*Astrology* is some dumb f~~~ing s~~~ women believe in. Carry on.
“Astrology” is precisely what I said, however your reading cimprehension is atrocious. This, wise, sage advice to eat “healthy” if you are depressed, is coming from the exact same individual who said if you are “BORN” a male, you are f~~~ing over other males lol… Oh, and nice avatar btw. Truly exhibits your ridiculous, inept mentality.
Sorry buddy, it is actually scientifically proven that eating healthy over eating s~~~ty is highly beneficial to your mood overall. You downgrade the importance of it to “eating more veggies and skinless chicken”, but really if you get a wholesome diet with all of your needed vitamins and minerals compared to eating sugary and trans fatty garbage you will realize how big of a jump a person can make. A person can have much more clarity with their thinking, can have much more energy, balance their hormones, control weight, etc.
I’m not sure why you’re so touchy over this subject. Getting the fundamentals down first is extremely important. Exercise, nutrition, sleep. Get those down and everything else is easier. No reason to get mad at someone for making a completely rational suggestion.
Also: you recommended taking a walk every day, so it’s not like your advice is revolutionary compared to what he said.
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you into something else is the greatest accomplishment." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
Well now, this thread turned into a s~~~ storm. Can we not debate respectfully and refrain from personal attacks?

Anonymous18I believe Ancientwisdom’s account is hacked by his jealous ex or something. Unless…..
There are people on this forum with more education and life experience than I do. But I have a useless (for now) degree. And what Snake said was spot on.
The idea is to find “hope”. You must eat to survive. Having depression and having suicide ideation is an extreme end of that spectrum. The OP mentioned being depressed and isn’t on any anti-depressants or having suicidal ideations. Which means he can choose to utilize the mesolimbic pathway (reward pathway) to feel good. Eating healthy and having to make a healthy choice for oneself, is a step away from depression inducing “self-loathing”. If he chooses to eat healthy, he is “choosing” to make a positive effort in being healthy. Emphasis on the choice. Positive mind frame.
Don’t get personal man. We are here to help each other out. You don’t like someone’s advice, especially when its not directed to you, take a hike.
My response to “snake” is in large part due to what I have read of him in other threads. The guy LITERALLY said “if you are born a man, you are at FUALT for our system”. Does THAT sound logical to you?
My original reply to the OP was a complete understanding of where he is coming from, and I believe telling someone who suffers from depression to “eat” better diminishes the problem.
I have dealt with depression myself, and the sole goal of my contributions are to help anyone who needs it.
What I do NOT respect, is some guy telling other men that if they are “born” they are a problem. I dont respect someone telling me how “macho” they are, and Im a flea on their “nut sack”. I dont appreciate or reapect someone who acts out of inconsideration, and is a bitch.
Dont believe me? Look up some of “snakes” other interactions. I am here to help other dudes. But if one is suffering serious depression as a result of existential problems, DIET is NOT going to help.
Resident cynic.
Actually, a bit more like Commando.
Snakes reply to my argument is “f~~~ off and die”.Sounds logical (?)…Sounds more like a menstrating bitch to me!
Snake- you mentioned you wont even go to female cashiers at the store. I bet you spank it to men, huh 😃?
Telling ANYONE who is going through depression to “eat” differently, is ascenin.
Snake, your so funny and cute. A f~~~~~ dressed up pretending hes a man.
Goodnight bitch.
Resident cynic.
Considering people suffering from severe depression don’t eat and starve themselves, yeah it is totally asinine. lol, ancientwisdom my ass. Doesn’t even know the first signs of severe depression. You want daddy Snake to read you a bedtime story before you go to bed, son?
“Daddy snake” yet ANOTHER gay, Douchebag self-refference. Ever seen the film “Foot Fist Way”? Its about a pathetic loser who teached Tae Kwan Doe to children, He is the EPITOMY of some insecure dude attempting to cover it up by CHILDISH “macho” actions. Everything from his infantile behavior, to his cheating wife, and his ridiculous 1980’s Ferrari.
You remind me of him. You are ENTIRELY pathetic. Everything from your (lack of a) thought process, to your superficial replies on this forum, and your absolutely pathetic avatar lol “snake”. Lmao.
You strike me as the kind of infantile loser who uses “selfie” images on dating site, that are of g himself flexing in front of the mirror.
The “snake” character from that film, is a DOUCHEBAG notion of a man. My 8 year old nephew has more common sense than to PRETEND he is so “macho”.
Your hillarious. Its clear your cognitive abilities are diminished at best. You are so inept you wont even use a cashier at the grocery store who happens to be female. You feel guilty for being born a male. Sorry buttercup, Turn your b~~~~ in now.
Youre the kind of guy who thinks Chuck Norris is “cool”. Its no wonder you say such douchebaggery to me: your a mirage of a man. You find identity in false pretenses that society programmed for you. Good night “snake”<—-such a TOUGH, macho name lmao 😃
Resident cynic.
Uhh, Chuck Norris *is* cool?
“Bro, Im going to call myself ‘snake’ because it sounds so tough and bad ass! Im a SNAKE mo-fo’s! Yaaaa thats right- Ill tell you your my “SON” in an internet dispute, to show my BAD ASS qualities!
