From what I’ve learned in neurology, SSRI don’t help directly. They merely increases neurogenesis (a positive side effect) which make you feel better. At most SSRI work as well as an active placebo. Active placebo is stronger than regular placebo because you keep believing in the placebo due to the side effect of the drugs (rather than sugar pill)
My professor also asked the class “should you continue to SSRI knowing it doesn’t work to patient?” Of course the class was split on this. It is up to you.
I’m sorry if I’ve caused you any trouble, Bill.
You’ve been no trouble to me. I’m more worried about you being trouble to yourself.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
I’m sorry if I’ve caused you any trouble, Bill.

I agree with OB! No trouble, we love to help young men out and watch them fly. You seem to be a good kid, so come back often, but, you will need to become a man soon.
When you find yourself in the majority, it's time to reflect.
Stop apologizing. Saying sorry all the time is c~~~ish.
Just remember and do better next time.

Well first of all, it should be assumed ANY AND ALL serious advice you obtain from the internet will yield long term negative outcomes.
Now having said that, if ANYONE told me I need to take a pill when I didn’t want to, I would enjoy spitting it back into their face. — even if that person is my mother. But that’s just me.
I also do not suffer from “OCD” or “ADHD” or “lactose intolerance” or an allergy to “gluten” and believe much of these diagnosis to be complete monkey s~~~. But I am also not a physician or a doctor.
But I DO know that I was once in Pharmacy (like CVS) buying razor blades and shave cream when I was approached by a woman in a white lab coat holding a clipboard who asked me “what kind of medication I take”.
“Nothing” I said.
“Oh come on…. you MUST take SOME kind of medication.”
“No I MUST not.”
“Not even for a headache? Or a sleep aid? Or mood elevator?”
“Correct. For a headache, I would just drink a quart of water and take a nap. Why are you so sure I must be taking something? Are you telling me that most people you ask are on some kind of medication? “
EYES WIDE NODDING.
“Lemme guess. Mostly women, right?”
NODDING EYES WIDER.
This story is totally irrelevant to your situation, but it makes a point. And in my travels I have seen female medicine cabinets filled to hilt with all kinds of s~~~ for this ailment or that condition…. and it blows my f~~~ing mind. I have heard women say things like “I can’t eat this”…. or “I can’t drink that” which is also a bunch of crap.
Women are such f~~~ing hypochondriacs about everything compared to men and even my mother ( who was a registered nurse for 30+ years ) would say “men don’t go to the doctor enough”. To which I would reply “or women go way too f~~~ing often, because they think everything is wrong with them all the time”.
I don’t listen to women anymore about how they “cant” eat this or “can’t” drink that, because it’s goddam theatrical production at every meal. So I couldn’t begin to offer any REAL help here, except to say that in my experience, it’s all bogus. I think I knew ONE woman with a genuine nut allergy who would die from eating peanut butter…. but that’s about it. The rest of them all sound like this to me.
You’re 17. It’s pretty unlikely that you have a condition SO SEVERE that your mother needs to run around screaming her head off and threatening to call the police because you won’t take your prozac.
Does she make a big production out of you not eating your vegetables too?????
There is only one thing a woman hates more than a man.
And that’s — >> a man not under her control.Take what you will from this, and throw the rest away. If you’re really in a bad way, go see a second doctor and get a second opinion. Or a third. Because I would need 5 different doctors telling me exactly the same thing before I consider taking a pill for anything. I’m not kidding.
The American Medical Association would love nothing better than to have everyone hooked on some kind of prescription or another, and they love to force-feed boys Ritalin in schools. Time for MEN to hold their middle fingers up to that s~~~.
Thank you for the amazing advice, Keymaster. When I was younger, I read all about Big Pharma and how they scam Americans with placebos and grossly barbaric practices. I pledged not to follow them, and that hasn’t changed nor will it ever change.

