Thread Etiquette- what are the unwritten 'rules'

I guess it is up to the MGTOW themselves. For me, I would prefer not to have silly arguments with people. Whether the poster is genuine or trolling if I think they are full of it I tend to just not post.

I have been on many forums over the past 10 or so years and I think when the forum becomes too toxic people stop posting or just leave altogether. So the idea of all these guys just telling each other to f~~~ off isn’t very productive to me.

A lot of forums discourage double posting. Posting right after your own post. Sometimes it happens on accident or just happens but don’t make a habit of it.

I posted a pic of some animals doing it when I first started here and I got the hit with the censure stick.

I can only tell you my approach. I summarized it in a post yesterday. I’m a scientist by training and tend to stick to the facts. I have some experience in life and try to share my experiences but I realize that these are just me.

But I think these true stories are the most moving posts.

What I wrote in another post about how I approach a post.

I try to keep my posts factual with summary, quotes and important facts laid out in the intro to the post then follow up with article quotes, linked images or video’s.

Just posting a video, while sometimes excellent does not give our readers who don’t have time or don’t like video’s to participate in the threads.

Develop some thick skin, add summaries and your opinion rather than someone else’s video and why it’s important.

Not talking on your post about your feelings about the matter makes you appear lazy.

DocDJ, I have been assessed as having Asperger’s Residual type. The residual monica is given, as my occupational functioning is reasonable. Faking being neurotypical can help you bet through life. However, social relationships definitely challenge, and mentally drain the Aspie. Fortunately, today has never been a better time for Aspies, as our talents are adaptive in society. I lurked here for a week or so and joined because I needed to. People fancy MGTOW a “movement” because they notice how we gather anonymously, yet share the same fundamental insights and perspective. “Going Their Own Way” may imply motion of a sort, but the empty chair analogy is impeccable. We are a conspiracy. The word literally means “to breathe together”. I guess breathing is a form of motion, but we are not a movement. Gyow, brother.

The general rule around here is that it’s ok to call people morons, simps, idiots etc. If your name is OldBill because he’s “an established member”. That means it’s ok for him to treat people like s~~~. And if you complain about it, expect to be called a “whiner”. Of course there are many people here who don’t feel that way, considering my post calling for OldBill to be purged from this forum received many up votes. But typically those people don’t post.

Don’t be afraid to post what you want, expect many different responses, agreements and disagreements.

If you can handle hearing all these in extremes, just agree to disagree when arguing a point sometimes
