Rerearch suggests that only 1% of social media users (like MGTOW.com members) actively contribute to content creation (forum posts, videos, blogs, etc,.).
For MGTOW that works out to approximately 258 members, which seems accurate viewing the members posting on the forums.
So what motivates the remaining 99% to remain members, and more importantly how do we convert them to become active members?
This convetsion in participation can only help make MGTOW a stronger, more active site that attracts more members.

Maybe they just like to read the articles and watch the videos.
"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
F~~~’em. They are active by viewing.
MGTOW.
Thank you for all you do GregBO! Video connecting with others has been one more step into the future for like minded individuals. We’ll, the worker bees, help the younger generation and those who are afraid to speak. Their voices are ours. But … they don’t contribute. But, they read.I think women will do a fine job of converting these pseudo members. These are dudes in a spot they desperately want out of. They come here for comic relief. They believe what they read here, but they don’t understand it- yet.
Nothing is a better mgtow recruiter than women.
The answer, is no.
So what motivates the remaining 99% to remain members,
They f~~~ing well want f~~~ing read the f~~~ing site un-f~~~ing-wordfiltered.
Log out and read this post to see what I mean.
how do we convert them to become active members?
They’ll contribute when they have something to contribute. I lurked forever before signing up.
make MGTOW a stronger, more active site that attracts more members.
Men aren’t attracted to GTOW. We’re driven to it. By feminists and other gynocentrisms.
F~~~’em. They are active by viewing.
They’re active by not marrying, not cohabitating, and not impregnating.
GYOW is defined by what a man doesn’t do, not what he does.

Anonymous6And where are the other 25,000 members of this site. It’s only about 100 that are active daily, at least from what i see. KM probably sees more than we do.
Did they just make accounts and not use the site?
Who are these people and where are they?

I’m sure there’s a lot of factors involved. There’s probably a bunch who signed up and lurk actively, probably some who signed up and then stopped visiting the site, there’s guys who used to actively post and no longer post, probably guys who came here, didn’t like what they saw and left… None of us will truly know what goes on in the mind of another unless we ask.

Anonymous6Another contingent where probably scared off by all of the tuna threads that used to occur regularly. That kind of stuff has a chilling effect. I almost never came back after being labeled a tuna, and boy was I roasted too. So think about that.
Don’t worry GregBo, im sure they are just being like sponges. Soaking up the knowledge, reading the ’15 Most Recent Posts’ a couple times a day, especially in bed before nodding off for the evening. They may rarely post, if at all, but they signed up for a reason. And just because they don’t post or get involved in discussions frequently, it doesn’t mean they aren’t preaching the knowledge to other men whenever possible in real life. That’s just a hunch, though 😉

Why Not Give the Lurkers an Incentive to Post! like for instance after a certain amount of time of not posting anything the forums would automatically start displaying various ads ” prompting them to join the fun and post a reply ” (to any topic) in order to get rid of the said ads! and mixed within those ads could be some google ads to generate some revenue! it may sound silly but if those lurkers are already there reading the various threads it could give them the small nudge needed to help them decide to start posting something. (If one keep repeating the same moves one can’t expect different results !)
You must own a better Crystal ball than II’ve wondered about this myself. Pretty regular posters and I enjoy everyone’s contributions but you can tell who the regulars are. And there aren’t a ton of us. Where are the other 24,900?

Heyyy i remember your rookie days. Lol Good times Man, Good Times!

Cool.

