I believe in what many people felt, and feel, (Insert Country Name Here) stood for. People similarly felt, at different periods, this is, more-or-less, what America, Britain, France, Austria-Hungary, the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc, the Ottoman Empire, and other nations stood for. I believe in liberty, minimal government, and certain national, linguistic, and other beliefs as well. I believe in the rule of law, in free speech and free elections, in other inalienable rights that have to be watered occasionally with blood. These are I think also universal beliefs of Men across time and space in the West (I don’t know enough about non-Western cultures to claim universality – frankly, I have serious doubts).

I was, when I was much, much younger, willing to die in the ranks of a certain military to defend these things. A period as a cadet in some army taught me that these things were not particularly under attack by anyone external, really, and that my industrialized world was mainly under attack by corrupt f~~~shuweiurs who used the military-industrial complex for their own ends to make a quick denarius and to keep the population from demanding real change. I also came to believe that such-and-such army was totally incompetent, was badly led by beringed morons, and that it was going to get its ass handed to it in the next major war it entered. Which it did, and I am very glad I am not dead, bleeding out on the sands of Kunar or the Parwan.

This – corruption – has been a problem in the West (by which I mean everything from Turkey to Russia to Iceland, inclusive of a leavening by certain Jewish, Roma, Magyar, and other smaller groups) since the Roman Empire. I have come to believe it is an inherent flaw in Western (Judeo-Christian) culture, and I’m not sure it’s permanently curable. “Democracy” –> Republics –> Corruption –> Collapse. Feminism and anti-religiosity tend to be part of this collapse. I have since come to believe that most empires collapse from within, and that the enemies are usually quite plainly in sight; indeed, they won’t shut the f~~~ up.

Two generations ago, in WWII, the West was under real attack from totalitarian pagan fascists who wished to destroy the traditions of Rome (again, leavened by those of Israel, the Roma, and the Magyar, etc.) down to the roots through genocide. The Soviet Union, while twisted and evil, at least paid homage to Rome through its legal traditions and stated beliefs. The Axis paid homage to Rome only by stealing its symbols. I think that those Men who died to defend what was handed down to them are true heros, and my rant has nothing to say about them. It also does not speak to those who were used and abused by their governments in Viet Nam, Angola, or either recent Afghan War, who thought they were protecting something, even though they were just being used. They may have died in vain but did not die without glory or honor. I am not criticizing the troops who died, unknowing – I instead despise their craven, lying, pathological leaders.

In truth, the Japanese had the ultimate manipulation going – HONOR. All this s~~~ done for honor by the lowliest of their people. Their emperor was a LIVING GOD. Yet, I highly doubt any of the Japanese affluent culture was dying for any type of f~~~ing honor. It only applies to the sheeple.
