Alternator belt on a Honda shouldn’t take more than half hour.

I agree. I think on my Datsun 260Z I had to take the water pump off to replace the belt, but most cars you just loosen the bolts and slide the alternator and take off the belt. Even with taking off the Water pump it only took e an hour.

Doesn’t surprise me. Saw some mangina make a day project out of changing a flat tire.

I know what you’re talking about – I had a ’90 Nissan 300zx – it’s the one I fell asleep under – everything on it was so tight it was a bitch to work on.

f~~~… was that a freaking mitsubishi???

I changed my own spark plugs the other day. Big deal, right. Well, it was a v6 and I had to remove the air box, intake manifold, and etc. to get to the back 3. A fairly big deal for me. And yes, I replaced the intake manifold gaskets too.

I am totally ashamed to admit i saw him outside again today with the freaking pos jacked up again, working under it for some god unknown reason.

He probably broke three other things while fixing that one thing. That’s how I got started

You got that right. I remember stripping the head bolt just trying to get them out. It was a straight 6 with 3 Weber carbs on it, got pulled over for dong 138. LOL But you are right about the damn bolts. Nothing was easy on that car.

Mitsubishi is another car I’ll never buy again (I had a VR4- the one pictured in my profile)
I kinda miss my 300ZX though – that was a fun car to drive.
I might get an Infinity G35 coupe with Z350 drivetrain next
But what I really want is a low-mile Goat. I want to go to LSX platform and put a blower on it. A blown V8 is on my bucket list

My college car was a 1974 VW rabbit. Talk about an easy car to fix. A roll of duct tape and a few wrenches and I could fix just about anything. UP until the block cracked and filled up with coolant, and even then I was able to drive 40 more miles to get home once I let it cool off… but it served me well, and despite it being just a little beater car, probably the one I remember the fondest for how well it treated me when I needed a reliable cheap reliable car the most.

Oh one warning: the G35 goes through brakes like f~~~ing crazy.

I have to get something to tow my camper. My jeep Cherokee died (transmission). I thought about a car, but I feel better knowing I can always hit the road with my camper and live.

That’s not a problem really. Its biggest drawback I heard – is that you have to drop the engine to replace the clutch