Nothing motivates them to remain, Greg. You and the others are forgetting that there is no easy way to close an account here. You can’t just go to a certain screen, check off a few boxes, and say “Yes” to the usual “Are You Sure?” pop-up. Instead, you have to email Keymaster and request he do it.
All those people are still members here because it’s too much of a bother to cancel your membership here after you sign up.
It’s perhaps the biggest flaw in an otherwise excellently run site.
The vast majority of the 99% you mentioned are people who came in, looked around, decided it wasn’t for them, and left never to return. They joined because it’s easy to join and, as sidecar notes, it allows you to read unfiltered posts. When they decide to leave, they can’t cancel their membership without having to email the staff so they don’t even bother. You’re not going to coax participation out of people who never returned after they signed up.
As for the small numbers of other inactive members, they fall into three broad categories: Pure Lurkers, Formerly Active, and Lurkers on a Mission.
I lurked for almost two years before joining. I’m sure there are others like me. I’m also sure there are many who just want to read and not participate.
There are also those who have moved on. The site helped them in the past but they don’t need it as much any more if at all.
Finally, there are those who are here to watch us for their own reasons. You can be sure that several BBC memberships were opened during the Reggie Yates fiasco. You can be sure that click bait sites like the Daily Mail or HuffPro have memberships they use when putting together articles as do various freelance writers like C. Brian Smith.
The Southern Poverty Law Center most certainly has a membership or two here as do other organizations that monitor what they label “hate” groups. Women’s Studies departments at various universities have memberships here as do many of the grads and undergrads in their degree programs.
Law firms have accounts here too. Earlier this year, I tipped off Keymaster to an account made in the name of an Australian law firm specializing in divorce. While the account was closed, you can bet an alimony check another by the same firm was reopened under a less conspicuous name.
Finally, wives, ex-wives, girlfriends, ex-girlfriends, and just plain curious women have many accounts here too. A slip of the tongue, snooping on a phone or tablet, and a suggestion by the Hive would send them all here to see what’s going on.
Summing up, well over 95% of your 99% are members because it’s too much of a bother to cancel. The remainder have either left for personal reasons or prefer to lurk for personal reasons. You’re not going to coax more participation out of any of them.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
When we speak of MGTOW.com users we mean all the users. The members are a small subset of the users. Anyone can look at this site, members and, IMO, a lot more non-members.

That’s a complete response. Quite frankly I find it funny that anyone would assume that the people who post here are all completely men. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The unspoken rules here are extremely obvious. Getting kicked off only means on has to open another account with a different email account and IP address. That’s literally all that it takes. I’d go in to the unspoken rules but I don’t want to make it any easier for anybody. That’s why that Z thing that we do needs to be taken very seriously. Because we’ve already been populated by women and everything else!!!

Perhaps some alternatives to get these “lurkers” over the edge and into active poster status is either a) the site sends a generated message after a set amount of time basically saying “hey there. I see you’ve been lurking”, followed by a message encouraging them to post; or b) simply remove accounts for people who have not posted in 6 months or more.
Frankly, it baffles me that some of you guys could go 6 months, 2 years, etc lurking. WTF? What on Earth could get you to sit on the sidelines for so long on a site like this? Fear? Laziness? Even if you never replied to another thread, at least post an intro-f~~~ing-duction.
It’s the least one could do after all the knowledge that’s been posted on this site. Imagine how many people would never even see this stuff if it was required to have an account to view the boards. Like, wtf is the point of even lurking when you have an account? You could have lurked as a random visitor with no account at all and seen the same material..
I dont know about the others but for me I got busy with my new business…This site helped me tremendously when I was down and fellow brothers here reached out…I am not as active as I used to but I remembered the lessons here and the therapeutic effect of sharing…
I pop by from time to time to read and in the hopes that I may encourage a brother who is down on his luck and struggling…I would like to pay forward the help that I got here when I was down, alone and disillusioned from the plantation that resulted in rage and ultimately glimpses of peace…
Plus…I am trying to make my FU money so that someday I could be able to visit fellow brothers, thank them and perhaps share a beer or dinner…Its going to cost money to save up a trip so I need to catch up on years wasted chasing c~~~…LOL…
Cheers brothers…Some of us may be away for awhile, but we return from time to time to help and see how far we have grown…Stay strong, stay in control and live a damn full life!!!!
I stand with feet apart and let my balls hang free...Manginas dont have balls...See how they stand and sit at the whim of their masters...
They f~~~ing well want f~~~ing read the f~~~ing site un-f~~~ing-wordfiltered.
Holy f~~~ing words. Took me 3 tries to understand what you meant. It’s best used lightly sprinkled in for emphasis, you just dumped a whole can of f~~~s in that scenes. Good thing we don’t have a swear jar or we’d all be broke.
I get the meaning though, very few places to be non PC and get to the meat of an issue. It’s stupid when you can’t have a real discussion without fear or triggering a trigglypuff.
Hope that someday I may lead others the path I have learned. As Virgil led Dante through Hell.
Some probably are reading only. I am sure they find topics they are interested in and find things said here they can relate to. If they are just readers and don’t post or comment, they may not even log in to browse topics. They may still in fact be here but not logged in.
Some may just be a timing thing. Maybe they don’t have a lot of free time but come here at irregular times, with a lot of inbetween gap time.
Some may have found they are more pickup artists than mgtow and maybe spend more time at those places. They may not have agreed with the AWALT and the warnings about how women can easily destroy their lives. The younger you are the more immortal and untouchable you think you are.
Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.
