That’s the problem with the way relationships are framed to a man…authors always frame obtaining a relationship as: What does the man offer to the woman?
PUAs fall into this same gynocentric trap. They Peac~~~ (pun intended?) and parade around in a thirsty effort to compete for some woman’s attention.
However, no one ever asks the woman: What do you bring to the table?
Why do I ask? I’ve experienced criticism that I should be seeking a relationship and trying to compete for women’s attention…two things I refuse. I had two wives…I learned my lesson. Now, whenever I’m asked about relationships I respond with the following:
For me to commit to a woman I have the following five contingencies:
1. She cannot have any kind of mental health history. No seasonal affective disorder, no diagnosed depression, no history of seeing a counselor or mental health therapist. You get the point.
2. She cannot have any kind of criminal history. You’d be surprised how many women out there have a criminal record.
3. She cannot have children by more than one father. Lots of women out there have children with two or more fathers.
4. She must have her own Car/ Full-Time job/ home (no roommates or living with relatives). Lots of women cannot support themselves.
5. No drug history or addictions, even if in recovery. This includes binge drinking or women who get all nostalgic about their party years (i.e. C~~~ Carousel).
What’s funny, is that I (mid 40s) have never met a woman, over 30, who hasn’t had at least two of these strikes against her. These rules very effectively keep people from having the commitment conversation with me. Or for those who bring it up, it changes the subject quickly.
Well, my actual partner, less than 37 yo, meets all those criterias, and she’s even better regarding point 3, because she cannot have children. Regarding point 5 sometimes we get drunk together but she isn’t addicted nor I’m (we get drunk with such kind of things: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragolino and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brachetto – those aren’t drinks for alcohol addicted 😀 ).
Still: she’s divorced, she get alimonies from her ex, the house she own was the family house mostly paid by her ex.
I have more income than her, two houses both larger and more expensive than her house.
In Italy there are alimonies for cohabitation.
No way I’ll start a cohabitation with her.
