Well guys, the reason the judge has allowed her to remain on bail while she takes her appeal may well be because the law IS unclear whether the conduct is a criminal offense. This was my original point. The DA may have been using a statute in a novel and creative way that might be unprecedented in that state. Which makes it an open legal question of the type that appeals courts are uniquely able to address. Clearly it was a vile, s~~~ty thing she did and it’s just as clear that the boy’s estate has a strong “wrongful death” case for money damages in a civil lawsuit. But that doesn’t necessarily make it a crime. Again: I’m not taking sides here, guys. Just sharing what I happen to know.

Understood and agree. Now that said, it’s the bigger picture that bothers me. The pussy pass in full effect, everywhere you look. I saw a story on the news yesterday that last month there were 11 children that died of heat exhaustion from being left in the car on a hot day. 11! The most in any month in American history.

Does anyone out there really not know that you don’t leave a kid in a hot car? Have you not seen this on the news every time it happens? But when you don’t charge mommy with murdering her child, you aren’t sending a strong message to take your kid with you.
