I know what you mean. They didn’t have an easy time with me either. Religious fanatics always creep me out. Especially the ones trying to sell you bibles over the weekend. It cut right into Saturday morning cartoons as a kid.

I noticed they had this glazed over look, behind plastic smiles. If you put it into words, it would sound like “I don’t think for myself. Only what the cult tells me”. Never could stomach that.

I think this is true. Most of the time, religion will cause more division than harmony. But as you said, it’s important to call things as they are.

I like a lot of what Sam Harris says. Regarding the need to be able to criticize and examine religious doctrine.

I don’t apologize for my point of view or my own set of beliefs. Especially when it comes to those faiths practiced by people who are bent on causing us harm.
