Hmm. I can’t really say I’m surprised, though. I guess the jaded part of my psyche is going, “See? Told ya.” Still disappointed, though.

I doubt that Assad used chemical weapons at all. Why? Because he has everything to lose and so little to gain. Why would he risk losing everything just to kill a few more ISIS terrorists? The Russians are helping doing that just fine. Syria isn’t in the danger it used to be. ISIS is losing. Why would he launch chemical weapons and risk retaliation from the US? Doesn’t make any sense at all to me.

And there is scant evidence that Assad used chemical weapons a few years ago, either. I personally think it was a false-flag op to drum up American support for regime change. Kinda like the WMD/Bush thing a few years before that.

I think Trump is likely falling victim to the deep state, the real rulers of this country, such as the large American contractors, military companies, oil cartels, central bankers, etc. All of those entities want very much to keep the missiles flying and the bombs falling.

I agree, the American government should stand down its troops from across the globe.

Regarding WW2, part of the problem is that many generations of Americans have been told that if we hadn’t gone to war, Hitler would have conquered the world. As a student of WW2 history, particularly on the Eastern Front, I’m persuaded that WW2 would have resulted in a stalemate with no clear winner. Without US support, Britain would have signed an armistice with Germany, and Russia and Germany would have slugged it out for a few more years before they both quit out of sheer exhaustion. But with US support, Russia had the momentum to overwhelm Germany, especially once the US opened a second front in the west.

Bad things happen all around the world. But governments should not coerce citizens to fight their wars, even for what may appear to be just causes. If you want to pick up a gun and go fight, then I won’t stop you. But don’t force me to go, and don’t force me to pay for your trip if you want to go.

I’m not against trying to help, by peaceful means whenever possible. I’m against wars being fought with my tax dollars when I have no say in the matter.

Very disappointed. I might have to change my name: apparently you CAN stump Trump. Hopefully he’s got some real evidence that Syria did use chemical weapons, but it looks like a pretty obvious hoax to me.

Furthermore, let’s say Syria really did use chemical weapons, even though it’s winning the war, doesn’t need chemical weapons, has promised not to use chemical weapons, has denied that they used chemical weapons, and knows full well what the response would be if they did use chemical weapons: even so, Trump himself said America first. Being the world’s police is only hurting our own economy and making everyone else hate our guts.

This is a tough one. This is, I think the second time they are gassing people over there, no? Obozo did nothing the first time, so that’s a green light to keep gassing people. If Trump lets it stand, every country will be gassing everyone pretty soon. Trump really had no choice but to send a clear and immediate message, then.

Also, Trump is a businessman who likes making money. He’s not a politician who goes around killing his enemies or destroying their lives. And honestly, the reason we are all disappointed in him so far is because he is not becoming the ruthless dictator we hired him to be. There’s no blood yet. No “special prosecuter”, etc…

Turned out he is soft, with a big heart, and doesn’t want to arrest literally everyone in government. However, now that he has ordered his first kill, maybe he will be the president we want him to be, and actually become the law and order candidate he said he would be.
