Fast Food Workers Think They're Entitled To $15/Hr

The minimal wage fast food workers in Chicago are marching to get paid $15 an hour. This is basically woman and minorities demanding more pay. What they don’t realize is that if they increase the cost of workers, then they’ll be automated out of a job and then they have no $15, and no $8.25 an hour. These people want more money to support themselves and their families; well fast food was never meant to support a family or a living lifestyle. It was meant as a starter job to establish yourself and get a skill for better jobs down the road. They don’t deserve $15 to flip burgers or cook fries. If they want $15 an hour, go to school and become something more important than a measly fast food worker.

I worked in fast food.

It was part time whilst I went to college and got qualifications so I could get a real job.

I saw this happen in Seatac, Washington. A lot of people ended up getting laid off. It didn’t even affect workers at the airport because that’s under the jurisdiction of the Port Authority…another bone of contention. More and more of these places are becoming automated. Wait till AI robots start getting programmed to cook!

It’s one of the goals of liberalism right now. Pay it little attention. Anywhere it has been adopted it has resulted in layoffs and increased costs proportional to the raise.

It’s just a sense of entitlement, because they’re raising families on a fast food career choice. Those jobs were never meant to support families. It was meant to be a job to get yourself started during or after high school, but people want to make a full career out of it and think that’s all they should do and live off it.

The Alberta NDP government had a goal of a $15.00/hr minimum wage. That 15 bucks an hour for pushing shopping carts around the parking lot at Walmart.

The NDP will be long gone before that happens…

The one guy left to mind the robots and keep the customers from looting the place might be worth $15 an hour.

One trend I have noticed over the years is that with every minimum wage increase, the items on a fast food menu increase in price immediately if not sooner. Fast food is barely competitive with a sit-down restaurant these days.

I recently read of a McDonalds exec being quoted as saying that a $35K food prep robot is economically viable. Having no pubic hairs or boogers slipped into your food would be priceless.

One has to have a skill in demand in order to justify higher pay. Sorry snowflake lurkers, but that’s reality. C-Pig is not responsible for reality.

Yes, if they get paid 300 bucks an hour, this would be perfect for the common health of all mankind. Then real food would get chosen over the cheap “fast food” which is not cheap after all. These fast food chains make so many big bucks that they can afford to expand their businesses all over the world and crush all local restaurants.

Because of them, whole local suppliers go down the s~~~ter. And good food is replaced by synthetically produced garbage food that makes your ass big and gives you no nutrition at all.

Lets say I own a mcdonalds.

If a MCD normally runs with 8 employees a shift, making $9. something per hour average that’s $75 an hour. Fine. My labor cost per hour is still $75 per hour…now I run with 6 employees.

I just put 2 people out of work per shift…3 shifts, I just put 6 people out of work. Now I’m the asshole for firing 6 people. But I’m paying all my employees $15 an hour, I thought that’s what you wanted? Oh you want all current employees to earn $15 an hour…ok.

If I run 8 employees at $15 per hour, my labor cost per hour is now $120. Now I am no longer profitable, and I have to close the restaurant. now all 24 of my employees are out of work. How do you like me now?

I’ll move to a place where the cost of labor is lower.
