That’s because it was Irish Republican nationalists bombing British soldiers and police officers, they would call it a war of independence, nothing to do with religion.

The unionist loyalists would then mount retaliation attacks on Irish nationalists. A struggle of national identity. Plenty of Catholics joined the British police, proof that religion had little, if any, impact on the troubles.

In fact, clergy from both sides condemned the conflict and worked to build bridges. All well documented.

Horses~~~. Both my brother and uncle married across the religious divide. One brought his kids up in the new faith. The other (GASP) is an ATHEIST!!! His kids don’t do religion at all, but they have views about who should govern Northern Ireland. Intermarriage is standard today. Civil weddings are more popular, if you still believe in the institution of matrimony that’s good too.

I only war I see is some silly ongoing bickering sourcing from several days ago.

As to the recent Texas church shooting, I think it isnt a relgious vs non relgious motive as far as I can tell. However I have only heard about it so take this with a grain or shaker of salt. Which ever you prefer.

I also conjecture even if this was stated to be an act of idealology what I am going on to further say still heavily applies. These types of occurances were not as common in the past as far as I can tell from history lessons, talk to older folks, ect.

This act stims from a deeper societal/media issue. The media glorifies these lunatics that purpitrate these shootings. Due to reality that any loser defect of society with nothing and a lust for fame sees doing something like this as a way to get known. To them infamy is just as good as fame itself if not better.

Why might this guy choose a church as a target to acquire infamy and TV coverage? Magnatude of effect, shock and awe. A church shooting holds higher magnitude than a random shooting in a busy sidewalk.

If Americans would quit glorifying TV as the pinacle of existance, desperate to be part of it along with the cessitation of the media validating these actions by providing these sick f~~~s with weeks of coverage and extensive stories on them incidents like this would be far less common.

American TV culture is the closest thing to the devil that I have ever witnessed.

Among the stupid masses TV is worshiped as a god and appearing on it reagularly makes one of sainthood status.

I ridded my life of TV a year or two ago and have been much happier for it.

I only talk of American TV worship and TV culture in this because it is the only one I know. I have not been to and stayed extensivly in other countries.

So I ask brothers on here in other countries than the USA: Is TV worship and culture as fanatical and toxic in your home nation?
