New era, no more war : Two Koreas agree on complete denuclearization [1]

    Russia Today
    27 Apr, 2018

When the leaders of North and South Korea reached across the Military Demarcation Line to shake hands on Friday, they symbolically — if fleetingly — united a peninsula that has been divided for decades.

The handshake between the two leaders marked the latest milestone in a rapid rapprochement after months of global fears about a nuclear conflict.

A new era of peace is beginning, according to a declaration signed by the leaders of North and South Korea after their first meeting in over a decade. Both nations are aiming to completely denuclearize the Korean peninsula.

“South and North Korea affirmed their shared objective of achieving a nuclear-free Korean peninsula through complete denuclearization,” reads the declaration signed by the leaders of the two countries, as cited by Yonhap.

“There will be no more war on the Korean peninsula, and a new age of peace has opened,” the document adds.

The two sides also agreed to hold multi-party talks, involving the US and China, in their push for a full-scale truce. Pyongyang and Seoul are also to have high-level military talks in May.

In an ambitious statement after the signing ceremony, Kim said he hopes that the two Koreas will reunite. The states separated after the WWII and have remained hostile since the Korean War ended with an armistice, rather than a peace treaty, in 1953.

“Terminating the current state of the truce and establishing a firm peace regime is a historic task that [the two Koreas] can no longer delay,” the leaders pointed out.

The latest attempt to ease tensions in the region comes after years of UN sanctions against the North for its repeated nuclear tests and missiles launches. Previous attempts to sit with Pyongyang at the negotiations table were made in the format of ‘Six Party Talks,’ but those many rounds gave only a temporary break in exchange for fuel aid. In 2009, the North withdrew from the negotiations and resumed nuclear tests.

The thaw in intra-Korean relations began ahead of the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea. In January, the two countries met for much anticipated talks, the first in two years, and shortly after the nations formed a joint women’s ice-hockey team and marched under a unified banner at the Olympics opening ceremony.

The rare show of unity came after months of mounting tensions in the region, including through third parties such as the US. Washington has threatened Pyongyang with “fire and fury,” sent its military armada to the region, and frequently held war games there – much to the anger of North Korea.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Friday Japan welcomed the summit between the leaders of North and South Korea as a positive step. He also “strongly expects” Pyongyang to take concrete steps to carry out its promises. Japan would stay in close contact with the United States and South Korea over North Korea, Abe said.

The PM added that Japan was “absolutely not” being left out of the denuclearization process, Reuters said. The North and South Korean leaders said they would pursue trilateral meetings with the US and that meetings involving the two Koreas, the US and China were also possible

This is truly a historic day. Despite all efforts by Washington to start a war, the Korean people on both sides have spoken. Even Japan has acknowledged the inevitable, as it brings economic hope to the entire region under China’s OBOR.

It remains to be seen what kind of false flag Washington is going to create to stop this. The North Korean goblin is Washington’s last best hope for war in Asia. :

The plan makes perfect sense actually. Give up something you don’t need to get something that was taken away by force. More on this in due course.

Nuclear bombs are a deterrent from war. Not to be used in war. It does not make much sense to do so in current times. JUST ONE submarine with 24 FULLY ARMED missiles would be enough to make the entire country inhabitable. And that’s if they are nice an not loading them for Long term Radioactive contamination. The good news is that land would be REALLY CHEAP and would be great for mining things.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

Maybe, the N. Korean Tyrant wants to try and have a nice long prosperous reign, and is trying to insure that by making Peace.

IT’S A TRAP! DPRK giving up their nukes would be a huge mistake imo. We never attack a nuclear armed country.

Re-unification will not happen. There are so many underground tunnels and facilities there no matter how many UN inspections teams, etc, are let in there it would be impossible to know fully that they denuclearized.

China appears to have given Un some serious marching orders imo. I wouldn’t getting too ambitious on high hopes just yet.

Think all of this has much more to do with US/China then is being said out in the open. Opening up NK would be one hell of a boon for China, in the process the US gets a political win.
However……one would be in serious error not to be wary of the only fat man in NK.

    Bulls~~~ pure and simple.
He came home awake, totally broken:
    Blind
    Deaf
    Feeding tube
Bottom teeth rearranged as though with a pair of pliers
    Strapped to a gurney
    Moaning loudly
    Screaming
    Violently shaking
