Absolutely, needs vs wants is a crucial dichotomy.
Those Ford’s are nice and get good gas mileage, good call.
I got a 2 litre petrol titanium in grey(so with our fuel prices in uk its a bit thirsty) – handles and steers surprisingly well.

I’m a materialistic f~~~, and I take pride in it.
But, I live within my means. I’ll never finance anything! If I can’t pay cash for it, than I can’t afford it.
I’ve heard stories of people financing Bentley’s, and yet, they live in basements.
Mostly guys, why? Because they want to impress bitches, and ultimately, to get a piece of ass.
You see, women don’t care about real wealth. They don’t care if you owned a business that generate a million dollar a month. They have to see PROOF. They have to see you in a high end sports car!
If you own that million dollar business, yet you drive a beat up pick up truck, they won’t even notice you. But, the broke basement dwelling bastard, who financed the Bentley, will be drowning in pussy.
I like pussy, but f~~~ that.
I love cars, but I’ll be buying them with cash, and work on them as a hobby. If a bitch dig my ride, and wants to give me some ass, I’ll take it.
Never finance anything! Because you don’t know the future. You might be healthy and employed today, and tomorrow you’re sick with no job.
Cash is King
Credit is debt.

Correct, I bought my Ford Focus with cash.

At the moment I owe £300 on a credit card that’s it – no other debt.

Doc,
We’re all guilty at times. Just noticed I haven’t been in a mall or retail store in 2 years and the last time it was gifts for others.
Not getting run over or rushing about this time of year is a refreshing feeling. It’s like finally reaching recovery after a long addiction.
I appreciate it, Doc just been lurking. It’s wise to just sit back and learn from others sometimes.
This year I gave my ex wife a few hundred to go buy presents for the kids. We splitting them so some are at my place and some at hers.
I bought a few
Things off Amazon, sent zero cards because I can wish people a marry Christmas instead of write it down. The only time I hit the mall
Is for food for me and the kids.I avoid malls like the plague.
When I can’t avoid the Christmas shoppers I look in amazement at their sheep like behavior.
It saddens me because the real meaning of Christmas has been largely lost.

B.S.,
That’s nothing, you’ll wipe that out soon.

My weakness has been cars but presently I keep thst in check so I can maintain a home for the kids and me.

I got a 15 year old Jeep TJ and a kick ass PC…no real debt anymore, and no desire whatsoever to create any! One thing about getting beat up, financially, by the divorce is that I got used to living without. Having to learn to differentiate between “what I need” and “what I want” is the best tool for a man (or woman)to learn. What I need now is the boat load of cash I am saving in my emergency fund! Everything I don’t spend just to exist is going in there. F~~~ the Joneses. They can keep on Jonsing….I’m manning OUT! #MANOUT! #CONSUMEROUT!
An educated, armed populace cannot be enslaved.
Doc,
I’m in total agreement. It’s sad that it starts right have Thanksgiving–if not before in the States where were supposed to be reflecting on what we are thankful for.
Chase a check, never chase a chick...
I just spent my day off cleaning out my man cave in prep for xmas and taking a little pride in my living spaces.
The amount of crap I had to purge was a huge wake up call re consumerism.
Quality over quantity, and needs over wants. Keep your life simple, f~~~ the Joneses.

Anonymous5Balaam,
Those chicks must be in for a shock when they see the basement.
I doubt those guys are getting any tail then, unless they keep them in the Bentley.
Some women are so fickle, the few good ones will be good with you walking when they know you hold everything else down.
Bitches are shallow!
Again, they don’t care about real wealth.
They don’t give a damn about your living situation. They care about the Bentley!
A decent woman, if they exist, will not f~~~ you in that basement.
But, I highly doubt that.
Balaam,
Idk back in my pre monk days, I did take a chick down when I was renting a room in a house.
I told her beforehand that I’m not relationship material and if she couldn’t control her feelings we’d be better off not doing so. She still wanted it though.
After that I just went monk, I got nieces of age now can’t think about guys just smashing them out LoL

Am with you all… but I think there was a weakness here for me… the PC.
I’ve avoided buying a new one for about 6 years, but am really going to have to buy a PC/Laptop next year… and man I want a good one… that is one area consumerism really hits me hard… especially being alone most of the time again, want to get back to gaming and argh…
But I’m going to be good and hold off till I can pay cash… just boy some of those shiny new PC’s look good 🙂
No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.
Gerald,
A good pc is a good investment. You can do work on it, game, save important files and look for work if needed. I hope you find a nice deal.

Going MGTOW truly is freedom. I work as a designer in marketing (NYC). Do you know who we target? WOMEN! Because they are the household SPENDERS. In reality, their consumer power is a big reason they feel so entitled. Because they can have “what they want” when they want it. The society we live in is too afraid to lose the female dollar so thats why most companies and entities bow down to them and make us look worthless.
Women are spenders, men are savers OR we spend on ourselves.. DAMN… Once you figure this s~~~ out you realize how deep the rabbit hole goes. DAMN!!
Im looking forward to my child support finally ending since my kid will be grown up. Ive been driven into debt more than once with a woman in my life.. Its time to get out and stay out.

Triggers, Triggers Everywhere !
From the time pumpkins are rolled out in October, I find myself feeling assaulted by females attempting to sink a hook in a (my) wallet for ‘the gifting season’. They really try to step up their game using the same old ‘tired’ obvious methods. I try not to take it personally, but find my patience becomes very short.
My ex constantly spent insane amounts on stupid s~~~ and I will NEVER sign up for that program again.
..it ain't me babe...it ain't me you're looking for, babe...
Man…it’s the BEST when the court sends you that letter saying you are no longer on the hook for child support brother! My ex was like “What?….what? But…but….I need that”!! Not “my child (22 yrs old) needs that” but “I” need that! Court be like…f~~~ off! Finally….like getting a $500+ a month raise!
An educated, armed populace cannot be enslaved.
I adopted the full fledge minimalist lifestyle roughly 3-4yrs ago. Was always a budgeter and hardly made spur-the-moment purchases. While all my friends were getting the latest and greatest smartphones and vehicles, I was still using a flip or slide up cellphone with the smallest phone plan available and making repairs on my Suburban(328,000+ miles and still chugging along btw) that’s been in the family almost 20yrs now(brother has inherited it for the time being).
SAVE, SAVE, SAVE! Wait till your bank account gets to fat then make your purchases. No Wife - No Strife

That’s real talk. I respect and appreciate that honesty. If more men read that and took it to heart, maybe just maybe we could see some change.
It shows their lack of foresight not seeing the end of they payments when they knew it wouldn’t last forever.
I’m not sure MGTOW will change the world, but it will surely help those who unplug create better worlds amongst themselves.

NICE TRAILBOSS!!! I cant wait to have that same freedom. My kid has decided to just go to a trade school (which is smarter these days) and not a 4 year college, Im counting down to his 18th birthday. Hes ready to do his own thing and get out of his moms house.

“The Joneses” is now “The Middle Class Debt Plantation”. Even if your NAWALT doesn’t expect to live a materialistic lifestyle, you will still be a slave to the cost of raising a children…and the bigger house and car you’ll need for it all. Living costs will always reach the equilibrium of what people can pay, so average middle class folks with professional jobs are all “house poor” with crushing mortgages nowadays. Then if you do get divorced, and pay $2k/month in child support like me, you are still paying for you former NAWALTS mortgage and will have no disposable income.
Trust me, I just turned 50, I’ve been through the marriage and children ordeal: stay single, don’t breed, stay rich. #IceThemOut