Piece of advice. Don’t use smileys or multiple one-line posts so you don’t look like a c~~~ who’s trying to bump her rating numbers up
I’m telling you this, because if you are a c~~~ – we’ll find other ways to uncover youThanks for the advice, Russ. I’m not a woman (and thank the Heavens that I’m not one) by any means. To prove this, I’ll propose a vision of the future. Next year, after I am out of high school, I plan to major in Computer Science and Mathematics when I get to college. A woman would get the beta males in the class to do her work for her. If she couldn’t survive the class, she would transfer to something like Psychology, Communications, or (heaven forbid) Gender Studies.
I don’t know if this contradicts my points before, but this should be sufficient evidence of me being a man.

Oh, we all know your a man. Only a man would be fighting like your fighting. He’s just trying to get rid of the gay smiley faces.?
When you find yourself in the majority, it's time to reflect.
You have to understand that c~~~s constantly try to infiltrate this community posing as men to undermine us with slander or prove a point, or just because (check out the litter box subforum to see proof)

I’ve been keeping my eye on him for a while. Nothing blatant so far. He’s a weird democrat (like IGMOW), but hey – nobody’s perfect. Keeping my eyes peeled

I turned 17 last month, but I’m pretty sure I can make my way in the world just fine.
So you lied to join here? Great way to start, kid.
Anyway, you’re pretty sure you can make you way? You’re asking for advise on how to – and I quote – run away from home. Beaver Cleaver “runs away from home” because he’s eight f~~~ing years old. Bobby Brady “runs away from home” because he’s eight f~~~ing years old too. You’re seventeen, start acting like it. You’re moving out, not running away.
Chronologically, you’re allegedly an adult in many ways. Mentally, you’re still Beaver Cleaver and Bobby Brady. It’s well past time to start changing that.
At 17 I had a job, car, and apartment with my friends. At 17 your Mommy is still medicating you.
At 17, you have limited autonomy over your movements and body. Not as much as an adult, but more than an eight year old. In many states, you can leave home and not be forced to return. In several states you can make medical decisions for yourself. You need to research what the statutes are in you specific state, you could very well legally veto being placed on Prozac.
Move out, sleep on a friend’s couch, learn what your rights are, and start growing up.
To be honest, you describe me accurately. Everyone tells me that I need to grow up, but I don’t know how. If you don’t mind, I would like some advice on growing up. I’m not saying this to be condescending or languid, but in a serious manner, as someone who wants to better himself (that’s one of the reasons I went MGTOW).
When I asked Keymaster and the other admins about joining, they said that they couldn’t prevent me from doing so, but that if I couldn’t handle what was here, I could leave at any time. Here’s the original thread:
<iframe class=”wp-embedded-content” sandbox=”allow-scripts” security=”restricted” style=”position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);” src=”/forums/topic/my-story-and-future/embed/#?secret=kQUZP4mSw8″ data-secret=”kQUZP4mSw8″ width=”500″ height=”282″ title=”“My Story and Future” — MGTOW” frameborder=”0″ marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no”></iframe>
I’ve ultimately decided against running away from home; I seriously thought about it, and I’ve decided to overcome my problems myself- without the use of Prozac.
I’m actually to graduate high school one year early and study abroad in order to save on tuition. I’m probably going to study in Europe. I can get my car, house, and everything else later.
Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone I can stay with, as I do not have any friends. However, I will make sure to be diligent in researching the laws in my state on medication. I’m sure that my state has primitive laws in this regard, but I’ll make sure to become more educated on the matter.
I’m sorry if I’ve caused you any trouble, Bill. I don’t want be a nuisance on this site, and just want to change for the better.
Your doing good. I don’t know who you are or what you are like. But check out these options:
Go sailing, any yacht club has postings for crew members to sail free, you can get around the world.
One way ticket to Chile. Make it hard, you will find something.
A few years back you could join the military and end up on Omaha beach with a landing craft opening the ramp and a 95% chance of death. My point? Your young and it ain’t thaaaaat bad. Watch The Godfather, when Vito comes to America alone. Watch it
Thanks, Chaff. I’m still deciding on whether or not I should take a gap year and explore the world before I embark on my quest to become a legendary engineer.
I may enroll in sailor school down in the BVI (British Virgin Islands, where I am a Belonger to the territory; this essentially means that I am considered a full citizen, and can work, buy and purchase real estate, etc.), or go backpacking through Europe, or even commit myself to a year of self-studying and learning as I pick up vocational skills such as gunsmithing, locksmithing, electrical proficiency, and survival skills. After all, in this world, one needs to be able to live off the land, like the cowboy in my profile picture.
I don’t know if I will go through with it; I definitely see the use of it, especially since my classes right now are sucking up my time.
I’m going to definitely pick up the Godfather and watch it sometime over the weekend; I’ve heard about the movie, but I’ve never really seen it for myself.
Believe it or not, West Point and the USCGA have noticed me on Cappex, this site where colleges can find and tag certain candidates who they want to convince to go to their school. I have images if you need proof.

