I think what this threads illustrates is the value of diplomacy. There is a marked difference between what you say and how you say it. If your intention is to speak the truth, that is one thing, if your intention is to speak the truth and have another hear it and know it, that is something altogether.

My criticism of this site lately has to do with the lack of decorum and diplomacy displayed, because if we are to exchange ideas and hear one another without respect and diplomacy there is no exchange of truth and no potential for one person to understand another, or for one person to change the mind of another.

Its just empty shouting in the wind otherwise.

Insulting people puts them on the defencive.

I didn’t people through insults at me

Actually they know I’m right and realised their own stupidity that’s why they attacked and became defensive.

How to get people to be open to you, is whats missing.

Mate, I made a living working in legalsied boiler rooms you don’t need to tell me anything about opening people and closing them.

Here is a cut on Hawking from Wiki:

Hawking was studying the work of Roger Penrose, which proved that if Einstein’s general theory of relativity is correct, at the heart of every black hole must be a point where space and time themselves break down – a singularity. Hawking realised that if time’s arrow were reversed, the same reasoning would hold true for the universe as a whole. Under Sciama’s encouragement, he worked out the maths and was able to prove it: the universe according to general relativity began in a singularity.

Here is a real scientific/philosophical question regarding that snippet:

Could that singularity be God? Or God’s fingerprint anyway.

I’m not a world famous scientist, but math alone doesn’t prove anything. Proving a theory so that it becomes a scientific fact requires, among other things, observation. I like to believe what you’ve stated above about the singularity is correct, but it is not currently possible to closely examine and observe a black hole and what is in it.

I’ve always believed that the Universe was created by God. I’ve also believed the theory of the Big Bang. I choose to believe that God created the Universe with the Big Bang.

I really don’t understand how this man’s ideas improved our understanding of the universe at all. I read his book. Lot’s of far flung theories, but no real substance.

Hawking was the Establishment’s goto physicist, much like Einstein was before him. Now before, the Einstein fan boys get p~~~ed at me, I’m just stating this out of my own personal research. E = MC^2 was Henri Poincare’s great work and he published it years before Einstein. Einstein shamelessly stole it from Poincare and at first denied it, but then admitted it years later.

That’s how Science works these days. The good scientists borrow from others, the Great Ones STEAL from others.

Quote: Science News: Stephen Hawking proved WRONG! Big Bang was NOT the origin of the universe. Now an international team of physicists and mathematicians has re-written the physics text books yet again. And their theory potentially allows for the scientific examination of both the interior of black holes and the beginning of everything – the creation of time, space and matter itself. Using mind-bogglingly complex maths and science the team introduce quantum effects to disprove Hawking’s claims.

Hawking was proven wrong. But that’s not the point. His argument wasn’t just a straw man argument that could be easily refuted. He forced the team to challenge his theory. That advanced science and understanding, by aiming upwards and doing something positive with his life. That’s the point of debate.

And Hawking contributed something to the advancement of humanity despite having motor neurone disease. No small feat. His politics can easily be shot down, but that doesn’t take away his other achievements.

May you walk in peace and happiness, May you and all mgtow, near and far walk in peace and happiness.

A really good point. Sometimes we have to follow the wrong path to find the right one.

Well, reading that he was a feminist and a proponent of global warming (which in my eyes is a scam), proves only one thing, that he was just a man. Brilliant in his ways, but still a flawed man.

His contribution won’t be forgotten, and may he rest in peace.

    I knew about Einstein’s theft, Wizard’s Pupil. But I disagree a bit with the;

The good scientists borrow from others, the Great Ones STEAL from others.

To me it goes like this; Mediocre scientists borrow from others, good scientists steal from other, brilliant scientists create new thoughts.

Ohhh, and speaking of speculation; my own theory is that reality has two sides to it; space-time and time-space; ,like two sides of a coin. Space-time is the singular reality we all share. Time-space is a different animal, here every choice that is possible will create an new timeline (reality). So, from the beginning of time an explosion of realities has sprung forth. It’s called the multi-verse btw. Haven’t done the math and can’t be arsed, but it’s a good enough theory for me to realize there are other parallel universes were *It’sallbs* doesn’t whine as much…

I do like the fact that he was an Atheist and took a strong anti-war stance and was pro-Palestinian… but a Feminist and against Brexit? The dude was only so smart, I will never refer to him as a “genius”.

Agreed. I dont care how smart he was or what he acheived. Guy was a feminist, a white knight, a mangina. He stood for what vies against me. He was therefore an enimey. I do not lament enimies who would destroy me without thought. I have no respect for feminist ilk. Roll him in his chair into a cat food factory.
