That’s important. It’s not just one person.
I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been seeing a rash of various members who want to argue specifically against other members instead of disputing what they say, and who can’t seem to leave stuff from one thread inside that thread alone, but instead spread it around the board as a whole.
I don’t know why the f~~~ that’s been going on so much in the past few days, but people need to knock that s~~~ off.
If you (and I mean a general “you” to the whole forums here, @bstoffers, not you specifically – I totally agree with what you’re saying) disagree with what another man has to say in a thread, argue the point with him (using facts and reason, preferably) in that thread. Don’t drag that argument into other completely unrelated threads.
And if you have a problem with another member here personally, hash it out with him in private messages. Or don’t. Just don’t spread your grudges all over the forums.
tl;dr: Can we please quite all the petty interpersonal bickering and get back to being “short ugly sexist bitter virgin misogynist losers who will never get laid etc.”?
agreed. i’m a new member. and a new paying member. I was p~~~ed off because a thread about banning a member ( a very serious topic considering you can pay to be here) got turned into a thread about turtles. come on. I dont give a s~~~ about turtles enough to be awake at 2am and reading for an hour. I will stay up to read about possibly having a member banned. (one is more important then the other)
I’m a dude with not a lot of money. I paid money to this site because i agree with the message and lifestyle. I thought a member being banned was the focus. Taking another hour to read about turtles is not neccessary in a banning member post. how about an “important” designation focused on creating awareness of wanting site member opinions about actual serious things?

I might get knocked for some of the s~~~ i put up but i also get alot of guys say they like it .
I am censored to my freedom of speech in the real world by law .
I didnt see it as km booting him on the other thread for the f~~~~~ bit but more just to let things cool down . Got on this thread and km comment reaffirmed that .
We all live in different places around the world . Unfortunately some of those cultures have really made there mark with sensitivity to words especially on a screen .
I see those that are sensitive as been wounded by there society .
IT ALL BEGINS WITH ONE RULE . Then those that want rules will want more .
They just need to harden the f~~~ up and have a sense of humor or learn if they dont like something they dont have to comment .

I’m advocating for two things:
1. Freedom of Speech
2. A Clear & Basic Criteria for CensorshipI didn’t say x11 was “censored”, and I’m not blaming Key Master – I love KM and this site. This post has nothing to do with KM and as far as I know x11 wasn’t censored.
My thread has everything to do with a REQUEST for censorship; and thus the criteria request.
Simple as that.
You got your answer from KM. This isn’t a public space, even though KM is at great pains not to act as some oligarch, and we have ample freedom of speech here. So your question as to what criteria is needed, he has answered.
As for what remains to be asked, what’s left? You seem irked because quite a significant number of people complained about a poster’s recent behaviour. Your stance seems to be why is anyone allowed to complain on here? That’s more insidious. Ideals are one thing, and freedom of speech is dear to most rational people. Application of ideals among multifaceted and very ordinary human beings is another thing. Applied ideals are messy and prone to error. We are flesh not machine.
If it was one poster with a personal beef it can be disregarded. But when a sizable proportion of an otherwise calm and reasonable and MALE group makes the same complaint, then there might just be good reason behind it.
Again, the bar scene, you’re talking and debating among like minded men and one guy is hanging off the bar and calling you names and threatening to show you his dick. Do you turn round and say ,”This fellow is exercising his right to free speech” or do you bang him out cold there and then?
And this isn’t me digging at X11 again, the level of s~~~ he got was unfair and exceeded his own offensive behaviour. He buried the hatchet and any further pursuing of him is over the line. Keymaster has been hands off, looked at things calmly and decided that he shouldn’t be banned. We all should respect that and move on.
These threads are not providing value to the site or our common MGTOW philosophy. This place is a shop front for MGTOW, a bit of respect for each other wouldn’t go amiss.
It’s not really that subjective if they come out and admit they do it on purpose and get their kicks doing so.
I would also say not everyone comes out and admits it so those cases probably need people to refer to the threads and postings of concern.

Look, we know what the stuff is we are talking about. Everyone does. Because we all remember the threads where s~~~ gets out of control.
It’s when people start getting off the topic and just start shifting over into personal attack posts and the thread goes off the rails. You can see where it starts happening and you can read the posts and see they aren’t “joking around”, the insults are real and neither back down and things spiral out of control. Generally one guy provokes another and the one provoked responds, and the provoker just keeps going. Then others start coming in to defend one or the other and the entire focus of the thread is destroyed and just becomes an embarassing mess of bitch.
And this s~~~ is easy to occur when there are people here that admit they enjoy starting this s~~~ in the first place and enjoy doing so.
This behavior is inherently detrimental to the site and what KM is trying to offer mgtow men here. You think posting stuff about being abusive to women hurts the image here (and stuff gets pulled)? How about acting, on purpose, like a snarky little bitch to others here and devolving threads into shouting matches. That hurts the image too. We look like we don’t have our s~~~ together and we fight and get p~~~y like little goddam girls at a slumber party.
This isn’t hard to see. This is the kind of crap being talked about.

