A lot of the so called night creatures were shadows and things you see out of the corner of your eye where you can’t get a good view. But that accounts for only a portion of the things that people have noticed over the centuries. Some of the incidents were made up for storytelling. I have experienced the night paralysis. I read a newstory not too long ago that scientists have come up with a theory that the paralysis is a defense mechanism the body uses to prevent us from hurting ourselves while sleeping and dreaming.

I don’t know if you heard words clearly or not but sometimes if you heard a conversation or something that wasn’t clear then any number of things could explain it. Sounds in the distance being translated by our brains looking for a pattern or trying to make something familiar out of something vaguely heard. Seeing something crossing the road that couldn’t have been more the 3 ft. tall could have been a child in thought or a play of light and shadows on an animal. Just because we can’t come up with an explanation for something doesn’t mean there isn’t one. I have had what is known as deja-vu. I would be somewhere and swear I had seen the place before and know for a fact I had never been there before. I would hear somebody say something knowing I had never met that person before and had never heard them speak. I am not saying that strange and unexplained things don’t happen. They have happened to me.

Mine sounds a little cliche but its 100% true. When i was 16 and studying for my GCSE’s i got a part time job as an evening cleaner at the local hospital. I was always sent to clean ward B16 – the oldest, creepiest f~~~ing ward in the hospital – was also a day-stay ward so completely empty by 18:00. Imagine some British victorian era hosptal and you won’t be far off. Compounding my fears was a plaque on the wall dedicated to a nurse who has hung herself on the f~~~ing ward several years ago.

I always had the feeling I was being watched, constantly on the cusp of a mental breakdown. Definitely the creepiest place I’ve ever been to and I’ve visited Borley Rectory – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borley_Rectory (most haunted place in Essex).

So one evening I’m moping the floors on the corridor, again struck with the feeling of being watched and completely on edge. Suddenly 3 double doors all slammed shut at the same time and the lights went out – the ward was pitch black and I’m slap bang in the middle of it and can’t see s~~~. I manage to find the lights towards the entrance and then stood outside for about 20 mins, too s~~~ scared to go back in. I debated phoning down to my TL but knew I’d be laughed at. I managed to see out my shift, but I quit the next day.

The ward has since been knocked down and rebuilt but I’ll never forget ward B16 and that was nearly 17 years ago.

I have just remembered an incident that happened to me when I was about 16 yo. My family was residing in this old house that had been around for over a 100 years. One night when the sky was very clear and the moon was shining bright I seen this figure of a girl (human figure in a dress and about the size of a teenager). This figure was displayed on a wall opposite from a window. I looked outside that window and saw the moon was shining on some water in an orchard we had just helped irrigate. While I could see the moon was reflecting off the water I couldn’t understand how it could take the shape of a girl. For some reason I felt no fear. Looking at the figure I said “Hello, can I help you?”. As I watched the figure rapidly disappeared. Not the slow movement or fading out you would expect in that situation. I mentioned it to my father the next day and he didn’t say anything. He didn’t even look at me with scorn like I would have expected. When the owner came by to collect the rent a couple of months later my father ask had anyone died in that house. The owner stated that a teenage girl had died in it some years earlier. No one had said anything to him about a teenage girl or ghost before that. Figure that one out.

Back in 2003 Christmas Eve I was working as a security guard for a mega construction project.

Around 4ish in the morning I went out for a patrol. It was cold and I was may be 14 or 15 then. Being a pussy I never used to turn my flashlight on just in case some crazy was lurking around. Didn’t want undue attention toward me.

As I turn a corner of the warehouse building there is a Pontiac van parked at the edge of the tall warehouse wall. Like close enough the passenger couldn’t open the door more than a few inches.

There was a woman with big bangs partially covering her face. And a man in the driver seat. There was enough light I could make out their faces but I was in dark. I thought I was. Both were staring ahead and there was something unnatural about their mannerism. Then the woman looked in my direction and just stared.

I am not sure if she even saw me. But I proverbially s~~~ my pants. I didn’t have the b~~~~ to go back to the office as it was brightly lit and had a lot of windows.

Instead I waited till 7 am on the 14th floor of an adjacent building till I was relieved by the day guard.

The car had left at some point but I had some anxious shifts for a while.

This is what happened when I have seen shadows.

And referring to your post dissident about hearing stuff down stairs, when I was little I swear I would hear foot steps down there every f~~~ing night but my parents would just say it was the cats but it stopped after about a year and we still had our cats…..

Also I would here the microwave beep like someone was pressing it and my mom heard it once too.

Most recently probably 6 months I had one of those encounters where you are awake but you cant move because your body wont let you. I managed to turn my head and see a shadowy figure like that guy on the picture of street watch signs standing about 5 feet away from me.

I kept squirming and couldnt snap out of the sleep and then I started to get angry and was trying to move so I wanted to charge it. Then I finally regained some strength and threw my blankets off like a dysfunctional child and right when I got up to run at it, it disappeared.

