With the various Star Wars threads on this forum, I don’t know if this has posted, but I found this very satisfying video on the big complains of Episode 7.
It is two men and woman. And right out the gate, it is the woman that pointed out that biggest problem of the movie, Rey’s instant expert status.
Here it is:
New review up by BASSFZz
I have a theory that Rey is the daughter of Luke Skywalker and I have a reason to believe that.
Wow, certainly this implication was so strong I did not even realise that it was not explicitly stated in the plot.
Apparently there would be a need for a reveal somewhere on. That is likely coming, so they wait on it. It hasn’t been established, but one can guess that it is coming.
Not really, considering the whole thing was done so ham-fistedly that it’s pretty obvious. I hope that it’s not the case, but it most likely will be.
I’ve finished watching the movie just a couple of hours ago. Untamed and Keymaster already said it all and you others did a good MGTOW examination. I would like to add my two cents.
First of all this movie is basically episode IV: a droid carrying vital information chased by empire, the death star, x-wing assault to its weak spot, wannabe jedi etc..
Personally I always loved Timothy Zahn’s trilogy and I think it could have been a better material for a Star Wars franchise reboot.
Also I noticed big plot holes:
1) Where the f~~~ is the New Republic army? Why is there literally only a dozen of fighters opposing to such a serious threat to the Republic? The very existence of the Resistance is a nonsense to me
2) In the old trilogy the death stars were built by a GALACTIC empire.. how is it possible that an handful of nostalgics of the empire have the money to build a planet-size death star?
3) they don’t even try to hide the “inspiration” from Ep.4: in the tactical room the resistance is discussing how to destroy the Starkiller: Solo says that there is always a way, like the old death stars.. and the solution? Fly some X-Wings inside a canyon to reach and destroy a power regulator.. how original! Oh they even avoid to describe the working principle behind the Starkiller: “I don’t even know how it can work” says a resistance guy.. don’t worry pal: me neither!
4) As you already wrote, Reyn is too powerful: she confronts Kylo Ren, a trained dark jedi, and she wins! Luke evolution instead was more believable: he was warned by Yoda to not confront Vader because he wasn’t ready yet. He disobeyed and he lost his hand. He barely escaped thank to Leia’s help. It would have been more believable if she started to confront Ren, opposed a bit of resistance using her uncontrolled new powers and then, almost defeated, the rift opened giving the chance to Chewie to pick her up with the Falcon and escape.I didn’t like this new Star Wars. Abrams is too “big fx, weak plot” for my tastes and I fear that Disney wants to squeeze all the money from this franchise, hence for me it’s officially ruined.
I’m sorry to write this because I grew up with Star Wars and I think that the first trilogy is a masterpiece1) Where the f~~~ is the New Republic army? Ahhh, another damn giant plot hole… the New Republic. An inconvenience for Mr Abrams – the rebellion won – so he just kills of the whole New Republic with a casual use of the Starkiller, and we’re back to business as usual.
<sigh> I blame Lawrence Kasdan, he damn well knows better,

It’s even worse than that: the Resistance is already there when Starkiller is used. Then the Order uses it against some planets of the Republic, which doesn’t give a single f~~~!
Only this Resistance fights the order without any “official” support.
It would be like if an enemy attacked your country and the government didn’t send a single man to fight, forcing some citizens to form a resistance.. It makes no sense!
I hope I can explain my perplexity in English clearly enough: a resistance movement usually arises when the official government is defeated or become allied with the enemy, but in SW7 there are no such reasons.. If any, the movie fails at storytelling. What do you mean with Kasdan knows better?
Episode 8 The Feminism Arises.
Rey teaches Luke the ways of the force and tells him what he did wrong.
Fuck this planet. What do you mean with Kasdan knows better?
He wrote the screenplays for Raiders of the Lost Ark (which was just a bunch of wild ideas from George Lucas and a few sensible ones from Speilberg) as well as the screenplays for Eps V & VI. (and the Big Chill, Body Heat, Silverado…) He knows better than to churn out this s~~~!
Speaking of Lawrence Kasdan – HERE is something I’d never heard of before….
I know I was disappointed with the movie. Rey the novice was able to beat the much more trained Kylo Ren? WTF!? Feminism aside, the movie was missing something imho and I think it was overhyped. Entertaining though.
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. --Einstein
Fine honestly the flim felt like a homage to starwars and the plotline is similar to those of the other flim like the death star planet Kylo ren turning good to evil and Kylo ren getting mutated but not dying. It also had a feminist undertone to it as the main character is Luke skywalkers daughter the villian is Han solos son and the flim trying to prove that women have better capability’s then men. Final rating well if you are a fan of starwars see it if you want to avoid clapping people in the theater every time RD-D2 comes on the scene then wait for it to come on DVD or download it.
Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.
yeah… i just saw the movie… cause its star wars!
But to my expected disappointment it was even worse than 1-3. i was hoping that it wouldn’t be so bad… but nope! just like with star trek, no more star wars movies for me!
F~~~! There was only 1 alpha males in the entire movie! Chewbacca!!! and even then, they had to pussify him when he got shot.
This movie was just PURE FEMINIST BRAINWASHING GARBAGE!
But, yeah, i came prepared, because Rey looked almost exactly like f~~~ing jennifer lawrence in hunger games! Both ugly females, 6/10, and both ABSOLUTELY F~~~ING WEAK.
Just like in the hunger games movie, EVERY f~~~ing MAN! had to SLOW DOWN and forcedly be pussy when around her.Fin (huge mangina) got a hold of a light saber, ran into a trooper with it… and just where a guy would normally go, “Hmmn, this thing is awesome,” and start absolutely pwning s~~~… He goes back into f~~~ing mangina mode and gets his ass kicked.
GAWD!!! This movie was worse than mad tampon.
Should be dubbed as Tampon Wars 4.

