A movement is just a large group of like minded people sharing the same concept, however we need to go our OWN way.

A philosophy: online def (“the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline.”) To me it still resembles “group” think, where many people share the same concepts, but not as strong as that associated with a “movement”.

Mindfulness is letting go completely of all these identification words that we use/cling onto. It is much deeper than MGTOW.

Exactly. It has nothing to do with universal definitions, i.e. community wise and in academia.

How do I put this to make things clearer:

We all can identify words in the English language by listening to or reading them. The neuron firing pattern in my brain will be DIFFERENT to the neuron firing pattern in another MGTOW’s brain, when we identify these words through our eyes or ears. Each firing pattern will trigger a complex set of emotions/chemicals in our brain, based on our conditioning/genetics etc. Very complex when you think about it. It is why arguments start because of misunderstanding between people.

This is why I try my best to not use labels.

Glad you started this topic. I was wondering the same thing. I thought it was a movement, but I was quickly corrected. I think it is a discovery.

The other Movements you describe are just virtue signaling for photo Op’s and the hope of a Leg over at the end of the day.

They are irritating and can at will be dispersed by water cannon if necessary. We on the other hand are affecting society in a covert way. We change perceptions of given societal norms and have no need to march.

Our very existence inspires young men to question the roles they have been assigned and by doing so have a direct impact on the continuation of a society we reject.

Philosophy inspires actions, even the action of inaction in a given circumstance. Therefore, when enough people share the same Philosophy, their actions will alter the course of society.

Society will be “Moved” from blindly accepting the old ways to adopting the New.

Philosophy + Mass adoption thereof = Movement.

I’m not entirely sure that all movements have to have a leader? Aren’t we all leaders in our own way?

Sometimes change happens naturally by the sharing of ideas. We have our ideas in print such as Estha Villars book and others. No one claims to be a leader. We don’t need a Leader. what we need is for our walking away to affect our Leaders.

Something has to change for this society to be worth living in again.

Calling MGTOW a movement or philosophy is like making a philosophy of not poking one’s eyes out with a stick.

Given that more than nine in ten marriages fail within ten years, and that men get destroyed in divorce where women profit, and men have no reproductive rights but all the reproductive responsibilities, it should be no surprise men are opting out en masse.

What’s baffling is that so many men still get married anyways. The f~~~ are they thinking?

It’s a state a being. Feminism isn’t a state of being. It’s brainwashing by a bunch of older women, with no common sense behind it. I think a person’s philosophy CAN make motivate them to do things, change things. Everyone here has had an individual change in how they interact and deal with people and situations, how they talk to people, sometimes if it seems proper to them, drop some mgtow wisdom on a fellow. MRA folks could be mgtows driven to political activism, or they may just be white knights/dreamers/unicorn chasers who just want more legal fairness and equality but aren’t self-described mgtow.

At my age a movement is what happens when I go to the bathroom. Philosophy is what I read while I’m in the can. I call MGTOW a lifestyle choice. Deciding when and where I go and what I do when I get there, who I’m with and with whom I dance, should I choose to dance. I’m not a philosophy, a movement (although there are time I feel like s~~~), or a phenomena. I’m just a guy looking for a gas station with clean rest rooms on the road of life.

Excellent post Greg, I fall into a philosophy. But as a MGTOW I could take this mindset and follow a movement. What would we all do if things got so bad that the government started assigning us a woman to take care of, won’t happen in our lifetimes but something similar, we would be forced to fight back, thus becoming a movement. MGTOW don’t look to make change we just want to be left in peace.
