If you can find one (yeah right) the old S&W 610 is a revolver chambered for 10mm. You need moon-clips to load it but that is just a poor man’s speed loader so its not really a disadvantage except you need a special tool to remove spent brass.

Thanks for the suggestion, my friend, but I’ve tried that and the only thing that worked was either stretching the spring back out or replacing it, but no matter what, if I leave them loaded for even just a few days, the springs compress again, sometimes to the point that they won’t even push the slide lock up after the last round is fired. Other than that, it’s a wonderful handgun and I like it very much.

I thought the FBI gave up on the 10mm because of too much recoil and that’s how the .40 caliber was born…..also known as the 10mm short, or 10mm light.

Well there is another solution: If you have a machine shop near you they can MAKE a spring out of heavier gauge wire stock and that will cure the problem too.

True about the FBI. They demanded a more powerful round after a failed shoot out in 84, they got it and then complained it was too powerful. Same complaint the military made about the colt Delta Elite. Idiots.

Hmm…..now THAT would be worth the money. I know we have machine shops around here, but can they make the springs? That doesn’t sound like something just any old machine shop can do.

That’s why I’ve always called the FBI limp wristers. LOL I’ve had people tell me you can’t double tap with a .45 auto because of the recoil. I have no problem at all and I’m sure the 10mm would be almost as easy, though I’ve never tried with it.
