But omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence are not human traits. Humans are not all-powerful. Humans are not all-knowing. Humans are not everywhere at once. So how can ascribing those traits to some supposed “god” be anthropomorphizing it?
Absence of evidence is evidence for absence, YES, this is true because there is literally NOTHING beyond our ability to prove that it exists.
But we’re talking about proving that it doesn’t exist. That’s a completely different proof.
Even Antimatter and Dark energy is proven to exist through the effects we see that they do, moving galaxies.
Actually “dark energy” is a hand-wave. It’s just a cool sounding label for “energy we can’t see or otherwise detect directly”. All we know is that there is some reason why galaxies aren’t moving exactly accordingly to how we thought they should move. For now “dark energy” is just a hypothesis to make the numbers all add up. Until we can actually produce dark energy in a lab somewhere to actually test it, that’s all it will be.
Oh, and antimatter is a thing, and has been a thing for the better half of a century. We’ve produced positrons and anti-protons in particle accelerators. Also anti-neutrons, which is a total mindfuck. So far as I’m aware, though, nobody has every produces lawful-neutrons or chaotic-neutrons.
But that’s the difference between a hypothesis like dark energy and an assertion like “god exists” (or “god doesn’t exist”). We may someday be able to test dark energy (or whatever it is that’s fucking with the math), but there will never be a valid test to prove the existence or the non-existence of god.
I mean look at it this way: even if, somehow, someday, somewhere out in space we do happen to meet an entity that is all powerful etc. Even though it might meet all the above-mentioned criteria, is that entity really “god” or just very powerful. Is it magic or just sufficiently advanced technology?

OK, real talk, you need to take a step back and chill, because you are getting way too worked up over what is an entirely academic discussion. Whether or not god exists is utterly irrelevant and not worth all that strife.
The important question is not: “Does god exist?”
No, the actual important question is: “Why do you need for god to exist?” Or it’s equally important corollary: “Why do you need for god to not exist?”
Also, not a christian. I’d be making the exact same argument if you were claiming, “God exists because muh bibles or whatever!” And I have. Right here on mgtow.com. Search the forums.

My definitions are the dictionary definitions. What you are calling “atheism” is really more agnosticism.

I think a big point to be made here is that we are still deep in a world of Christian thought, even if we are atheists or agnostics or whatever. We are using definitions created either by Christians or in response to Christian questions and answers about the nature of god and the universe. Jaweh is still the only show in town when it comes to philosophical concepts of atheism or agnosticism.

However look at our own ancestors’ Germanic pagan creation myth -fire and ice meeting and it does not apply. There is no being that did it. Our ancestors were not answering how the universe, energy and matter got there, they were trying to answer how the world got there and that is different. They had no being with a master plan. Now look at the ancient Greeks and the Egyptians and you will see that they too had no master plan, no being with all the answers.
The ancient gods did not care if we dies in natural disasters or were tortured to death. these are just s~~~ that happens. Now please do not mistake me, ancient concepts are not going to meet our needs today but they show there are other ways of looking at things outside of the monopoly of escatological monotheism which is the way that today in the west we have to either define ourselves for or against “deity.”
We are still tied to jaweh’s pals when it comes to philosophical definitions because they had the monopoly in universities until relatively recently and all that has replaced them is meaningless secular liberalism that means really to ignore serious questions not ask them.

