New American Civil War? Some people think it’s already begun
From celebrities calling on citizens to take to the streets, to members of Congress calling for the public harassment of White House officials, to mob justice at restaurants — is the US heading toward a new kind of Civil War?
Well, some people think the seeds of a new Civil War have already been sown — and in a recent article, University of Tennessee Law Professor Glenn Harlan Reynolds argued in a USA Today column that this new war is indeed “well underway.”

I’m a longtime student of the Civil War. I’ve published several magazine articles. The U.S. today very much resembles the late 1850’s. I expect to see violence in the halls of Congress anytime. And yes, All it going to take is a Harpers Ferry type act of violence and people are going to start arming themselves and forming militias. I fully expect that will happen in 2020 with the next election. I think it will more resemble Northern Ireland in the 70’s and 80’s. Look for full scale destructive riots, assasinations,terror bombings, and gun fighting in the streets. It will start on the West Coast and quickly spread to the NE. Demo enclaves in Red states, like Chicago and Atlanta will be ground zero battlefields.

If it does go CW2, nukes would be real useful in ending it quickly… a nuke in the middle of Kansas wouldn’t do much to hurt nationalist Americans, but a nuke in the middle of a place like San Francisco would gut the ranks of Marxists and identity-politics practice.

I don’t know how Blacks & Mexicans continue to blockvote Democrat…especially after several years of clearly seeing the Liberal Media trying to cause race wars. The Liberal Media needs to be dragged into the street and executed, LITERALLY.
We’re not likely to see that happen but the sooner they kill the people spreading propaganda, the sooner we can have a safe and peaceful society FOR ALL PEOPLE.
I hope they do elect someone like Kamala Harris as President. Actually, I wish Hillary would have won. I think their may be skirmishes and such here and there, but I think there will be several factors that will keep this resembling an actual war.
Geography – Sides are generally city vs rural, with a lot of mixing going on.
Comfort level of citizens – Both sides are living relatively comfy lives that they don’t want to lose. It’s one thing to go to protest on a Saturday afternoon, it’s another to give up everything for a cause.
Strength of the military – The US military would be able to quickly put down anything resembling a militia that could possibly take over the government.
Foreign Interest – China, Russia, etc would see a significant weakness in the US as an opportunity to invade, either US or someplace else, with th US not being able to intervene.
Politicians – politicians cannot benefit from a civil war, therefore they will switch positions and make compromises to prevent it from happening when it gets too close.
Sheep – a huge swath of the population will shift positions to whatever is popular. They are no where near as loyal to cause as they would have you believe.Ok. Then do it.
With John Browns raid on Harpers Ferry the south came to the stunning realization that White men would fight, kill, and die to end slavery. The southern militia system, which was nothing more than a bunch of Saturday afternoon drinking clubs became a real threat to national security. Harpers Ferry gave birth to the Confederate army. IMO it was the most important single incident that caused the CW. Sometime next year a Harpers Ferry is bound to happen. Should a full blown left wing candidate win the White House along with the left gaining control of both houses of Congress, coming in vowing to abolish the first and second amendments, throwing the borders wide open, ordering house to house gun confiscation, then all hell is going to break lose. Which could include a revolt in the military.
I don’t know how Blacks & Mexicans continue to blockvote Democrat…especially after several years of clearly seeing the Liberal Media trying to cause race wars. The Liberal Media needs to be dragged into the street and executed, LITERALLY.
Generally speaking, I think people like being involved in a race war. It gives them a sense of solidarity with their race, victimhood status, excuse for all your personal failings, and gives a face to your enemy. Honestly, that’s a way more appealing option than taking personal responsibility for everything miserable in your life.
Sure, blame the media, but it’s not like they really have to try very hard to instigate this stuff. Same goes with community leaders and politicians. Even if they tried to solve issues with reason, they are going to fall back on the lowest common denominator.

Much the way women underestimate what men do for them, liberals underestimate what conservatives do for them. Liberals want a Civil War? OK.
Do it without food, because farmers and ranchers are pretty conservative. And so are the truck drivers that take the food from the farm or ranch into the distribution channels. And even if you can reach the distribution channels, you have to send it through rural American to get it to the cities. And there are enough of those conservatives that know how to ambush a truck full of food in the middle of nowhere on a highway.
Get ready to do it without water. Because you could travel upstream and either poison your water or blow up a dam and send it all to you at once.
Get ready to do it without electricity. Again, the grid runs through the middle of nowhere, and conservatives own nowhere. They can cut your ass off and live without electricity way longer than city folks can.
And by the way, who owns all the guns? The conservative country folk. So come try to stop them with a baseball bat and a mask. You’ll just get a bullet between your eyes.
Liberals wouldn’t last a week against conservatives in a Civil War. Conservatives would just choke off the cities and let the gangs take care of the rest.

Once an actual war is being fought, that is likely to be done.

You can’t abolish the first and second amendments by controlling the white and both houses though. You’d need to get support of 2/3 of the states (I think) which is not going to be easy at all. It would take quite a bit of time. And although the left seems the 1st amendment is one sided, I don’t see them abolishing it.
If things start going this route, I think you’ll see states looking to secede, military personal will decide whether they want to represent their state or US government.
But you also need to remember that corporations would be destroyed by a civil war and politicians work for them.

As far as the US goes, they’ll send in ‘peacekeeping forces’ to one side of the other, probably which ever side doesn’t have US military support. They’ll make sure they don’t leave without getting some big economic wins in the process.

From recent history, it looks like Putin would like to regain some of Eastern Europe. Maybe wrong, but that’s what it’s looked like.
And yes, China doesn’t have a ton of military success, but that was before they adopted communism. They definitely want Taiwan back, and still have issues with Japan.
