Yep seen that doco. Its pretty old. Have you seen the newer one?

I heard about a new one that they made a couple of years ago, but no I haven’t seen it. I was kinda hoping that it would have shown up on YouTube by now…

Yes, my understanding is that you create your own paranormal phenomena. Its a part of your unconscious mind and the entity appears to be foreign because you are not conscious of it.

Well, the hallucination occurs when the brain is half awake and half asleep. Like a computer that ‘hangs’ during boot-up or shut-down. That’s how the doctors explain it anyway…

I’ve noticed that too. Its always on the transition of a dream. Usually coming out of a dream. Its like a portal to the unconscious remains open. Archetypes and Entities reside in the unconscious mind, according to Carl Jung, thats when you have the paranormal experience.

I suppose I have three stories:

    USS Missouri Ghost Story:

In 2008 I was visiting Hawaii with my family. We toured the USS Missouri which was a famous battleship in WWII. It saw a lot of action, encountered kamikaze attacks and was the official site of the surrender of Japan which ended World War II.

The ship was pretty neat overall. Very somber feeling as a lot of people died on the ship. We came upon the Captain’s Quarters and I decided to take a picture on my cell phone camera. I looked at the photo and there was a grey mist hovering above the bunk with a shape of a head and shoulder. This mist was not there whatsoever in person. Maybe it was the captain?

    Alien Light Story:

This happened when I was about 15 years old in the year 2000. It was Summertime and I slept with my window open to let the cool air in. I woke up randomly in the night to take a p~~~. I went back to my bed which was underneath the window. Just as I got back into bed I saw this object falling very fast over the foothills, maybe 5 miles in the distance.

I got up and watched it fall for about 30 seconds out the window. It was coming in hot and trailing something. I thought maybe it was a plane that was crashing as I lived near a small airport. I was following the object from my window. Right as it hit the ground there was this extreme florescent white/blue light that instantaneously washed over the entire area and engulfed everything including me. It lasted about 3 seconds. There was no noise which you would have expected from a crash. This light was calming and just like you might see when you “Meet God”. I told my parents about it the next day and I thought there would be reports of a plane or meteor crash but nothing. I have no idea what it was but I vividly remember that light; it was like a bomb went off and covered everything.

    Ghost or Demon Story:

This just happened to me about 6 months ago. I woke up in the dead of night paralyzed, I could not speak or move whatsoever however I could see the darkness of my room. I felt this weird essence coming out of my mouth like something was being sucked from my soul. Don’t know how to describe it other than it felt dark?? I was absolutely terrified and scared s~~~less. Within a couple of minutes I could move again but didn’t want to go back to sleep. I’m thinking that could have been a night terror where you wake up and your body is still paralyzed. Apparently that is a real thing or medical issue and not a ghost but who knows.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. What you experienced was a ‘Sleep Paralysis’ episode (AKA Old Hag Syndrome). Myself and a few others here have had similar experiences. I’ve had it a few times but they say that many people might only experience it once in their life time.

It’s a common sleep disturbance caused by stress and fatigue but it’s nothing to worry about. They’re just hallucinations and it’s all in your head. I linked to a video about it a few posts earlier. It’s scary as s~~~ but there’s nothing harmful about it other than it’s just scary as s~~~… 😀

I had a nurse supervisor tell me that there are haunted rooms in the main tower. One nurse was really scared when she was hit hard in the back, turned around to see who did it and no one was there.

I had one last year, that was different from the usual Night Terror I see. It was a very small demon (like a little goblin or something) running around my bed biting me. I finally woke up and guess what… I had little insect bites all over my body. That was pretty f~~~ing scary. I’ve had about 12 different episodes since I moved into this old house last year. The house is located right next to an old cemetery (probably about 100 yards away).

I went back and read some stories in this thread and it sounds like I’m alone in the sleep paralysis category. That sounds exactly what I went though, didn’t know it had a name. Just thinking about that night makes kind of creeped out. I couldn’t imagine having those kinds of episodes on a regular basis. That would make me afraid to go to bed.

It’s a very unsettling experience and it can really f~~~ some people up, but when you understand that it’s all just happening inside your own head then that takes the edge off a bit.

Like other’s have already said, it’s more terrifying than anything most people will ever experience in ‘real’ life but it’s just a sleep disorder that can be managed.

I have had a few episodes and it wasn’t until many years later that I found out that it was a common phenomenon and that it had a name…

When I was having SP on a fairly regular basis, I was not looking forward to bed time. Plus, I was having demonic night mares anyways. This one night terror, kept stopping my heart. I couldn’t breath and my heart just stopped. It was the worst feeling I’ve ever had to experience. I had a similar night mare about it too. The entity tries to enter my body and my heart stops. It may be just an hallucination, but it feels very real. Luckily, I’ve been doing pretty good lately.