This seems to be absurd because What does it mean to exist? If it means anything, it means its somewhere in the universe, somewhere in spacetime with measurable quantities energy, mass, gravity etc… Its totally absurd to say that we need definitive scientific proof from this reality, to show the absence of something in a superreality. Its like arguing over what color fairy dust really is.
My argument is that we do not need to entertain such ridiculous demands from Christians to prove their fantasy is bullsh!t. Their whole delusion is Psychological and based on elementary psychological lapses in judgement. This is readily apparent in the fact that their God does everything that humans do! He/she (is characterized as an individual, a human pronoun). He “judges, loves, punishes, shows mercy, creates, destroys and “chooses” <- all actions exclusively HUMAN. When was the last time we saw some Gravity and Electromagnetic Energy “showing mercy and forgiving” ??? Yet those two forces are credited with “designing” (<–anthropomorphic trait assigned to unconscious things) half the universe.
It seems to me, Humans have a hard time accepting that Matter and Energy DONT NEED A CONSCIOUSNESS to form planets and life. Humans, 90% of whom cant think past their own human-motivated and human-characterized psychological biases, cant handle that simple fact, that the cosmos runs of its own indifferent accord. Humans look at EVERYTHING with human-tinted glasses.
We give names to hurricanes and ships. We bang on machines and yell at them for not working. We talk to trees and say Mother Earth. We actually relish our anthropomorphic delusion as if its clever when its akin to a retarded bum talking to himself.

I believe I was barking up the right tree when I wrote the Apology to Faith by the Faithless thread. Seeing as faith is tied inextricably to human psychology (in that our grasping reality means inventing a superhuman builder) faith is an evo psych coping strategy at bottom. It progresses into full on religious Memeplexes of countless variety. But its plain to see that superstition and fear is the wilderness kept at bay by faith.

That Andy Thomson video (the one that put you to sleep) talks about our brains having developed through evolution to ‘assign agency’. There was another video that talked about how our brains simply ‘create’ religion. We all seem to naturally have a brain that is prone to delusion. Knowing that softens my attitude toward Theism.
On side note, last night I watched that documentary ‘Losing Our Religion’ that looks at preachers and ministers who switch teams. It wasn’t a particularly spectacular video but it was interesting enough I thought. Basically it was a series of interviews with clergy who went Atheist. Some came out and some stayed in the closet. They talk about what made them become preachers and how they eventfully figured out that it was really all bullshhit.
It was interesting to note that the one thing that they all seemed to have in common was the fact that it took several years of doubts and questioning before they finally admitted to themselves that they were Atheists. You also get a sense how ‘trapped’ they feel as Atheist clergy.

If atheists are to adopt a scientific methodology – as surely they must – then agnosticism (defined as the answer simply being unknown, rather than forever unknowable), is the only possible position.
If they cannot answer ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ and demonstrate their answer to be so, then it must be ‘I don’t know’.
The Scientific “I dont know” is quite different from the Theist “I dont know”
The scientist is coming from a place of humility. The Agnostic (theist) is clinging to mysteryworship and desperation.

Its limited by human features because knowing something, being present and having strength is characteristic of a conscious being. We’re not talking about God, were talking about what its like to be a human which is the very definition of Subjectivity. This is why their whole world view is false, it starts with Subjectivity, not objectivity. Their idea of a god is unimaginative!
Spinoza and Einstein understood it, Pantheism. If you want to humble yourself to nature and respect the balance of it all… then your humility is best served in awe of Nature itself, not the warped anthropomorphized “designer” of that nature. There is a Human disconnect here, where our observation of Real Nature ends, and our imagination begins.

We do know they existed, that they tried to provide some greater meaning for man’s place in the universe, and they involved a lot of stuff that Victorian archeologists swept under the rug, because naughty. The most well known of the mystery cults, the Eulisinian Mysteries, had some need for lots and lots of small clay figurines of the very vagina-centric goddess Baubo. For example, many of these figurines swapped her face and her vagina. For reasons. Needless to say, those weren’t put on display front and center in any Victorian museum.

Not all religions. The anthropomorphic concept of divinity is a very judeo-christian thing. Also a hellenistic and probably hittite thing. And sumerian thing. Which is probably where the jews got the idea in the first place. The gods of other religions are a lot more morphically fluid, being shaped like lions or hippos or whatever the fuck animal Set is supposed to be.

