Im not a technical analyst, nor am I knowledgeable about investments. I own zero stocks or futures. Nothing. I have a 80% down bag of crypto lol.
Anyway, the charts are looking like hell in a hand basket. Any opinions on where any of its going?
Crypto is over 50% down from Nov 11th alone. For the year, it’s down anywhere between 80%-98% LOL… Some cryptos are 1/50th what they used to be valued at. LOL Terrible
Regular Stock Market… all I can say is that you didn’t make a dime in 2018 likely. And anything you made last year may be gone soon too in my opinion which aint worth much…

A few weeks ago there was someone asking about it “no bad opinion” was wanted.
Cryptos aint an investment, is a gamble, i lost 800€ on it.
No biggie, becouse i never trusted it, it is a scam, was a scam, will always be scam, NO ONE EVEN KNOW WHO SAKAMOTO IS.
But i like to see it drop, is fun, some people got ruined by it, I LOVE IT.
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
That was me. Yes, people are getting rekt by it, mainly because they SOLD. Don’t sell it.
There is a difference between Bitcoin and other crypto coins/tokens.
I do not buy Bitcoin, same as, I do not buy an experiment, prototype, concept car. It is not what people are characterizing it to be.
However, there ARE cryptos being developed now that are characterized like what Bitcoin was supposed to be. I buy those, particularly Cardano which I think will be around a decade or two from now, while much of this other stuff will not be here.
Just my opinion. If you’re gonna buy crypto, buy the NEW S~~~. Not some old crap that is manipulated by whales. I will never buy Bitcoin or Ethereum or ANY fork of either one of them.

WHY?
why buy the new criptos?
What is the purpose? To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
It is a bubble, there is 2500 new coins, wich one is the good one?
What makes cardano especial?
Tecnology is something that actualize every month, you can not make a line of coin stay on time a new, better, upgraded, debbuged, will come next year. It wont stick,it cant.
Tech moves fast, too fast.
DO NOT PUT MORE THAN A FEW BUCKS ON IT.
1000€ Is my top, is what i call suicidal investment fund. Becouse you basically throwing your money.
I got 1 ether, 27 iotas. That is it.
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
Im not buying anymore bro. Im done wasting money on it for now. But I aint selling. I will hold until zero, or until I get my money back.
I hear you though, Im skeptical as well
I got 1 ether, 27 iotas.
Seems like a decent HOLD. I wouldn’t blame you if you just hold that for 2 years… probably could sell and get your money back or a small profit sometime next Summer… hopefully
Crypto = garbage.
Stocks = The S&P is down about 50 points from where it started the year. 2695 Jan. 2 to about 2645 now. Not a big deal. If you go from Dec. 7th to Dec. 7th, it was at 2637 Dec 7th 2017, so from 1 year ago its still up a bit. Its a long game though…go back 5 years…it was under 1800. I’m more concerned about where its going to be 5 years from now rather than next week. Its always up and down…I’ll gladly just keep buying shares and ride it out. Even if you want to look at where we are at now compared to all time highs…we’re only down about 10% off a new all time high set three months ago…I wouldn’t exactly call that sinking like the Titanic.
When you look at stock values they’re generally tend to move based upon the underlying fundamentals of the business. If the economy is still moving along…low unemployment, wage growth faster than its been in years, and companies still posting good quarterly EPS, which is where we are now and where we’ll be next quarter as well…stocks are going to keep trending up. Sure there is some randomness based off people’s perceptions and speculation, but ultimately solid companies have stock that does well long term. Now you look at crypto…there is no underlying fundamental that gives it value, its entirely perception and speculation. It blows my mind how often I’ll hear people bitching about short sellers and speculators being the worst aspects of our markets, then go jump in cryptos like its a great idea when its nothing but speculating.
So if another 20% drop happens, like a 2009 event takes place… you’re unconcerned?
Im not a TA guy but you DOW and S&P charts look like they keep hitting a resistance zone on the 5 year chart. They look dangerously like about to take a big dump and transition to a BEAR market. Call me paranoid
That is preceisely what this thread is aimed at. opinion on whether we’re headed into a BEAR market. Crypto is already on the floor, whether you thinks its fakeass air-money or not, it already had a 12 month BEAR market and lost 80%+ of its value.
So who is next? BOOMERs are retiring. You think the charts will continue up? LOL
Id be selling like a mofo right now, but I have nothing in there. I will not sell my condo because I live in it, but if I owned other realestate, Id be selling
all this is meant in friendly way bro, not yelling at anyone. as said, Im not an experienced investor.
your crypto arguments are unnecessary. we know, most people think its bulls~~~. That’s okay. I admit, I invested badly lost over half of every dollar I put in crypto this year… its gone.
But even if I had all my money back, there is no way Id invest in the regular market.
So if another 20% drop happens, like a 2009 event takes place… you’re unconcerned?

Im counting on a market bear move of biblical proportions, just for the fun of it.

Unfortunately the truth is, is that crypto is a bad investment until there is regulation. The one thing it didn’t want.
Crypto is the wild west of currency. Until there is accountability for those managing, small investors will be scammed and lose. We need the rule of law and conseques for those who violate those laws.
There’s FREEDOM. and then there’s FREEDUMB.
PICK ONE.

