Shrug, Russky is a big boy and can handle himself. We’ve all had our disagreements, my take is as long as it stays contained in one thread and doesn’t carry on in the other threads, there’s no issue.

But even the guys that passively aggressively carry on their bulls~~~ in other threads tend to back off after awhile or disappear. I’m not sure they are guys though.

Maybe you guys are getting there, I dunno. If it happens in other threads it’s a problem. If it gets too bad in this one, everyone is free to stop and let it die. It’s all technically off topic anyway.

I am so used to people dismissing my opinions as conspiracy theories and disregarding anything I have to say, that I don’t even have a reaction anymore or bother to go out of my way to defend myself. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I don’t hate any of you guys here and strongly oppose any name calling or turmoil.
I also noticed I tend to misinterpret things if I’m high or drunk, so I avoid reacting when I’m in altered states of cognition. I was guessing that maybe Joe is in a similar state, but it’s just a guess. If that’s the case – my advise would be to put away your keyboard when you’re high to avoid overreacting.

It’s clearly a fact that the US dropped the bomb under the justification that it would ultimately save lies. Whether or not you agree with that justification is an opinion. However the logic used to come to that justification is sound.

Really though, I don’t see the point in questioning it. It’s not as if it would be used to as justification to drop another bomb since there will certainly be a counterstrike and the US has plenty of other means to end a war that were not available back then. The scenario has completely changed.

The men that made that decision are not involved anymore, so finding blame or trying to punish the US, based on your opinion, is completely pointless as well.

Agreed, and the aggressive shutting down of your opinions in this thread is what set me off. That is all it was about for me really. I am not calling FACTS “OPINIONS” I am saying that your interpretation of the facts that lead to your OPINION on the matter does not make your OPINION a FACT. The FACT is I use many of the SAME FACTS as you do to come to my conclusion/opinion. People INTERPRET FACTS differently, that is why people have DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON THE SAME MATTERS. Considering the point of contention “Did we nuke to end the war and “save lives” or did we nuke to lead/bully post war” is not a topic that can be defined with a math equation. IN FACT BOTH CAN BE TRUE AT THE SAME TIME! And when you approach it as you have been here, that is where the problem arises.
