Frankly, it’s best not to shoot. Pete made his point. They will not return.

I’m a little leery of putting slugs in Dr. Mossberg in an urban environment. I may move to 00 Buck alternated with #4.

agreed. putting shots into their truck might p~~~ them off and encourage them to come back with their own guns and attempt to ambush you with a scoped 308 instead of just finding easier targets. If you’re going to shoot, you shoot to defend yourself and to kill, not to try to scare people away or provoke them.

    My best to Pete!

I certainly will let him know Hitman and I hope all is well up North.

If I’m not mistaken, Greg, that’s what they used to call a “trench sweeper” load. Very effective and Kaiser Bill’s boys were still complaining years afterward.

I do know something like that is part of current CQB tactics too. I’ll thank whatever god you like I was never involved in that particular bit of nastiness.

Those idiots don’t know how extremely lucky they were. Once you decide to go in a situation like that you keep going until A) they’re all down or B) you’re empty. The cadaver team would have to use mops.

My Dad carried one at times in Vietnam and I did in Iraq as a M-16 inside a Hospital was never a good option. A shotgun with the proper loads however was a fine weapon to have. Have to worry about collateral damage at all times.

Our buddy Pete would always have option A as the outcome, theres not enough time for him to actually ever be empty. Carpal Tunnel / Repetitive Motion Injury would set in first

Get a PROPANE generator. It makes a lot more sense

Thanks, Did not know that they made propane generators. I continue to learn … Yeah!

trench sweeper load is basically 00 buck using a pump shotgun with a (relatively) short barrel.

I know in WW1 they alternated rounds because of the various types of early anti-shrapnel body armor the Germans occasionally wore, stuff like layered leather, light mail, and even breastplates.

You’d run up to the last dog leg before the occupied fighting position, grenade it, then sweep the corner in the usual pie slices shooting anyone still moving. You’d keep your trigger back and “pump” the gun empty. Nasty, brutish, and short doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

In vietnam, my dad said they used a shotgun with a duckbill attachment. Spreads the shot horizontally instead of in a sphere. So if pistolpete had to, he probably could have shot moultiple guys, depending on the distance and other factors

This just looks like it would be TOO much fun to add to a 870 for Home D. Thanks for sharing

Nasty, brutish, and short doesn’t even begin to describe it.

But very very effective at performing the task, killing as many enemy personnel as possible in close quarters quickly.

Some of the new ammo types are much worse. A tumbling round can be bad but does not touch these.

If you’re going to shoot, you shoot to defend yourself and to kill, not to try to scare people away or provoke them.

If I had a nickle for every time someone told me they’d shoot someone in the legs to not kill them only wound them or fire a warning shot.

    1) Shooting to wound still gives the aggressor an opportunity to harm you plus dead men tell no tales.
    2) Warning shots are dangerous to innocent bystanders possibly over a mile away.

The sound of a shotgun slide being racked while you are concealed has a very deterring effect. You are better off not shooting. If it’s an option, it’s the best option.

I’ve been shot at twice and held people at gunpoint twice. Trust me, being on the business end of a gun has a very sobering effect.

Running in a zig-zag pattern while being fired upon by a 9mm is not fun. I lived a very exciting youth.

Yup, that’s called slam firing, I guess similar to fanning revolvers.

Well, if you run out of meat you may have to resort to cannibalism. Why go hunt if the prey comes to you right?
