Along the boarder ranchers have had to weld close water wells, that still get broken into.
Watch towers might work random along the line. Or combo at patrol stations. anywhere along the line a guard is not with in getting to before it gets ripped out will get ripped out.

Kind of what I’m thinking. I do somewhat like the symbolism of a wall, perhaps partially because many people hate the symbolism. I also thinks it acts a deterrent from trying to cross the border. Cameras don’t stop people from trying.

Of course, the border is only part of the problem, as many of the illegal aliens got here by flying in and overstaying their visas. For that, I think there needs to be a solid e-verify system and more restrictions on sending money in and out of the country. Even then, you won’t catch them all.

It needs to start somewhere though, so that those who think the sky will fall if we actually enforce our immigration laws can see that life will go on.

The watch towers will be built at set distances and will be complete with armed guards and response units.

There are various things that can be done to stop the vandalism problem.

The laser detectors I know of work up to 500 metres line of site.

If Trump does build a wall you still need such a system.

I think they really need to make the southern border and probably parts of the northern one training grounds for troops. Those trying to break in are enemy forces that are targets. As long as corporate profits are what influence Government and birth rates are in decline neither party will really be onboard with slowing down the rate of immigration. This is all talk at all times from both sides.
