I was away from work for about a month and returned yesterday. I bought myself a nice new pair of shoes over the holidays, which is somewhat out of character for me as I don’t give a s~~~ about superficial crap. I work with all c~~~s. I am the only man in the dept, and it is a nightmare. When I returned the first thing – the f~~~ing first thing – I get is “NICE new shoes!”. Literally 5 seconds after I walk in the door, after taking weeks off for medical reasons.

Imagine how f~~~ing hollow and shallow you have to be to even notice this at all – never mind as a priority.

It’s programming.

There’s a reason women say “you can tell a lot about a man from his shoes”. It’s all to assess our utility to them.

Right now I’m wearing worn out shoes that would be mistaken for something a homeless man would wear. The insides are so f~~~ed up from my activities that half of the inserts in there are torn to shreds.

I plan on buying new shoes in the future, but only because I have high arches. I also plan on running more, for my main exercise, so I need a good pair of running shoes as well.

I do have a nice pair of shoes that I only use for job interviews, but I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that superficial s~~~ most of the day. Even when I get my job in the future, I plan to be working from my house, so I can wear whatever the f~~~ I want to even during work hours.

I’ve always been into nice clothes, mainly for my own personal benefit, not because of what others thought about me. But a lot of times I’ve also been extremely lazy to walk around in nice clothes, so I tend to wear just black t-shirts and black jeans or cargo pants.

As a child this was one of the most annoying things about girls.

When I met one – like in the schoolyard – she would only spent one thousandth of a second on looking me in the face but then looked down and evaluated my shoes for many seconds at a time.

Girls were always staring at my shoes and then decide if I was worthy enough for her to talk to.