So if another 20% drop happens, like a 2009 event takes place… you’re unconcerned?
Nope. Despite what happens today, tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year, my plan remains the same. Continue investing money, continue reinvesting dividends, leave my money invested, and play it long term. Every company I’m holding right now is making money hand over fist and sells things people will continue to use even through a recession(food, utilities, natural gas, cell phone service…you know people with go without food before they got rid of their cell phones), I’m not worried.
Right now I’d be far more concerned about selling on the dip and missing a recovery in the near term than I would be selling on the dip and missing the melt down. If we do have a big meltdown, I still don’t care, like I said, I’ll just keep throwing money at it and 5-10 years right now I’ll be looking back at the great stock sale of 2018/2019 just like looking back at 2009.
So who is next? BOOMERs are retiring. You think the charts will continue up? LOL
Yup. Soon as they retire someone else takes their job…the markets don’t care if its a boomer contributing to their 401k or a millennial. If they retire with a lot of money most of its just going to stay in the market anyhow…its not like you retire one day and instantly pull 100% of your money out of your 401k and out of the markets.
I’d be far more concerned about my state going belly up trying to pay all the boomers their pensions than I would be boomers somehow crashing the market.
Id be selling like a mofo right now, but I have nothing in there.
Actively managed funds can’t consistently time the markets and are routinely out performed by the indexes.
http://fortune.com/2017/04/13/stock-indexes-beat-mutual-funds/
If the “pros” who stare at charts and research companies all day for a living can’t consistently and accurately time the market, I’m skeptical that some random internet guy who doesn’t even have any skin in the game has it figured out.
Meanwhile staying diversified, dollar cost averaging over time, and going long is about as close to a guaranteed win as you’ll get.
continue reinvesting dividends, leave my money invested, and play it long term.
Right now I’d be far more concerned about selling on the dip and missing a recovery
Good plan, sounds fair to me man.
If they retire with a lot of money most of its just going to stay in the market anyhow…
I’m a little more skeptical about Boomers retiring. One point I’d say, is that Millennials do not replace Boomers one for one, not even close. Also, (sad to say about my own generation) but Millennials are not replacing Boomer’s jobs one for one either. Important jobs are being lost, not for lack of needing those fields, but because no man to fill the position, or no one interested or apprenticed to fill the role. I think GDP is going to grind to a halt. Birthrate is GONE.
“pros” who stare at charts and research companies all day
they didn’t see 2009 coming, atleast not enough of them to stop it from happening. But your points are well received.
I think the 5 year growth has peaked. The sideways prices in 2018 are evidence of that. Now that GDP faces threats, Im BEARish. I think biological factors as a whole will result in BEAR market sooner than later.
You say people will pay for their cell phone before their groceries? Are you sure about that? They’re doing it right now but they aren’t that hungry right now.
Just in case have a few gold bars and few silver coins in safe place.
I really hope SHTF soon.
The sooner the better. To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
Don’t own either, Just watched my physical silver increase $2000 in a week though…
Afinogyny.. from the Greek Afino {to abandon/ to set down/ to leave /to allow/ to let } + Gyny {Women} MGHOW’s philosophy to not engage women without “hating them”. Narcorca =Narcissistic Orca typically spouting to a bathroom mirror taking an arms length selfie ; Wallinate describes post wall females whose SMV is terminally negligible New Years resolution "To not make women happy" . Instadestitue: yet another Neologism for Men that cohabit with women that decide to pull the handle of intervention orders.
Since I have been investing, I have been through the following major pullbacks:
1996
2002
2008So far, this is nothing. This may be the first pull-back millennial investors have seen after a 10-year bull market, so far it’s a pretty reasonable correction and should be expected in response to rate tightening after years of easy-money policy.
I’ve seen markets overshoot to the upside, and to the downside.
If I could offer any advice to my fellow MGTOW, it would be: remember that in buying shares of stock, you are buying into a stream of expected future earnings.
I’m a value investor. I like profitable companies, with past earnings that I can measure and estimate into the future. Other investors like momentum or more speculative strategies — trying to pick the next huge winner. As a wealth-building strategy — fine for them, not for me.
I’ve found that when one is educated before making an investment and realistic about what earnings should be (to the upside and downside)– then paying only what YOU thought was a fair price for those — you should be confident in your investment.
It’s been said that in the short term, the stock market is a popularity contest. In the long term, it is a weighing machine (of fair value).
It’s also been said that the stock market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. I think that’s truer than ever today — when most market activity is driven by machines and by big institutional investors. Overshoots to the downside force investors maxed-out on margin (both institutional and retail) to sell their shares cheaply. “Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered”. Better to leave some money on the table, than get wiped out.
Markets can plunge faster than you think possible, and bounce the same way. Look at how many flash crashes there have been in recent years.
I look at buying a stock like buying anything else. You can pay a lot more more than something is worth — or get it on sale.
I'm going my own way. Maybe I'll see you there.
Not gonna expound theory or philosophy here.
I’m a believer in the blockchain technology. But right now we are in the equivalent of the dot com crash.
Most s~~~ companies were wiped out back then like most of these s~~~ coins are now.
But the real ones from the dot com era, now are worth a fortune. Not gonna push any coin here.
That’s your job to know what you are investing in.Straight advice, HODL for at least 2 years. Im hopeful 2019 will show some nice returns.
2020 promises to be a real s~~~ show.
If in that time your cryptos make you a profit you are comfortable with, sell. And most importantly, buy some nice shiny Canadian Maples with any profits from any investments or income……
And wait or the STHTF cause it’s going to.
Oh and if we are on the Titanic, the women and children rule no longer applies.
Kick the woman in front of you out of the life boat. We all equal now!Very nice COmments, thanks Handsome Vic and Vajra Varaha
For the men here that are clearly over 50, or have lengthy experience investing/trading. Thanks for your comments!
Many of us younger whipper-snappers in our 20’s & 30’s aint got much to play with and don’t know s~~~ from cheyenne
