For myself, I don’t care what soccer players make, because I have next to no interest in the sport. I would like more scoring. Remove the goalies and shrink the goal, and do whatever else is needed. That is my view. Others can feel differently.

Here’s why this is bulls~~~: we don’t have a Men’s Soccer League and a Women’s Soccer League.

Not really.

What we have is an open soccer league and a women only soccer league. Men are not allowed to try out for the women only league, but there’s nothing preventing women from playing in the open league. Nothing except their own lack of talent, that is.

If female soccer players really want to be paid the same as the men, they should try out for the higher paying league. But they’re not doing that. What they’ve done is create a limited access, low expectation, training wheels, kiddy pool league just for themselves so they can pretend to be winners and champions, and now they’re stamping their feet and throwing a temper tantrum because it doesn’t pay the same as the real thing.

Exactly this is why in my earlier post I talked about equal skill for equal pay and it’s just not there so this is all just female entitlement and nonsense.

Professional Athletes to a large degree have their salaries determined through viewership. If the viewership is large then they are more likely to be offered higher average salaries, if the viewership is low…the average salary offered will be low.

In addition to salary, Sauer pointed out, the women get benefits the men don’t receive, like severance pay when they are cut from the team, health insurance, vision, dental, pregnancy leave – with 50 percent pay – and a guaranteed salary when they are injured.

Sounds like they have a better deal than the men already. Plus they reveal that the men’s league brings in TWICE the amount of revenue.
