The thing is that apprenticeship in Norway makes it so that you have documented evidence and tested that are able to do your work in the field. Of course I am going to college in the future. My goal is a phd and being debt free

Can’t really give you any advice other than not to talk to any of them, or reveal any personal beliefs or info about yourself. The Apprentice diploma in Norway shows experience and theoretical knowledge. Your yearly salary will go up between 10-20% higher with that document. You will not just be tested by the company, but by your earlier teacher, 3rd parties and lastly will have to go up to an exam and be tested by the state itself. Here you will either fail, pass or pass with good marks.

When you search job you will always be prioritized in front of people who just have a college degree. As I said it shows that you can put that info into practice out in the field. Those in college may have higher knowledge on a couple of things, but what good does it do when they can’t put it into practice?

Now when you have the apprentice diploma and the college degree you will be able to earn much more. I know one of the IT-Teacher I had last year did the test and he got a raise of 7000 USD that year. So yes it’s quite useful