Didn’t know that. I agree with you then.
About the feminist undertone, I searched for feminists reaction to Rey character.. Looks like they found their new hero. Only a woman can recognise herself in a protagonist that is immediately good at everything without the unavoidable suffering for any hard training and/or failing.. Rey it’s just another run of the mill character for the feminine disillusion of omnipotence.
This is just the first result in Google..
My step-fathers buddy called it ‘Barbie Meets Star Wars’. Very astute, I thought.

Great. So now they can ruin Solo retroactively as well as in the present.
Terminator Genysis tried to do the same thing Star Wars did this summer and got torn to shreds, critically. Star Wars does it and gets rave reviews. Welcome to Hollywood, gents.
I just saw it. It is a carbon copy of the first movie Ep4?. Yeah slightly different but overall the same damn thing. really, $11. You’d think they could find one feminst writer with a little imagination.

I refused to read, listen to anything until I saw it myself. Watched it yesterday,,,,, sigh.
Movie itself was OK in effects etc, but, they f~~~ed it.A black slave (Finn) breaking free from his masters and fighting back. He makes reference to breaking free from slavery.
Rey. A feminist dream of a lead actress. Independent strong women.
1) Fights off Finns help when he is trying help her to escape the attack bombardment.
2) Refuses any male help as she can handle herself i.e. wont take a blaster off Han Solo and then doesn’t know how to use it.
3) Knows more about the falcon being in it 5 minutes than Han Solo or Chubaka who have been flying it for ever. Shows up Han Solo he knows nothing about is ship and fixes it every time.
4) Uses the force like a trained jedi with no training defeating Kylo mind control, light saber fight and being able to get the light saber over him as well from the snow. That’s beating the guy who can freeze a laser bolt mid air with little effort.Another Death Star. FFS.
Too many holes in the plot.Just another typical Disney movie papering to women and the minority’s.

Sounds like it should’ve been called Social Justice Wars. Blech.

Anonymous2Cap, thanks for the info ! I own the trilogy but just no way I am going to spend my money on a feminist bulls~~~ propaganda. I am absolutely sick of this female super hero s~~~! I have seen even just teaching them for a very basic close combat techniques in the army. For real combat fighting they are just a useless problem causing weaklings compare with the elite class male solders! Full stop! Regardless all the bulls~~~ in the media!! I am going to use that money to buy some fresh baits and going fishing.
Not so long ago, in a theater no so far away….
STAR WARS
THE SOCIAL JUSTICE AWAKENS
In a vain attempt to market STAR WARS to women and minorities, director JJ ABRAMS and producer KATHLEEN KENNEDY use diversity and a feminist Mary Sue main character to do a soft re-boot of A New Hope.
Little do they know, that in their attempt to get new fans to spend money on the product, they ignore the fact that they can’t be compared to the fans who have loved STAR WARS and spent countless billions on its merchandise since F~~~ING 1977. Therefore, alienating them.
While the diverse cast protects the movie from mainstream criticism, the Internet is rife with fans now praising the DREADED PREQUEL TRILOGY, saying they’d rather watch the HATED JAR JAR BINKS and calling Rey the Mary Sue that she is.
While the Internet discusses these alarming events, anyone who dares criticizes this movie is immediately called a ‘misogynist’ and ‘bigot’…..
