Man, the time period I came from, the relative safety, the relative sanity.

    That small window in time.

    The 1980’s

    I was in my prime.

    Life just kinda worked.

Have I been transported in time 500 years OR has something FAR sinister gone down during the last 30 years.

Not the original I knew in the 80’s Tears for Fears, yet still somewhat haunting.

The world will continue to change faster and faster. Appreciate that you have GALTED already. Imagine what will happen to the men who will wake up in another 5 or 10 years. The longer they wait, the worse the fall.

Focus on the positives bro. You are in a much better situation now. Give it some more time and you’ll appreciate it even more.

    Nice song.

I have this same thought every day.
The 80s, for me, were life.
I notice a huge cultural shift in communication skills & ability to live life in people born after Gen X.
Maybe saying this makes me a crogety old man?
If a genie could grant me one wish, it would be that it was always the 1980s during my lifetime. Hopefully this is not motivated by nostalgia, but by the desire to live. I’ll even take the higher pollution and urban crime.

Good news is that I’m creating my own reality and influencing the culture around me for good every day.

Yeah man, I hear you, the 1980’s felt like LIFE for those of us of a certain age.

The world went to hell in a handbasket or a smartphone.

Ever felt trapped between two worlds.

I’m younger, only 28, so I can’t say that I notice a “change.” However, I do notice a difference. I can’t stand most people my age and younger. Obsessed with their phones. Hell I’m the only person in my family who wants to go get wings and shoot pool. I ask my friends to come over and play cards or go play pool and Monday and they just make fun of me. They would rather sit around or go spend money at the movies or the mall. SMH I just don’t get it, I definitely don’t fit in this society. There aren’t many, normal average people left, it just seems like everyone is one extreme or the other. Super redneck, or super hipster. Bible bag or super liberal, I consider myself a centrist, I just make my own mind up and don’t adhere to this or that, average Joe, I wear blue jeans and a t-shirt. And now I feel like I’m the weird one?

I was once a great king, I believe you were too. I hope you believe in me, I hope you believe in you.

That was the Ferrari I wanted when I was growing up. I am looking forward to purchasing an 812 Superfast. Fly down then and we can go put some mileage on it in Texas Hill Country.

The only thing wrong with the 80’s was pop music, possibly the worst music ever……Except for today’s poo music.

I feel this is a bit poignant in terms of societal change.

Anyway, grew up in the 90s but it’s easy to see it’s when things started going downhill in retrospect.

Everyone, each generation, loses the ‘world’ that they knew if they just live long enough to see it go…

I was around in the 80s too. It’s worse now, but it wasn’t good then either.

Also crime rates were a LOT HIGHER. Big cities were absolute messes, not what people think of now. And most of the technology was still in cities. So everywhere else had pretty much nothing. There was graffiti everywhere, gang activity, lots of violence, murder and muggings. It wasn’t safe to walk around by yourself, especially at night.

We have the lowest crime rates EVER right now.

It really is a mad world that’s why people who overthink things about this world lose their s~~~ or get anxiety. Even our birth, a single semen out of millions, slipping through the cracks and fertilizing an egg is crazy in itself. As the saying goes, It is what it is.

70’s music gave my earliest memories. Psychedelia “art rock” was so excellent.

I always say I want to go back in time to the 80’s. The chicks were thin, I f~~~ed loads of them, times were good, movies, music and culture were better, no internet, 4th wave feminism, majority landwhales..yea..send me back to the 80’s!

The late 70’s were the bomb. Peak sexual revolution. Then in 1983 AIDS made it’s way onto the seen and having sex meant a death sentence.

I lived in a predominantly gay neighborhood and they were in full panic mode with an average life span of 3 years.

    Things were never the same.

I prefer the late 70’s, I was born in 1960.
