No it didn’t. There were actually conspiracy theorists that were claiming molten steel was purposefully omitted from the commission report to cover it up.
Just think about this…the planes themselves contained a lot of aluminum, plus there very well may have been aluminum used in the WTC itself and aluminum melts hundreds of degrees cooler than jet fuel burns. If you saw molten aluminum and molten steel could you tell a difference? If people actually did see molten metal in the heat of the moment they had no way to know what they were looking at, and the temperature at which a metal glows hot is much lower than what it melts at, so they may not have even known if it was even molten or just glowing hot.
I wish I could argue the engineering aspect but I’m not an engineer but it seems strange that a small plane could alter the structural integrity of the entire building—I mean it isn’t made of paper and tooth picks. Presumably it is designed to survive even an earthquake which seems more powerful to me than a plane.
You are talking about roughly 275,000 lbs worth of plane that can move at speeds >500 mph hitting horizontally in a focused area against beams designed to take a vertical load. One force that just wants to move as far as possible in a single direction until something stops it isn’t exactly the same kind of stress on a building as an earthquake that is going to be some shaking but not a lot of movement in any single direction.
Plus even if you think that type of impact couldn’t actually do anything to the steel itself…do you think all the welds and rivets would have held?
Actually I believe I reason for Iraq was not WMD but rather a two fold reason–First Hussein threatened to allow oil to be sold under the oil for food arraignment for other currency than the US dollar (there’s a cardinal sin) and he was paying 50K to every palistinian family who had someone killed, or lost property during the second inftafada.
I couldn’t tell ya what the true reasons were…my only point was 9/11 was never the excuse to invade Iraq…which is why I’m a skeptic on the whole 9/11/Iraq conspiracy. The WMD story is what got us into Iraq and if that was just a fabricated story to get us into war 9/11 wasn’t necessary.
All I can say about the fight–clearly there were a number capable of fighting back because some chose to, and from a tactical standpoint the passengers have the advantage because if the terrorist is in the isle he can be attacked and overcome from all sides. If not and he is at the head of the isle as some as he is engaged the other passengers can move up.
Its not as simple as a force on force fight…all the terrorists really had to do was control the c~~~ pit, and if they thought they were going to lose control they just aim the plane at the ground and everyone not strapped in at that point probably ended up bouncing around inside the plane until they smacked into the ground. They could have had one guy playing pilot, one watching the door, and two going up and down the aisle f~~~ing with people…soon as the two in the aisle got attacked the one playing pilot could have just said f~~~ it and aimed for the ground right then.
the obvious question is: if the tactic of flying planes into things was so effective why has it never been replicated? Are the defenses just so good? Or is it to do it they need the complicity of a government?
Probably because security has been beefed up and something simple like box cutters aren’t going to work again because people are going to be a lot more willing to fight back knowing what the towel heads are willing to do. Prior to 9/11 the precedent was probably more along the lines of terrorists take hostages, terrorists ransom hostages…but now that the narrative has changed to terrorists take hostages, terrorists fly plane into building…you’ll probably find the reaction to passengers on a plane terrorists are trying to take in the future will be quite different.
Besides at this point I’m fully expecting the next big terrorist hit on our soil is going to come from towel heads that flew to South America and just crossed up from our southern border, and our government has no f~~~ing clue they’re even here because our border is a joke and they’d blend right in with the millions of other illegals we allow to stay here. Why bother f~~~ing with high security airlines when they could exploit weaker systems? Look what Timothy McVeigh did with a truck bomb…there could be 100 muslim extremists spread out around the country with such devices ready to go just waiting for the right day…how devastating would that be and what could we really do to stop it right now?
