I like the question, don’t care if it’s a tuna question or not.

The way I see it, although it’s generally thought of as labels for men, it’s really more about behavior. More specifically the characteristics and behavior females perceive about a man. ‘Alpha’ are the characteristics and behaviors women are attracted to, while ‘beta’ are the characteristics and behaviors they do not like, or at least are indifferent to. You tend to be labeled one way or the other depending on what best describes you.

So where do MGTOW fit in? They don’t base their behaviors and characteristics on what appeals to women, opting instead to do whatever the hell they want. Thus the handsome man, with the six figure salary who wants nothing to do with women would be both alpha and MGTOW. The man who plays video games with a minimum wage job who wants nothing to do with women is both beta and MGTOW. The man who goes to the gym and reads comics daily but doesn’t want anything to do with women is MGTOW and confusing as hell to women. All three men are who they are because that’s who they want to be, what women like is irrelevant.

Aside: Part of the problem with marriage is that it forces men into beta behavior. It takes away a man’s power to lead, to have his own sovereignty, and protect that which he cares about. Just look at Brad Pitt? Alpha? Not after he was married. The bitch is controlling his life and all he cares about and there is virtually nothing he could do about it.

“Alpha” and “beta” have nothing to do with MGTOW: “alpha” and “beta” are words used to measure the “success” of men about getting women into bed.
Such parameter ranges from “mostly irrelevant” to “unexistent” for a MGHOW.

I dont pigeon hole too easily. My status is my business, my choice, and my definition of myself.
I have met too many people who like to classify themselves as the upper echelon of humanity in all aspects when in reality they were nothing more than the loudest bleating sheep.
If we insist on the canid referencing, I still would not fit in as I prefer to be a lone fox, vice a wolf pack member.
I can work well enough in a small pack, but I excel at surviving alone or a small group. The expectation of others for me to sacrifice myself for the packs protection/needs/desires is no longer a viable option for my survivability.
There is of course strength in numbers, however the larger the number the greater the risk of being placed at mortal risk by the selfishness of the ones who rely on and abuse the strength of others to provide for them.

This is all half-remembered. Usually I’m quite certain about what I’m talking about; I am deliberately disclaiming this post.

I vaguely recall that one purpose of a wolf pack is to have sufficient members so that the alpha couple can breed and raise a litter of pups in relative safety. The beta male may at some point challenge the alpha, although usually it’s about the alpha aging out or dying. Inbreeding is prevented by packs exchanging members on occasion, which also prevents tension from growing too strong between pack members who just don’t like each other. New packs also form. This provides a certain population control, and the time spent raising young is indicative of K genetic strategies (as compared to r strategies, such as by rabbits).

Omegas provide entertainment for a pack, often initiate play, and keep tensions and fighting down.

Other pack members may have roles that are also common, although we have not yet determined them. Not all packs will have clear alphas, as roles can change and switch. Wolves very very rarely kill each other; dogs will more often do so.

This is all from observed behavior; since you can’t hide from creatures who smell as well as wolves can, we don’t really know what unobserved behavior is like.

Wolves primarily eat mice in most regions, followed by rabbits. Large prey are generally limited to wounded animals, old animals, or young ones because of the risk in hunting. Wolves form part of an ecological web in which populations are controlled and explosive growth or collapse is minimized (as collapse could lead to extinction in certain regions).

In my own life, I was a “nice guy” when I was younger. I would have been classified as a beta.
After functioning as a human doormat for a while I developed alpha traits. I no longer was a doormat, but I still banged women on my terms. Both the “alpha” and “beta” terms were descriptive in how I interacted with women. If you’re a beta, then you are the bug. If you’re an alpha, then you are the windshield.

After becoming MGTOW, I stopped interacting with women as much as possible.

I personally believe the terms alpha and beta are useful from a semantics perspective.
But the guys are right- MGTOW’s tend to simply avoid these little bundles of drama. Thanks.
