
Many of us lurked before we joined a forum.
Fuck this planet.I come here because I enjoy the variety and depth of conversation. Someone posted something about aliens the other day – really interesting read! This site helped heal me when I was going through a very painful on-off break up. I know that I can never turn back because of it, and I am happy because of it.
I come here for sanity. If I go on Facebook, 99.99 percent of people I know are SJW/extreme left wing. I cannot express my viewpoint on the ever increasing madness and lunacy of the world without alienating everyone I know.
I come here when I feel sad about not “having someone.” As much as a waste of time I know it to be, I do sometimes get an urge to have that again. Then I come here and remind myself why I got here in the first place! And I am so grateful.
MGTOW is a path to an even keel of happiness that far outweighs the extreme highs and lows of a relationship. We served a purpose, and are now a fading image in their rear view mirror,
Check, we may or may not see them, but retention is one of the first objectives of any group. I am sure that there are many former members that would be welcomed back with open arms. Nostalgia is the byproduct of having issues explained or resolved, a feeling many members probably have after joining MGTOW.com
As you bring it up again,
But of course, I was unable to reply earlier but greatly appreciate the willingness of members to educate and inform me and others about membership.
Communicating through text only can be difficult to get your point across at times for some people.
I have recently found it interesting that I see the same few people posting on here every day. I am curious as well why that is.
Great points Hermit and thanks for bringing them up. I submitted a post on Communication several days ago and have often commented to others about the same members posting the same topics and getting the same replies every single time.
The members who are using webconferencing are doing so because of the limitations “text” based communication observes as you noted. As others have suggested, the need that drives you to MGTOW.com may also determine your individual need to seek answers.
Thanks again for some great points to ponder and possibly additional posts.

I joined mainly to support the site.
as did I for the most part and hopefully you are also getting something in return. If not, then at somepoint you will decided that you are tired of giving and not receiving.
No need to convert anyone.

Not advocating that we should convert anyone, was just wondering why the numbers were so different.

Thanks and that was a cool post! The sheer volume and variety of the forums is what keeps me coming back. If there are threads that I have no interest in, I wait several hours or days and like magic, some pop up that I am interested in reading and commenting on.

F~~~’em. They are active by viewing.
I agree, I think readers and viewers can learn a lot and share this knowledge, sometimes, hiding their own sorces.
Before saying anything, I like to read and understand how the community works.
I’m becoming an active member. As this forum is highly US-centric, most board members (which still only represent the tiniest fraction of the society!) will have seen the typical narcissistic US women, the US legal system, the US religious system, courts etc.
I’m brazilian and I’ve seen on this forum a lot of topics that shows other countries’ reality.
Women aren’t so different in different cultures or countries. The legal and religious system are part of a global agenda. Random laws appears in random countries, them, these laws are spread throughout the world.
If we stay locally, I can see the “Maria da Penha”, a brazilian law. If I read abroad, I’ll realise that the same law had appeared in Spain some years later. Everything that I read about US, EU, CA, AU.. will be here in some years and I like to be prepared to deal with it, as a MGTOW.
I think that this forum represents a really tiny part of the society, anyway, I know a lot of people that agrees with MGTOW philosophy but aren’t ready to study or participate here or anywhere, but giving some pills I can help.

Anonymous11I wonder how many are simply terrified to post.
I don’t mind, because saving men and p~~~ing off feminists is in my mission statement.
I like posting, because it keeps my writing skills sharp.
MGTOW.com is prime resource to learn the tricks and craft of women in an attempt to reduce or eliminate it’s impact upon oneself.
To be fair, I would not like us either if I were they.

Anonymous3The vast majority of men are not MGTOW nor will they ever be. Marriage rates are down, but that doesn’t really mean too much. Most of the younger men I’ve met are in de-facto marriages, they live together with a long time girlfriend. They are married in all but name. They can not leave with any type of ease, but their girlfriends can leave, and if the girls ever get knocked up, child support will be issued. Palimony could be too, courts will bend over backwards to hand out rewards to women.
One of the major reasons there isn’t marriage is because the women don’t want it. Young women out-earn young men, so they feel it’s not in their own interest. We all know about hypergamy, it’s time to admit reality. Many of us are on the older side and we also have survivorship bias, but younger men are mostly getting slaughtered left and right. They are not MGTOW because they made a conscious decision, they are just unmarried men that are otherwise married in all but name.
You can’t call a married or co-habiting man an MGTOW.
Maybe at some point a more extensive verification process will be put in place ..
frankly my dear i don't give a damn
They are not MGTOW because they made a conscious decision, they are just unmarried men that are otherwise married in all but name.
So why do you think that decided to join MGTOW? Curiosity or a need?
Maybe at some point a more extensive verification process will be put in place
That would be cool, but as OldBill stated, once they move on they have moved on.

Something went wrong with your post, that second quote is not from me but by MgtowWave, who posted right after me.
As for the question you posed me, I’d say a mixture of both. There is a natural curiosity in men, which is why men are the ones that travel and pioneer and come up with new things and study science etc. Women don’t do that.
There is also a need, men do feel a social need or a sense of belonging. Very few men can get by without that, and even then they are still best served having some contact at times to at least share knowledge. Not too many men would live out in log cabins totally isolated from all human contact.
Member for over a year but Im more of a reader than poster. Certainly noticed the amount of new members of late.
