I used to feel that way about a woman. Someone that I knew since I was a teenager. I had so much fun with her. I “ached” for her and thought about her all the time. She always kept me at bay and in the friend zone.

Fast forward many years later she had a daughter and I had a child as well. She would never have been with me when we were young but now we were both adults and had grown up. We started dating. She was the “one and only” that I had been waiting for all my life and I was finally going to start a real traditional family.

The “honeymoon” was over f~~~ing fast (we never actually got married, just using the term to imply that the newness wore off quickly). She went from being nice and being everything I had hoped for and turned into a nightmare. She had a problem with everything. Everything became an issue. It was f~~~ing nuts, never could tell what was going to set her off. I can’t even stress how hard I tried to make it work. The mental gymnastics I did to ignore the obvious truth etc. These are the things that you have to do when something is worth it, right?

This monumental failure started me on a soul searching expedition that tore apart my long held perceptions on life.