It may be just an hallucination, but it feels very real.

Yeah, I know how very real they can be. As a little kid, I had the ‘floating head’ of the Old Hag equidistant in front of me and above as I ran screaming down the hallway toward my parent’s bedroom. To this very day, my skin crawls as I am typing this.

I woke my father and he told me that I was just having a bad dream. F~~~ that! Even as a young kid I knew that you don’t have nightmares while you’re awake and running.

My parents told our family doctor about it and he told them “Too much T.V.”. FFS!

I know how real they seem be but they’re only a hallucination generated in your own mind. Claiming that they could be anything else only causes unnecessary anxiety and fear…

I found this alien in my backyard when i was young and took the c~~~ in . Called him ET because he had an extra testicle

Did you know that there’s a porno version of ET? A terrible film, and probably the least arousing skin flick ever. There is nothing sexy in it. ET is now a woman, but wears the nastiest alien costume that they could’ve possibly put her in.

For some weird-ass reason, it’s also set during the Victorian era.

I won’t gross you guys out by adding a picture, but the Cinema Snob did do a rather amusing critique of it. I’ll always be grateful for s~~~ films, because they lead to such funny p~~~-takes. So in due course, even crap movies have something to offer.

But to answer your question DYD, no, I’ve never encountered a ghost or alien (touch wood). That’s some creepy s~~~ that you experienced though.

My crazy UFO experiences were documented on other threads with pix posted on one from one of the eight events I’ve handled featuring nine discrete craft.

I did have one experience in my youth that could have possibly been spirit b~~~~.

I was barely 18 and hanging out at a baseball field’s bleachers on a Sunday night contemplating my Monday university course load. All of the sudden, a group of about 15 to 18 silver phosphorescent glowing orbs presented itself to me. They were about 20 meters in front of me and from 10 to 20 meters off of the ground. I viewed them for about fifteen seconds. They then blinked out one by one over a 10 second period. I was not under the influence.

So that was while you were awake? You weren’t dreaming?

I was half awake and half asleep. That’s how and when an episode of SP occurs. Part of your brain is awake and part of your brain is ‘dreaming’. This is how the hallucinations are generated. It’s a brain glitch.

The episode started with me laying in bed asleep on my back. I woke up (partially) and opened my eyes to see a ‘floating head’ apparition in the far left corner of my bedroom. Everything else in the room was visible. My eyes were open and I could see everything in my room as well as this f~~~ing floating head.

The head was round and about the size of a volley-ball. There were no discernible mouth or nose but the eyes were two huge bulging black pools staring right back at me!

The face was wrinkled and grizzled, like one of those dried apple face carvings and the hair was wild and frizzy. The appearance was definitely that of a ‘hag-like’ female.

There was no paralysis (this time) and I jumped out of bed yelling. I started out of my bedroom door and dashed for my parent’s bedroom with this head thing ‘floating’ above and in front of me as I ran. It just sort of hung there in space above the top of the door as I ran into my parents bedroom.

This is the first and earliest SP episode that I can recall. It’s the only episode that I am aware of were the so-called victim was able to get up and actually move while simultaneously ‘seeing’ the hallucination.

I think that the brain can be awake enough to make the body move and yet you’re not necessary fully conscious. That’s pretty much what sleep walking is which I also did as a little kid…

That would have creeped me out big time.

Funnily enough i had a bad nightmare last night. I was in this haunted house with my ex’s 3 boys and s~~~ was moving and we were being pulled and dragged about, then a loud voice would yell and there’d be a crack sound and flash of white all over the place and we’d be in another part of this house. When i woke up, i woke up with a shudder. I usually say out aloud “oh f~~~ you!” to the s~~~ty dream that i just had, when ever i get them as it p~~~es me off.

You ever had them false awakening dreams? I hate those.

One time i had sleep paralysis, there was an invisible person scratching their nails on a plate next to me then on my face. I yelled out curse words at whatever it is, and then I woke up. I could hear this horrible deep voiced slow mo chanting in my ears that slowly faded away. It was really unsettling.

But yeh, the worse Sleep paralysis/nightmare was that entity dragging me off the bed. F~~~ing horrible s~~~.

Yes. One time I dreamt that I was up and getting myself dressed getting ready to go to work on a midnight shift at the factory.

When I actually work up I was like WTF!!!