I had one Indian Chaplin approach me in Jail. He actually approached my mother out in town at a shopping center. (My mom thought that was odd ) My mother was not at all amused. But, I did request to talk to a chaplain at the other Jail. He was of the Catholic Faith. Good guy. But what made me respect him so much was that he really was a true person of facts and figures.
He told me what I found and Confirmed what I said about drugs and corruption inside the jail system. And he was very true and real about things. It’s the first time I admitted to a (in) person why I gave up religion, and humanity.
He told me why he believed. And I am glad he still does. But when he asked to Pray for me, I very respectfully said the truth, “Sir, I am not ready to accept God again. Point is, I think the whole world is living a lie. We all wish for things not be the way they are. But the real story is how we still refer to the bible as being the “Show” for the ultimate truth.
The World is changing. But trying to stay the same with the cover being simply a mirror to a new illusion.

Having a Muslim from Egypt as a room mate for these last 10 days has changed my view of them.

There is one thing that strikes me about some of these Famous Atheists like Hitchens.
This video that posted at this point talks about World Poverty and the empowerment of women. THIS is the part that I am going to have to admit is odd. I mean, Hitchens was once noted as saying that he would never like his wife to work. But here he is saying the the solution to world Poverty is to empower women. I have to think that maybe he was sheltered at the realities of women or Hypergamy. Or Maybe he was admitting that I.Q. and how the west does things does not work for all people.
Either way, the argument is still correct. Empower women in impoverished nations and the problem seems to go away. You have less children, and less starvation. Women are indeed selfish overall and will be able to have a say in their selfish notions of survival and be able to choose a provider that is able to keep them out of poverty. In fact, women don’t really care about religion per say either. So that would also help out with the grace of god suffering is good Dogma/ God will provide BS that is lauded as fact or belief if you just hang on things will get better and leave it up to Sky Beaver mentality .
You know, just like any Man of the house, the LORD required STRONG Leadership in his church. It was Power that made Religion what it was. And Power came from people in numbers just like it does today. What we see as the MSM is simply the same thing. Another competing religion. In fact, it seems that Power is what religion needs. And Power comes from those that give their lives to it and get protection.
What I think bothers most people the most is not if god exists. That is not the thing that makes people argue. Its the illusion of power these people get and the feeling that is taken away from them that they don’t want to let go. Kind of like why a Drug addict likes a drug. Or an alcoholic needs booze. Or why Men want sex. When you start taking things away that people put faith in, it sucks the very thing you are that made you you for some people.
When you can no longer believe that your children died and are no longer in a better place, it f~~~s with your mind man. It means that there is no happy place for all your troubles you went through here on earth. No Comfort that when you saw a man take his last breath, he is gone. No Bright happy place. He died in that jail. All that is him is what is left of his Meat suit.
While the Church was in power, or was the Major game in town, MEN on the top knew they better do things to afirm peoples belief in that faith. Hence why god pays Electric Bills. Heals the sick through the Hospital. Etc.
Think about how Providence Health Care had nuns set up hospitals. But offer Birth Control, Only cuz a BAD Naught LAW made them do it? LOL. Talk about passing the Buck! What happened to just ask god and be healed that was promoted since childhood. Or HOW the CHURCH did not pay money to lawyers to defend people who let their kids die because god would heal them?
I met a guy in jail my first day at the one I got transferred to that use to be a Hard Core skin head. He lived out in the sticks, but also, was a country boy. Country music etc. We hit it off like 2 peas in a pod. I hope to see him when he gets out. I promised we would do something called hogging I think where you try to catch a grease up pig or something. Point is, even he had to come to the realization that not all black people were like that. The Black Counselor that we had he had to admit was “Pretty cool”. However, he often preferred to sell his drugs to blacks and Mexicans. And not to do so locally around his own place. But what he saw was the same thing as he grew up. It was Stupid.