I have read this and I believe that fear feeds these kind of encounters and paranormal occurrences.

The cabin looked like the cabin from Evil Dead. I didn’t see any lights on in the cabin or any movement, just got a really bad case of the chills. Even as I write this I’m experiencing the chills just thinking about it.

Anyway nothing bad happened and I turned around and got the hell out of there. I remember it took be about 20 minutes to calm down though.

You can tell when evil is near. Its not a feeling you ever forget.

Sleep paralysis is often accompanied by vivid hallucinations and the feeling someone or something is lurking nearby.

I’ve had only had this happen once and it was an unpleasant experience. I could see an ageing woman slowing stepping out of my peripheral and had a feeling of dread.

I am pleasantly surprised to see the number of guys who are open to this. I am also pleasantly surprised to see all the Men of science not attacking us and calling us a bunch of fruit cakes. Experience N1 was enough for this night to read, holys~~~. F~~~ing hell. I had hardcore sound manifestations in my life, thank god not a single person/ghost s~~~. No idea yet how I would react.

My EXPERIENCE N1 : The Door banging ..from inside.
A couple of years ago at summer, I was working night shifts as guard in a school I once went to as kid (was offered to work there for a time). We have cameras installed around school etc.
I was sitting my ass of, watching cameras at the guard’s cabinet/booth in school, nothing happened around. I was watching black/white screen image, tree leafs, fresh wind, silent night around, no one. It was 2AM.

I was half-asleep in somewhat zen-state at the time, as nothing was occurring. That’s until I heard an immense, atrociously LOUD as F~~~ triple-BANGING on a backdoor in the farthest corner of school. A chill went down my spine, my eyes opened up and I felt an adrenaline rush. I checked the monitors instantly – no one, nothing. Nothing on them. But that wasn’t even the problem.

You see, the backdoor Im talking about is separated…by another backdoor. And it’s in the basement floor. We are talking about 2 massive doors covering each other at a back of the school and even if someone was banging outside of it – there is no freaking way a sound could get trough with such FORCE. Even if someone was goofing around/pranking – I wouldn’t even hear it for real. Then logically, the sound of such magnitude would’ve come ..from Inside. But, I was alone at school all windows closed, all 3 floors checked by me beforehand as well as school perimeter (I always do my job 100%).
I stopped watching the monitor and with deathly chill started staring at the end of schools hallway, I don’t know for how long, but finally I stood up.

Holding keys and my phone (with pre-selected Police number in it, for an easy button press), I was listening in to the void, a complete silence. I was watching the hallway leading from my booth to the end of school, aswell as stairs.

I closed the booth I was in with keys. I backed out to the schools front-door …then I got OUTSIDE and closed it from OUTSIDE. Then, still holding my phone with pre-selected Police number in one hand, and key’s in another, I stood OUTSIDE my f~~~ing school (that I knew so well for 12 years I was in btw) and looked inside the glass door, waiting, observing. Once my heart rate calmed down a bit, I reopened front-door and cautiously went inside, opened the booth …. and continued to sit on my ass, watching cameras/stairs/monitor rarely blinking, until 6AM when I changed shifts.

Naturally, no one was outside the school or inside of it. No alarms went off that night, all 1st floor doors/windows closed. I still can’t imagine how such a loud noise is possible, still something similar once happened to me when I was living in my own house and I was alone (again) …but it was daytime ! I think some f~~~ing spirit wants to come in or prank the s~~~ out of me since I was a kid. Who knows, for his owns sake he should hope I don’t get to retaliate.

My EXPERIENCE N2 : Almost asleep ..and woken up by a haunting vocals. And again. And freaking again.

Now this thing had happened to me once with sleep paralysis (so I was terrified). But also without it, it happened every time when I was trying to fall asleep lying on the back, a couple of times in my new apartment I now live.
Usually around same time (0:00), when falling asleep in a comfy bed, on my back, as I feel like falling in to the world of Morpheus and NAWALT unicorn dreams… a breathing-obnoxious whisper rushes in to my ears and pulls me out. It happened multiple times but now, thankfully for a year It’s still fine.

I once had something pull my leg off the bed, once I had “sitting on my chest” feeling aswell, but that I didn’t even care about really, as sounds p~~~ me off and scare me way, way, way more. Stay classy Mr.Ghost, nice pranks f~~~er.

PS. On a side note: When I was a kid, I was sleepwalking and scared the s~~~ out of my parents, a few times.

I have a bizarre idea, but hear me out: if some paranormal schmuck appears, I should start masturbating furiously and SCARE HIM AWAY that way ! The only problem I have with this proposition, I will be so scared myself that I will paralyzed by fear to do it.

F~~~ that, I will stick with my sound hallucinations and occasional door banging. Im 100% for it now, no imagery please ! F~~~ THAT.

