I have read a few of the guys here who still participate on social media. I think a lot of the younger guys are the one’s who probably do this more given you guys have grown up with these apps. I would like to provide my story if it will help anyone.

I started using Facebook when I was in college. This was back when it was called TheFacebook and still restricted to college students. It was a vastly different product then and only used as a hook up website. I lost interest as it continued to evolve but then I had a hard time letting it go because of all the family I had on there. However, after a while I realized that it is pointless and just aggravated me more than anything else given all the blue pill behavior on there. After you delete it, it might take a while before you stop caring and that is normal for anything you become accustomed to.

I have done the same with other apps like Snapchat and WhatsApp as well. I never really got involved with Twitter or Instagram but I think the same can be said for them.

Your life will be so much better without any of these apps, including the television. It takes a bit of courage and some commitment. That is all. You might struggle initially but give it time. You will fill your time with other things like reading books, taking long walks, playing video games, socializing in real life, MGTOW.com, etc.

I lost interest as it continued to evolve

I would say that it de-evolved into a commercial mass market appeal to anyone and anything. I initially used Facebook for connecting with H.S./College friends, but quickly lost interest as the utility was just not there.

Having to support/utilize other Social Media for work (the above plus Slack) ensures that I have no interest in using social media personally. Everyone is much better off reducing their social media connections and instead re-introducing themselves to the real world.

I left Facebook almost a year ago and wonder how I could have spent so much time on it in the past. Reddit is the last thing I’m trying to break away from. At this point in my life, I feel I should just focus and take care of myself and things that impact me directly and not what everyone else or the media tells me I should care about. Pretty obvious, I know.

Social Media is for those that wish to be Sociable without actually personally interacting with others.

How would you guys categorize LinkedIn?

I have thought about this one a lot lately. I still remain on there but I really derive little value from it. I am sure there are people in the corporate world who use it effectively in order to network. I am sure there are small businesses who use it as a platform to advertise their business and recruit employees. I think it just depends on what it does for you. I have decided to keep it for now even though I rarely ever log on to it. I do not see any stuff on there that really aggravates me or anything.

A good tool gone bad. Like Facebook initially, it had a lot of promise but has been compromised by advertising, false personal information and the mistaken belief that there is an actual utility to be gained by searching LinkedIn for potential employees.

It is nothing more than a business oriented Facebook without the games and income generating options for the developers.

This is like the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve had a twitter account, I got rid of snap chat, instagram, and am in the process of removing myself from Facebook entirely (too many leftist manginas – there was a reason I messaged you that “crush the manginas” thing). I’m over social media. I’ve been backing up all my photos onto my computer most of this morning. I was on facebook practically when it started. Well before the millions and millions of people hopped on. I’ve been on it for 11 years. I think I’ve had enough.

This is the only site I am on or contribute to & the reason is you guys are fantastic.
I prefer the real world. As F’d up as it is its better than playing pretend.
TV is my mind candy at the end of the day. Specifically, old Star Trek episodes & sometimes I shut it off right in the middle of show & go to bed.
I watch some U tube videos that you guys post

F~~~ facebook, and myspace. Both are lures as far as I’m concerned. I’ve never lost one penny for shunning it’s club status.

    Hear, hear.
I also cannot stand Fakebook. Time sink, full of fake and mentally ill retards, reduces your IQ, blue pill hell, PC indoctrination and general idiocy 24/7.
A wise man rejects the inauthentic and deleterious.
I got rid of my TV cos I never watched it. My living room is spartan save for a large sofa and books. Life is great. It’s funny seeing people’s faces when I tell them I’m not on Fakebook and don’t have a TV.
Some people are on Fakebook for specific reasons, for example promoting their art or if they’re travelling and keeping in touch. This is fair enough. But if I’m honest I file mainstream users under “AVOID”.

My facebook stories are funny but would compromise my identity, lets just say I share a name with a famous person from history so that’s what google searches bring up, it’s excellent cover.

When I was growing up before facebook, youtube, etc. I was taught to never reveal any personal information online because there’s sharks in the water.

Nowadays the major social media sites want me to put down my real name, real picture and attach my real phone number all for “free”. F~~~ that.

I’m wise to the rise of big data though, the users on Facebook are the product, their information is sold to third parties and the data is mined for future profit. It’s an insidious network, I hate it and want nothing to do with it.

So… you were hooking up with your family, Gambit? :’D

In all seriousness, you are right on. It’s like the people who are not on social media all the time have what we used to call real lives . . .

Funny you mention that. I had a bunch of younger family members who were trying to hook up with me. They are second or third cousins. Very beautiful girls. Another reason I had to delete the account.
