I’m going paddling come high tide in a few hours. I’ll be taking the inshore kayak. I worked yesterday and also walked the Beagle for a couple of miles.

I work weekends, but last night I watched a dumb movie (fast and furious) having a good laugh at it, watched half the sequel, and today while at work I did a bit of digital painting 🙂

I'm no white knight, Sir. Give me a strong suit of armour, a swift steed and the open road and stick the hand of the princess up your arse. I've no ring to put on it and I'm fresh out of fucks to give.

I am not in My Own Way yet, but for the sake of education I will tell about my above average weekend:

Saturday: Woke up late (good, less nagging). Got called from work for some urgent issue (GREAT, more time away!). Returned for lunch, wife is into gardening – I am not helping. Says she wants for plow something in her pj’s (thinks she is shamming me into doing it), I say its a great exercise for her. I do go out to buy a pot for her, because I wanted to go to the hardware store (need an excuse).
Got to work the whole afternoon (HEAVEN), get back home to dinner. Surf the internet while wife is at TV, wife nags about kid studying. Go talk to the kid to convince him to study.
Wife asks for computer help repeatedly. Give up internet or TV, as I hate the constant interruptions. Go build a prototype of a mechanism I am working on. Wife abuses the kid, kid wanted to kill mother.
Talked to the kid to calm him down, give him some red pills. I say a man has to control himself, that he MUST FEEL RAGE, never repress his feelings, learn and never forget. But the strength of a man is his control over himself. The strength of a woman is her control over… others (he completes my sentence). He cries, says he doesnt know how I put up with her. I make up a really good educational story:
“Say that you are on a bridge and you decided to walk on the edge of the protection rail, then you fall. As you are falling you cannot say: I give up. Your stupid decision was made before, when you started walking on the dangerous rail, now you can only wait for the inevitable impact. Let this be a lesson for you.”
Kid goes back to study. Mother-in-law wants mother to kiss the kid, mother get mad at the idea (and rightly so, its a blatant emotional manipulation, you dont show affection at command of others…) Mother-in-law shames wife, says kid is going to hate her like daughter does. I think mother-in-law has Alzheimer’s, that explains a woman telling the truth and speaking directly, but she forgets my wife is an expert in emotional manipulation.
As I predict one hour later the wife “spontaneously” hugs and kisses the kid, not without implanting some mind-control commands…
I worked until late, wife was already sleeping (great). I finished the prototype, looks good.

Sunday: Woke up late (good, less nagging). Got out to show my prototype to my friend, we found out that we are working on complementary things unknowingly (men working). We plan further work. I go buy heavy stuff for the house. Wife demands to know where I was. Had lunch, go to work the whole afternoon (HEAVEN).

And this is an ABOVE AVERAGE weekend, the prototype looks great!

Dont marry, dont cohabitate, never impregnate! Heed my warnings and Old Sage’s to!

Did some gardening, well soil preparation really. Tilled in some diatomaceous earth to kill the nasty little critters that like to eat my plants. Trying to do this without chemicals and pesticides. Other than that I relaxed from the work week and took a hike. I kept it simple.

Trapper, if you make it back to Frankort, make sure you stop in at Stormcloud brewing. Their Imperial IPA was fantastic. Even better, stop in at Lake Ann Brewing for an even better time.

One reason I keep going back up that way is because I’m scouting the area as a possible place to move to. Not sure I could handle the tourists in the summer though.

I’ll make it back there someday and check them out. Pretty sure a couple gals still have a bounty out on me there. Those Midwest girls can be a hateful lot…
