You are obviously a smart man, which is why you are MGTOW. Take the job, if nothing else, you will have a life experience. Why are the women in the family against you having a life experience? Ask them that question and gauge their responses. I bet they won’t have a logical response as to why you want to have an experience.
To be offered a job is a golden opportunity. I wish anyone would offer me a job, including a place to stay and food! And to be able to advance as well… If I were in your shoes I’d take the job before somebody else, reason; jobs do not come easily. Only menial jobs with minimum-wage comes ‘easily’, and there’s a reason for that.
And you could tell your brother two things; 1) one less mouth to feed, and 2) extra income for the family. If you feel guilty for “abandoning” your mother, you can always visit as often as you can. It’s not like you’re moving to another planet.
Anyway, I hope you’ll find a quiet spot when you’ll make your decision. It should never be done rashly or in haste. And make sure the decision is something you can live with.

Come on Varun, grab this opportunity. You can always come back if it doesn’t work because the females in your family will nag you no matter what you do.
Your mother said that you should stay until your brother get married but do you know what happens next? They will arrange a marriage for YOU so if you want to escape life long slavery you be better be out of home by that time.
At least by living alone you will get more time to study and it will be easier to focus. You can’t list to women when you want do to something because besides seeing us as property they are afraid of changes. They feel the need to forever protect the status quo.
Pity and contempt are siblings. You only feel pity for those you consider weak.

Why do you feel like you might be making a mistake? because everyone has that feeling. I felt like that when I joined the military as well, and through all the good and bad, things did work out to where I am now.
Speaking of which, here’s some advice for you that I wish I had at your age:
Since your rent and meals are free, you’re going to have at least a little bit of cash to yourself. Whatever else you do, put some of it away and DO NOT MESS WITH IT! I’m learning about money management and the stock market right now, and if I had put away 500 a month in stocks or so when I was 20 until now, I’d be a millionaire or better. You have quite the advantage of not having to pay for rent or food as both generally take up a lot of a paycheck.
Not sure what degree you’re going after, but I hope it’s something useful. It’s always nice to have other options if one thing falls through.
Big one is having your own place. YOUR place, not shared with roommates, not stuck with people prying into your stuff, You and you alone. I cannot explain how good it feels, you must experience it for yourself. Chilling out wherever you want in the house is a reward that cannot be underestimated nor properly explained. It is also the added power of when you say,”NO” it’s backed up by a door between you and the world.
Once again, I say take the job and run with it. 3 months and you’ll be in a better position? Outside of the military’s almost mandatory raises, I can’t think of a better position to be in. Good luck man.

Besides, being on your own is great. Can’t even describe the good it will do your mental health. You’re a grown man and it’s time to strike out on your own. You can’t please everybody, and if you make your life decisions based on what others want, you will end up miserable.
And.. break the 40 hour per week mentality.

This is a good advice: being mentally ready to leave is very important.
The business owner will probably try to get from Varun unpaid overtime and there’s even the chance that the promotion will be much later, not after 3 months, nor even 4 or 5.

Your family will have to respect you once you’re living away from them, otherwise you don’t have to contact them. You can remind them that you’re financially assisting them (if you do decide to do that)and inform them that treating you poorly will lead to the money drying up. The shaming tactics come from their own desperation.
See the power-shift there?
They will have to respect you more if they want to see you and the cash.

That’s why married men get no respect, because they’re taken for granted like you are.
It’s a great opportunity to jump beyond the paddock and get life experience. Even if you move back home you know you can get back out there with the knowledge you’ve gained.

Having a woman as boss can be an hell or better than having a man as boss, it all depends by your behavior: women are more irrational and emotional than men, that’s why women bosses can be easily manipulated, because most them rely way more on “feelz” than on facts, but you should be aware about how to act.

This is called analysis paralysis. Men don’t need time to think things out. The employer can’t wait around forever for you to make a decision. Men make decisions, we act on them, we f~~~ up, and because we aren’t women we make adjustments along the way.
Everyone here is right: the women in your family are shaming you because you are a resource to them. They believe that if you move out, some girl will snag you, and then she’ll be draining your resources, not them. They won’t tell you that directly, but they believe this because they are women, and that’s what they did!

She was actually 2 years younger than me. Her family with political ties granted her an excellent starting position in the company (she said so, it’s not a rumor), then she had a good career mostly due her merits.
