STRONGLY NEED ADVICE

Hi everyone,

I’m really desperate as well as my family, trying to deal with our neighbours. I posted this topic long before, but nothing happened really trying to deal with them. We even called bylaw, they were completely useless in saying that the noise is normal.
The story is that the family living in attached townhouse adjacent to us, has these two kids that are ALWAYS running up and down the stairs, throwing s~~~ in the wall what sounds like basketball. Our walls are shaking, but apparently it’s normal noise according to bylaw. And when calling the police, they say to call bylaw for noise complaints.

We have exhausted every possible way of trying to get them to stop. It’s unbearable because they do that from early morning till very late night!!! Our sleep is being affected, and we have just had enough. Today I ran out, ran towards their door and started banging on it so hard that something cracked in it. I didn’t give a f~~~ing s~~~! I ran a bell. I heard their mother call for them not to come to the door, with her hiding and these two bastards in no sight now either. Continuing ringing the bell I stood there, trying to see if I could catch her sight. That f~~~ing C~~~!!! Whenever we talked and asked her to tell her kids to calm the f~~~ down, she always said she would punish them and make them stop. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Once I came to their door with her watching her kids running up and down the stairs like f~~~ing animals they are!

I’m really need a legal advise on how to eliminate them, or at least mitigate this s~~~. Next time I’m probably gonna brake their f~~~ing door. They are pieces of s~~~ and cops are also pieces of f~~~ing s~~~! Useless f~~~ing ass holes!

Are the kids from a single parent household? Because you know those bitches are lazy and useless. If not, try talking to their father maybe that will get the message across. Other than that if the municipality and cops won’t do anything then you really have to no choice but to give it to those kids in a non physical manner or just have the patience for them to grow out of it.

Legal Advice? Well you are in Canada. So I don’t know s~~~ about what you can do. But there is something called the nuisance order. That is where the owner is issued a fine each time a complaint is filed. That is the legal advice. Overtime, the fines add up. And people don’t like paying fines.

Your next step is to go to 4Chan and post this. See if that works. As much as I hate to tell you this, this is part of living in a city when you share a wall. I can not understand why anyone would buy a home like that. But I guess that’s how it goes.

We had people complain about living next to a rail road track. DID NOT GO FAR. Remember, these people have nothing to lose. And the more you mess with them, the more you will suffer. You know it.

Earplugs do wonders. It may take time getting used to them but they are a must if one works 3rd shift. Use them with a fan. You are not going to get help or respect nowadays and you are not allowed to do society a favor by beating their ass. It was different (at least in parts of the USA) when I was a kid, the only time they pulled that crap was on Halloween.

The only true solution is to find another place. that is what I had to do. Seriously, its the best answer. Something standalone/detached, in an area where there is decent space between houses.

Collect as much video evidence as you can. If you ever snap and beat their asses, you’ll at least have some evidence that you were provoked. email any complaints to local law enforcement or bylaws admin. They won’t do s~~~, but at least you’ll have dated evidence that you tried to get those people to do their damn jobs before you took action yourself. To me, I see a scenario where you snap and beat their asses, and a bunch of trouble for you after doing so… as an inevitable outcome here. while it probably will calm down their behavior, the trouble for you is inevitable. Collecting some evidence of what inspired you to do it, along with your attempts at resolving by more peaceful means may give you some chance of mitigating that trouble that comes your way.

It occurs to me as I write this that if you submitted a complaint with video evidence everytime the little bastards acted up, the complaints you make might become a pain in the ass of the people you complain to. Make that pain in the ass as big for them as these little animals have become to you, and they might actually take some action. Not because they care about you, but because they care about their own peace…

When I first moved here my landlord said I know there’s a bar downstairs, and the bar knows there’s a DJ living ustairs (me), and we’re not going to complain about each other, period. It is very hard to win in these situations unless you can get their cooperation.

I do not live in the US and so I am no use on the laws but whatever the situation get all the evidence you can record.

Now the best (but not always possible) solution is to get them to cooperate with you, so do not throw a wobbly on them. If they decide you are the enemy, they will be almost impossible to talk to and will just ignore you because they have their rights…

Instead try to talk nicely to them on a good day. Try to find common ground about something. Then say “you know this noise is driving me crazy…” When nothing happens next time you see them tell them you are going to have to start recording them if it goes on so you can take it to enforcement. Remember you may know you have a shaky case but they may not and no one likes to get hassle from the authorities. Next get a solicitor to write a letter threatening action. Solicitor’s letters are expensive but they can work wonders. (You could even fake one up.) Keep polite and keep recording. Record her swearing at them shouting and when you meet her play the recording to her and say you will be sending that to then authorities… (she will be afraid of looking like a dysfunctional parent)

However, I advise you to remember that sugar can catch you more flies than vinegar. If you can find any reason to make them do it from friendship, it will be easier. Otherwise escalate slowly, with warning and politely but relentlessly and using as much “legal” help as you can.

Yeah, from Nigeria. They think they’re back home, and can act like f~~~ing animals…which is what they are, but on a whole level down from apes.
Earplugs don’t really work, I can still feel vibration…talking to them doesn’t work. They calm down for an hour or so, then resume the same s~~~ like it didn’t happen.

If they are ignorant foreigners, then frighten them with the law. I bet in Nigeria you don’t want the law coming for you. Send them an official looking letter from a solicitor real or fake.

Can I get in s~~~ if they try and find out who the letter came from? And we already told them we could contact police, nothing came out of it.

It has to be something that they could have stolen from the store.

That will be enough, I assure you. Bear in mind that it will affect ALL of them (quite how I will leave to your imagination. I really don’t want to go there).

Not that I have any personal experience of this of course, but it is amazing what you can do with a laser printer. An ‘official’ document from the Embassy informing them that they have been deported, or that they have an interview with the Nigerian secret police … use your imagination – what would they fear the most?

The wife might suddenly discover that the husband is gay (all those telephone calls about stickers on the back of public restroom doors).