When I was researching the drug, I did come across some studies that prove that Prozac is no more effective than a placebo. I’ll link to them later.

Thanks for the concern, Bill.
I have a tendency to get in my own way at times, but I try to set myself straight by looking up to mavericks like Tesla and Musk, taking in their ideology and applying to my life.

My dad actually told me that once. It’s a nasty habit of mine and one that I’ve kept in me since I was in middle school. I’ll try to cut down on that in the future.

I don’t think anyone on this site would tell you not to take a year to re-cage your head. Actually, it’s sounds really fun and would balance your obvious academic ability. Got to have balance. I say go to BVI. You will find something. Also, for the movies you can just go to 123movies???? I think? And download The Godfather series.

Anonymous3I’m actually to graduate high school one year early and study abroad in order to save on tuition. I’m probably going to study in Europe. I can get my car, house, and everything else later.
Moving a continent away will definitely help you to grow up. And medical system is not that crazy here, doctors don’t stuff people with antidepressant zombie drugs.
For “living somewhere” a lot of people will be in the same situation. They get to know each other and rent apartments together. Or get a bed in a dormitory. that’s cheap, but 3-4 people in one room is not comfortable. University students can and lot of them does work here (there are student-worker agencies who can give simple works) But for a bigger career, join the research group / whatever company at an early age, and be there learn all the detail while working small tasks for them. I’ve done that at age of 19, it really worked in the last 11 years for me.
And in Europe, if you have really good grades, then you receive “motivation money” for that. Go for it. And most of University is free.
You most likely don’t need a car here for now, public transport is way better, and cheaper, and you can also ride a bike (good ways in most of the cities). Car is a luxury (and a sink of money) for most young people.

If it’s known by doctors and psychiatrists that SSRI’s are just an active placebo then it’s immoral to prescribe them. Psychiatry is a malpractice which needs to be abolished.
Most illness and disease is caused by inflammation and “mental disorders” are no different. I recall a study where exercise was more effective at treating OCD than anti-depressants. Anti-depressants plus exercise was less effective than exercise alone. So they have a deleterious effect.
SSRI’s enhance fear and anxiety in animal studies and are linked to increased violence and suicide in humans. To prescribe them in the treatment of anxiety is f~~~ing sadistic.
The older anticholinergic anti-depressants more than double your risk of dementia and cause short term memory problems.
I wish i was as switched on at 17 as you Mysterious Man. You’re no more crazy than any other asshole out there ha.

The ripe ol’ age of 17… aren’t we supposed to be Neurotic as hell, obsessed with games, girls, science related stuff. Aren’t we supposed to be odd? Isn’t that right around the time that we start to discover our future awkward (and later, amazing) self? We always try to label s~~~ and prescribe it something, when the truth of the matter is we are just coming of age and there isn’t an easy way around it. I sure is hell didn’t want to spend it in some medicated state all doped up… for what?
Funny, isn't it? How women thrive on a mans time, attention and resources, while simultaneously telling him he isn't enough...