I have “issues” with being born a man, but BRO you know ANY guy that questions me on the INTERWEBZ is just a flea on my nutsack!
Did I mention how bad ass I was? Im so BAD ASS I wont even GLANCE at females.
Tough picture, I have. Im a “snake”! Thats right —SNAKE!
Dude, I am so BAD ASS!
Resident cynic.
“Mo-fos”: any credit you had was just ruined.
What was this thread about? Helping someone asking for help with depression, right?
Or you can ‘argue over the internet’. yay.
I can not fathom anyone who has seriously dealt with depression offering this advice.
So don’t thumb it up, then. Why would you throw a flaming arrow at Snake (or anyone) for that? A minimal amount of respect for fellow members, please. A MINIMUM.
AND… the dude is right. It does start with diet – and exercise. Eat cheseburgers and drink soda for a month, don’t drink enough water and don’t work out. Not only will you start to stink (from not sweating), but you’ll feel like absolute s~~~. Then eat apples, drink pomegranate juice, snack on carrot sticks, drink +3 liters of water per day, and work out for a month … and then come back and say the same thing.
You’ll be back, and it won’t be to gloat.
Fit people who eat healthy are far less likely to “seriously suffer from depression”.It’s a fact. You can even remove the emotional state from it all together. Fill your gas tank up with vodka instead of premium gasoline and see how depressed your car gets. Diet first. It really is. The exercise is required to help you sleep properly too. If you’re not exercising, your clock gets all f~~~ed up…. you start waking up at noon. Just ask a really fit person how s~~~ty they feel after eating junk food for 3 days. A flabby / depressed person doesn’t notice it, but a fit & healthy person does. The BEST way to feel like s~~~ as quickly as possible, is to stay out all night drinking until you vomit, getting high, and smoking a pack of cigarettes.
It’s what you ingest that will first bring you down, and it’s what you ingest that will first pick you up.
External factors – like losing your job – are nowhere near as responsible for depression. If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got. What was this thread about? You are correct. I stand corrected for engaging in personal battles. My apologies, sincerely.
I truly hope OP can find ways to deal with depression. I have dealt with it myself, and I know how much it can extract from ones life.
There is clearly no panacea to solve the riddle, but being open and honest about it amongst like minded individuals is a good step forward.
OP, or anyone else, feel free to contact me if you want to compare “notes” on depression.
My apologies to the forum, and you too Snake, for the fact that we got so heated and off topic. I can agree, to disagree.
My SINCEREST apologies.
Resident cynic.
No apology required. Everybody’s cool. Even when it gets a bit heated.

I really enjoy reading all of your insight on every thread you have replied to. In this parricluar circumstance, perhaps we do not know the underlying cause of OP’s depression. He mentioned NOTHING about diet.
Did he lose a family member, or loved one? Did he lose money, or a job, or something of significant value? We do not know.
I approached this situation assuming there was some deep-rooted, underlying cause for his depression. I dont know ANY men who suffer from depression without such a cause. I dont believe eating “karrots” and “juice” would absolve one from depression they are dealing with caused by MOST circumstances of depression to begin with.
So, I should attempt to relate to the original poster in a humane way.
I know if I opened up to others about depression, the LAST thing I would want to hear is “eat differently”. Serious depression is rooted in much more dynamic concepts than vegetables.
Resident cynic.
He’s just not motivated and said so. Look I was once in a line of work where I had to be SUPER fit. The job/ contract actually hinged on that. Mind you I could eat everything I wanted back then, but I also didn’t want to eat everything either. What you learn is to listen to your body. I know for a fact diet is almost everything. Body builders will tell you the same. Exercise actually TELLS your body what to eat. “DAMN I NEED A GLASS OF MILK RIGHT NOW!!!!”… or … “I’M SO HUNGRY I COULD EAT A WHOLE CHICKEN!!”.
Almost nobody listens to their bodies. They think “I’m hungry”. So they eat… chips and cookies maybe… or pizza to get full….. something they shouldn’t.
Guess what happens when you eat 10 Oreo cookies because you didn’t listen to your body telling you to eat an orange? You f~~~ing crash from the sugar. THEN your body says “well I didn’t get my orange!! I want my f~~~ing orange!!! “, and it tells you that you’re hungry – AGAIN – when you’re not really. So now you eat pizza to get full. But the body is still screaming for some goddam vitamins. So you eat AGAIN. And then you’re depressed because you’re getting fat from that s~~~. Then you get unmotivated.
That’s how it works, and it’s not bulls~~~.
Read the book “Fit For Life”. I picked it up 20 years ago and have been living like that ever since. To this day I am STILL conscious about eating fruit before anything else….. not eating too often…. having 5 small meals 3 hours apart rather than 2 or 3 big meals…. and I know about melons: “Eat it alone, or leave it alone”.
That book was f~~~ing excellent.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.Key Master, how can I email you directly? I am new to this site and I have only accessed it via my phone, and do not see an email option.
Resident cynic.
Use the contact form top right. Address the email to me.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.Dude, you can troll me all you want, I don’t give a s~~~, I’ve been on the net a long time. I troll back. Cheers.
