I +1 when I agree with someone and got nothing to add…
Instead of me posting/quoting someone and saying “I agree’ every time.

But whatever, overall the message is what counts in the end.

    Did.

You probably deserve more after your contributions… I wonder why yours is not close to Mr. Mgtower’s. Maybe you came late?

What do I have, 27 grand in stars? S~~~, I owe more than that in taxes!

I give +1 every time I see a man get his mind out on paper in a way that puts me in his shoes and feeling his thoughts almost like telepathy, you really feel what the guy is saying, putting into words things you’ve been experiencing throughout your own life but never made the connection by sequencing all the thoughts in one or two sooth paragraphs, goes down like ice cream.

I was feeling star guilt for the guys that just joined and have what it takes to be unquestionably respected. But then thought back to when I first came here (ZERO blogging experience) I didn’t know what the numbers were, I was too interested in reading, making the side panels just about invisible! I found a rare sort of men that were fed up and had more than enough JUST LIKE ME!

I found something absolutely void and non existent in my life reading the pages you all have written, I found others that see things much more clearly and definitively, I found a house empty of fools and full of wisdom and adding their wisdom into the pot from around the world both night and day from lands near and far away. Lands like mine that have men screaming in frustration or coming to their senses and walking the f~~~ away…

I salute the fine and decent men of MGTOW! +1 for everyone but the c~~~s!

I could give two f~~~s about the stars number!

I’m more proud of my C~~~ PUNT NUMBER! THAT MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME! 40 c~~~s out the window mercilessly!

I like when the hit the goal post on the way out!

Leave it. Being upset that someone else’s post has more upvotes than ones own is not justificatoin for removing the upvotes system.

Reputation is a valuable aspect of community. While not a perfect indicator of merit, the upvote system is the closest thing we can probably get in this environment.

Don’t be like women and see the upvoting system as a validation exercise. Its a tool for growth and learning.

I have discovered a truly remarkable list of reasons why women are not necessary for a happy life, but alas this margin is too small to contain it.

Great topic and thanks for bringing it up!

Please allow me the time to read everyone’s replies and respond to some specific questions and comments.

    In the mean time….

I’m gonna take this opportunity and ask keymaster if its possible to hide my reputation like Mr. Rennie and Mr. Roydal.

On an individual basis it needs to check each users total – it’s also a custom solution – so we don’t want the list to get big. But I think it’s a great idea to cap it at, say, 3000 or 5000 and then it displays a symbol – black star or a crown.

    I was thinking chess pieces:
    A Rook (castle) for 1000.
    A Dark Knight for 2000.
    A Bishop for 3000.
    A Crown for +5000.

    Or something like that.

Maybe with the MGTOW logo symbol white / grey and then black, and then yellow or gold. In fact we just created it as a vector FONT symbol so it can be injected anywhere – including as a shortcode. (not implemented yet)

Because by that time, you’re “established” in the forums, and the “number” doesn’t really matter anymore.

More later, as soon as I can….

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Might make more sense if you add an extra zero to each of these numbers.

    10000, 20000, 50000 etc.

Anybody can get 5000+ within a year if they’re hell bent on it. Just look at how Mr. Gargamel accrued so many in such a short timespan.

Would like to see more of this..

Where did the notifications button go?

The site got super busy and it started to drag a bit so we turned it off for a while. Its still being tested but really happy to hear members like it. I saw your comment and switched it back on for now. But if there are performance issues, we have to tweak it a bit. The only way to test it for real is when it’s LIVE.

It is a helpful system for separating the genuine members here from newcomers that turn out to be tuna/trolls. Like that f~~~ing idiot a few weeks ago paul23

I usually up vote everyone who replies to a thread I started. It just seems like the polite thing to do for someone who has made the effort to reply. Other threads, I up vote those I enjoy or have valid reasoning even if I don’t always agree with it. I don’t have a bias or preference to who posts what. I don’t see that it really matters to be honest.

Women are so bad, if they changed the law so I kept the house, I still wouldn't marry one. I'd rather be homeless.

Ahh ok, so in my case it’s like a dark knight well on his way to become a bishop.

    I’m down with that…

    Very true this ^^

The system so far has helped me check which of my posts are more in line with the overall content appreciation of the forum. In other words it keeps me from posting complete crap. In any event I don’t see any harm coming from some positive feedback once in a while and I don’t think anyone here is that much of a validation seeking social vampire that they just post for the purpose of upvotes.

I am sure it could use some refinement but even that would be more for fun than for actual use. Chess pieces sound fun enough but I’d say you still want the raw number of stars so you can recognize seniority.

I like the LIKE system as it allows you to show your personal appreciation for a post that you strongly relate to or you believe made some excellent points.

I honestly couldn’t care less how many people do or don’t like what I post but it feels like a facebook thing so isn’t great

My question to Keymaster is if there is an option to turn it on or off somehow.

Then just ignore it like I do. Turn it off in your head.

@ Trivium: That’s right you know: I remember when I first signed up and was initially hovering round about 50 and a hundred there was this tuna showing up here and back then we still had also the option to give negatives, so this attention seeking c~~~ was very quick in down voting as many members as she possibly could and as fast as she could, it was so funny and then all of a sudden I was down to minus 30 or something like that.

Ahh, makes me grin thinking back at these days …

Ned Trent, you get +1s’ from me just for being NED TRENT! Other members I feel the same way about once you get to know them! I’m guessing we’re running in the 99.9% range when it comes to men that are decent upstanding people! We’re standing like piers in an ocean of confusion and emptiness created by the evils of feminism.

Feminism is like sands and water whirling around us but never move us, we’re anchored deep in the truth of enlightenment and wisdom, we’re very much aware of the slanted world around us, like those pink f~~~~~s playing NFL FOOTBALL!

Nothing will change until the plantation is abolished! Until then all we can do is run to MGTOW freedom!

Already discussed in another post, as I can see the majority of us are cool with the system, nothing strange with it.

Then just ignore it like I do. Turn it off in your head.

It is a post like this that I want to up vote more than once, because if memory serves, it was basically the same stance you took in the other thread a few weeks back.

    I was thinking chess pieces:
    A Rook (castle) for 1000.
    A Dark Knight for 2000.
    A Bishop for 3000.
    A Crown for +5000.

I know we have some chess players here, sounds cool.

I also enjoy reading posts like you described…oh, and thanks for that ice cream!!