We’ve supposedly got some haunted places in our historic parts of town. They’ve made an industry out of giving tours never do you ever see a ghost. I have a friend who works as a guide, and he’s never seen one. They mostly just tell stories from hundreds of years ago and milk the tourists of their cash.

I did spend some time at an old Spanish mission site on one of our barrier islands. There was a massacre of the priests and converted natives by the other natives some 400+ years ago. That was the most eerie place I’ve ever visited. It had a really weird vibe to it. Hundreds of people were killed.

There used to be a lesbian that drank at a bar I went too that worked at one of our more infamous haunted places. She told me she was in a storeroom and felt a invisible hand on her shoulder. Another friend, who is a videographer, shot some video of an orb moving up and down a flag pole at some historic place up near Charleston. I’ve seen the video. It’s weird.

I lived in a huge house in Phoenix Arizona it had 3 acres of land my brother found three different sizes of cannon b~~~~ .in 2004 I reconnected with a family whose teenage kids used to babysit us .there one son committed suicide. Anyways I bought a tent I pitched it and saw a shadow outside the tent and I thought it was him I had a lot of weird s~~~ happen .according to my manager the guy got a gun and shot himself in the head in a park .the f~~~ed up thing was his father was a drunk years later he beat his wife to death with a bat .so now he is in jail for life .

More than a year ago I asked any members if they ever saw the future? Any scrap or vivid detail of events that hadn’t unfolded yet? No was the answer so I abandoned the thread after telling of my own premonitions of the future that had unfolded in exact timing and detail.

The f~~~ed up thing is watching it happen twice. I have no boogiemanitus or believe in UFO’s, it’s a mathematical impossibility in the realm of living tissue, in the 4th dimension it may be so. No body confined spirit can freely go there at will, like we’re a 2 dimensional picture in a 3 dimensional world we cannot see.

I believe seeing tomorrow is a drift tunnel to that 4th dimension outside the known laws of physics. People that see themselves dying and then return have also walked down that tunnel (from descriptions I’ve read and seen).

I’ve seen the exact same event another person saw and reported it. I was s~~~ scared and never told another person being introverted in nature until I came on here.

I’ve learned to control the porthole and not go down it on the nights it starts happening, I wake up immediately and know what’s happening, then I go back to sleep. I swear it’s a wormhole to a different dimension, it swallows all your scenes unlike a dream, it envelops, sight, sound, touch, taste, and something more, “reality” you’re actually there seeing everything unfold in sound and living color, perhaps it’s a skip in the timing chain of the space time continuum and only certain people can hear its click. I can sleep in a grave yard on Halloween, Friday the 13’th, full moon, but I can’t sleep in my own bed when the time machine starts rumbling. Call me crazy, but I know what I saw, it’s a doorway to an unseen dimension, my next trip through will be the day I die. It’s that terrifying! like seeing God or something! Perhaps people that see aberrations from the 4th dimension have this ability too, the bible says we’re created in his image and speaks of angles and demons on earth, perhaps those are in the 4th dimension bleeding through that those people can see.

I sense evil real well when I’m close to an evil person, perhaps it’s just a finely tuned sense of awareness but I don’t think so, a guy that crashed a gate I was with (against my advice and willing to want out of the vehicle) I predicted to everyone there that he was going to murder someone, about 5 years later, sure enough he did.

Like the face of a future killer? That I’ve seen, more than once, with one confirmed prediction. Its an aurora that they give off like evil surrounds them, I’ve seen it in all walks of life on every level of society. I’ve seen Government hypnotized people breathing deep through their nostrils high on power oppressing the citizenry, and on the other hand bikers I would trust with my f~~~ing life!

So the night my ex left I was besides myself pacing around the home alone and in tears. It was my worst moment. I instantly got an overwhelming feeling that an evil presence was there. I still remember looking across the living room and a large being appeared with horns wrapped around its face and it pointed at me as it laughed. It was completely silent, didn’t hear it at all. The main lights were on and I could see it clearly, this was no shadow. I don’t remember being terribly afraid. I only remember being grief stricken.
It was see-through and vanished quickly.
There is a good chance that I was hallucinating from the 12 tabs of LSD I dropped but can’t be too sure ;).

Just kidding a trusted doctor told me it was stress induced and that’s a possibility. Honestly I don’t know if it was real. A mind unraveling from grief can do strange things.

What lottery described is exactly a typical night terror. Soemthing like 40% of men have some sort of experience with sleep paralysis and/or night terrors. Women dont seem to get it for some reason. Probably because they are all succubuses.

I had an extremely bad one once when i fell asleep on the couch in the living room of my old apartment. My roommate was in his room with his door closed. I woke up to what felt like being attacked. I honestly thought someone had broken in and was killing my ass.
They were pushing my chin back super hard and gouging the hell out of my chest with their knee. I couldnt breath or move or say anything. I just kept trying to yell to my roommate and when i finally was able to yell I snapped out of it and my roommate comes flying out of his room and I’m just on the couch like a dumbf~~~. Its kind of funny thinking back on it.
