Jiu-jitsu, lifting weights, guitar, riding Harley, pool maintenance, reading ( mostly sci-fi or fantasy, some history)…

Manly men defining them by doing Manly things and even speaking in manly tongues.
Eff me. Eff you guys.

this is a mens club if i ever saw one.

Anonymous8Listening to records, mostly Jazz lately, but Hip-Hop is what got me collecting.
Reading, I prefer non-fiction, usually history.
Physical fitness, I use body weight and gravity exercises mostly.
Posting and reading here to keep my mind sharp and to learn valuable life lessons.
Watching good Films, documentary or feature, so long as they are honest and interesting.
Walking through the city before dawn, when it’s just beginning to stir. When the streets are empty except for other creatures of the night and newspaper delivery men. For me, it’s the only time of day the city is not a vexation for the soul.
Camping and being in nature are things I enjoy but seldom have the opportunity to do, I should remedy that. I walk in parks and nature trails, but what I really miss is choosing a site, setting up camp, building a fire and cooking some good meat on it. Sitting around a campfire is one of life’s simple pleasures.

I wish there was something like that around me. I would enjoy that atmosphere.
I blasted death metal so loud that the floor of my house was vibrating
I love death metal too. I can nail Slayer’s tone with a PRS McCarty and an Orange Tiny Terror.
McCarty and Les Paul did not like each other so I have one of each. My 58 Historic nails Jimmy Page’s tone.
Both of those guitars cost about as much as a not good enough for any entitled pumpkin’s engagement ring. I paid $3700 for both used. My entire guitar and gun collection still would not buy a good enough engagement ring.
I lucked out their – I got away with a $2500 engagement ring for the ex pumpkin.
I have a few nice guitars – a 90s Ibanez (7 string, double humbucker and locking bridge); all the rage when I was in high school in the mid 90s when I bought it), a Flying V, and a Gibson. I love my marshal tube amp; you get a warm quality to the sound that just does not compair. I’m dreading when the tubes blows.
Plus I have a 12 string acoustic with piezo pickups, and a classical guitar. I like guitars because I view them as functional works of art.
In high school I use to be an absolute guitar fanatic. I’m an unrepentant minimalist, but this is one of my few vices.
