If it already exists, apologies, I haven’t seen it.

It only makes sense; some members can never get enough of one another. I understand the ‘community’ feeling will be damaged to some extent, but blocking a member so that you no longer see his posts can come a long way in preventing the outbursts that we are regularly experiencing in the forums.

What do you think? Should we have a block feature? Please let your valuable opinion be known.

I can only speak for me but..

It’s very facef~~~ and t~~~ter. It’s not free and open. The right to offend should be seen and heard by all.

It’s getting very close to a ‘safe space’

I takes all sorts to make this place and everyone has a right to be heard.

So let’s take someone like @snake

He can be brash, harsh even insulting …. but that’s his way.

He says what he feels and no punches pulled … and WE need to hear that.

I love the guy because I know it’s his heart and soul speaking.

Personally I’d say no, and I’m not sure what you mean by regular outbursts?

First even though you may not always agree with someone’s attitude and opinions there will be times even the biggest asshole will say something profound that makes you stop and think if only for a minute. if you’ve blocked him you’ll never know.

Second we’re all big enough and ugly enough to be able to handle people who have different opinions to ourselves in a mature and professional manner, most of us likely do it all the time at our workplaces.

Finally if there’s a very easy way to handle outbursts, namely for the individual about to burst to think before they hit the submit button, for those lacking that critical cognitive capability who want to keep starting fights over stupid s~~~, we have Keymaster and the genie.

I’d hope people would act like adults and not spam 6-7 topics in a row, place the topic in the right subforum, not create baiting topics, etc. But I could wish for that in one hand and s~~~ in the other, and at the end of today, all I would have is a s~~~post to throw.

I’m in total agreement of this. Blocking people is what T~~~ter c~~~s do and I’m definitely not for it. It just smells of “safe space” all over.

My only concern would be for the bar itself. Other than that, I might care to join in the brawl or simply look the other way, or take a walk outside for a while while the situation resolves itself.
But I have no worries about our particular bar here, since we do have a very good bartender by the name of Keymaster and quite a few bad ass bouncers that can wipe the floor at will with any troublemakers.