I ignored that thread for the obvious s~~~storm of unnecessary drama it was inevitably going to become. How the f~~~ did it segue to turtles?
Threads go off the rails. It’s the internet. It happens. Generally it happens when the thread is already dead. You just have to learn to pick and choose what you want to read. I’ve actually learned a lot from threads that have completely lost the plot.
The issue here is people intentionally derailing threads with s~~~ they’ve dragged in from other threads. Especially personal disagreements. That’s not so inevitable, and does not need to happen. It’s one thing to start discussing the dutch masters in a completely unrelated thread about video game emulators or whatever. It’s quite another to call out another member in a thread over something they said in a completely unrelated thread.

That thread ElCP put up was a laugh a minute.
Why do people take so much so serious.
We post a lot of serious stuff here and often some fairly negative stuff too so now and again it’s nice to be able to literally laugh out loud.
Ok – so turtles aren’t everyone’s favourite and agree we did derail ElCPs thread a little. But he kept it on track and ny time we talked about turtles most of what needed to be said was said.
X11 was backtracking a bit. The message was loud and clear that he was crossing the line.
Threads get derailed. We know that.
If a threads content is important then start another on the subject with a request that if people want to go off topic f~~~ off to the thread they already derailed.Just some thoughts.

Personally this is the type of situations that requires the NFG-attitude. As bstoffers said; “Don’t be a dick!”
This site is the only one were any of us can say what we think without fear. So, censorship shouldn’t be on the table; exceptions being death threats and the like.

Great list, Tower, it is salient and to the point.
No one is entitled to disrupt the general activity of the site. I don’t consider this speech censorship. It’s called manners. Don’t make me reincarnate my grandmother to come slap some manners into you.
On the other hand, we sometimes have to “suck it up, buttercup” ourselves. One’s feelings on a subject automatically do not give one the right to dictate terms to others.

I did not raise any complaints against x11 in that thread, precisely because we hashed it out. And it was resolved. At least for the time being.
But all in all. Ignoring someone who does not understand the most basic tenets shared between men. One of having and showing respect for one another. Appreciating that being here is a privilege. Not engaging in intentional cruelty and personal attacks. Insults, etc.
This sort of person should be removed. As the question of etiquette and maturity also have to be considered.
Agree that ignoring people we don’t like, is a good strategy. But in this case. It’s like trying to ignore garbage that may be stinking up your place. Most people would not ignore the stench. They would simply take out the trash.
That is exactly what has happened here. KM did the right thing. The members who spoke up did the right thing. What we collectively tolerate sends a message about us, and this site. Of course we should be tolerant and patient. But when it reached the point where this member had taken things, to not act, would be unwise and in effect enabling or condoning said behavior.
I truly hope x11 will learn something from this, and grow as a result of it. If not, well then just rinse and repeat.

* I don’t think ANYONE should be censored from MGTOW unless they are CLEARLY here for recon purposes.In light of the x11 “punt” thread, and the threat of censorship, I would like to know:
What is the criteria for being censored from MGTOW?
If were going to have random members trying to silence others, then there must be a criteria for it.

Members are not allowed to be continually disruptive. Which is what he had been. This site has had a longstanding history of removing disruptive people from this site. Nothing says you can’t joke around, or have your arguments. But when you’ve made it clear you basically come here to troll, then it’s time to go. Go look at the OP. There’s a reason 30 people on this site agreed.

I had no issue with him personally other than him acting like an asshat, which I’ve called out before. However, in recent threads, he’d resulted to personal attacks (receiving some himself which he instigated by trolling) and generally being disruptive. I created that thread for the members of this site to speak up. Keymaster has continually told us, this is OUR site. That WE do the policing, and he simply does the cleanup. So that means it’s up to US to determine what is, and what is not acceptable here. So the thread was my way of giving the forum members of means of deciding X11’s fate; and also by giving him rope to hang himself as OldBill would say. Right on full display for Keymaster to see. He did just that.
Don’t be a woman, don’t spam, don’t doing anything illegal and don’t call key master a f~~~~~.(oops!)

The reason I ask is because if we were in a bar having this discussion it might go something like it did in this thread but X11 waluld have to his ass kicked by a few people.
But if we knew we were arguing in front of a few thousand watchers it would have ended very quickly.
