I find it at least mildly entertaining when “family”, for some reason, that normally has nothing to do with one another, “feels” the need to get together on Thanksgiving and XMAS. Then after the holiday is over they go about their daily life doing whatever it is that they do without a concern or care about “their” relatives, but I guess that they can say to “others” that they spent the holidays with family even though “their” family has turned into a house full of people that have grown into strangers over the years, and uncomfortable forced conversations/small talk is made throughout the day just to appear like they actually care about one another. By the end of the “holiday”, MOST people are happy/relieved that they don’t have to see these people again for another year.