I explained to him perfectly just like TFM would when he talks about Red Pills to the new and unaffiliated why it’s okay to feel the way you do. It’s just human nature and instincts. Just like MGTOW is fighting Human nature to sacrifice yourself, the concept of perfecting ones own is the same thing when you want to be sure that you have collective power with others in a checks and Balance way. Just like babies prefer their own mothers and fathers, same thing. It’s a well served survival instinct. Families that are alike tend to stay together and live. Those that are not, may see alot of trouble. Thing is, we are humans, and Intellect is the Champion of the day. Not Color race or creed. ALL OF THIS APPLIES TO RELIGION OR BELIEF.
Religion was simply a method to bring order and control and answers to those that can make a civilization prosper or be controlled. And it works VERY WELL. (In the Absence of Knowledge. ) Problem being, we have knowledge and can reach out to millions at any one time. That’s a PROBLEM. And not for the reason you might think off hand.
Like it or not, I like Christmas. I like these stupid fantasy. I like good will among men. I like to think that there will be women one day that will love men as we love them. But these things are just to real for me to let go. I want them so badly to be true. And I don’t want them NOT to be true. I want to have faith in better times. The saying goes, I think, The path to good deeds is filled with errors or something like that. I suck at remembering quotes or sayings.
I think it was Ron Paul that was asked : Why does this world not make you angry ass hell?, And I think he said something on the lines that it would just burn you out.
Sometimes, its best to just have a good time here, enjoy and not worry to much. Let that be someone else’s problem. I think that is how DDJ described how he f~~~ed other men’s wives.
Once you take your time and understand that you only have now. There is not much to really be worried about, things start to land in place. And the worst part of it is, your grief over the truth does not end. Hence why so many men kill themselves. If there is NO god, no Higher power. No real solace to what has happened to you, it sure makes for a bad day.
THe Internet as it is here today and even MGTOW is our new bible in a way. It is our Memory and our life being recorded for all of time. Our words and or Scripture is our posts. We live on forever on the internet. We are the past fathers of the new era.
I hope this makes sense to some of you. Personally, I still wish there was god. Or even my belief that we are just recycled. That makes the most amount of sense. And what keeps me thinking that all the crap that I have been through will not be for nothing.
If helping other men is how I leave my legacy, and those men then live to make a better life for themselves, that one hell of a great way to think about your immortality. They may not remember who I was. They may not even know my name. But knowing that I was apart of the Movement that freed so many men, that something to really be proud about. And something that will last as long as men see value in it.
Unlike the physical, the best thing about the mind and the idea is that it can live on forever. And non of that nasty boredom that goes along with being Immortal.
It makes you understand why so many would rather just get high, not worry about tomorrow, and just enjoy today. Or how others are okay with the simple life of collecting cans to get high and smoking meth in a tent at the river. Why health is not a priority for some. And why Women spend now and damn the consequences of later.
TO some, NOW is ALL there is. I guess that is why men are built the way we are. We are simply the cosmic engine of life that keeps on seeking something like an answer that for some reason is just beyond our reach. Whatever it is, I’m glad that today, I am Alive. I’m Glad for all of you being here. And I love you all so much. YOU are my Brothers and my family. You are Humanity. And I love you. But I hate you all just the same for not being what I really needed. A lie that I wish was true. If that makes sense.
I keep saying if their was a god, then he better have some explaining to do. But what is there to explain?
For all I know, this is just my Dream. My Nightmare. My Illusion. All of you are not there. And it’s all in my head. Its a strange thought. But if it is all me, then WHY do I keep making my life worse? Why am I not living the life that I want to live? Why is it so hard? That is when I wonder what motivation would I have if everything was Idyllic.
Makes you wonder, if women really understood that, maybe there would be some real revelation to why you should treat men better. In fact, maybe the reason why our world is so far gone is that men have gotten tired of covering up the lie, and said, WELL, YOU CAN DO BETTER, HERE YOU GO! Knock yourself out.
Once you realize that you can’t buy the one thing you wish for, I guess you better make the world as you wish. Or it will eat you alive.

Yup. People build a self identity around Faith. So criticism of faith is taken extremely personally, they dont take it as objective criticism about belief in general, they take it as a personal affront.
