Mostly repeating what others have said, but:
There is nothing – nothing – in Sweden that Russia would possibly want. Even if no other country on Earth but Sweden was willing to defend Sweden, why would Russia possibly want millions of angry, captive, potential fifth columnists? Sweden’s economy is the same socialistic free fall of doom as the rest of the West. Less and less is made in Sweden, and structurally their economy has been declining for decades. What would the point be?
What is increasingly likely is that much of Eastern Europe is going to decide that the EU is a goddamn train wreck, and that they’re better off serving as a neutral buffer between the West and Russia – leaning towards Russia. Finland and Austria did quite well in that role for a very long time, and was less of a headache to Russia as well than were captive nations that required resources to manage and subjugate. The EU has been quite busy subjugating Eastern Europe for some time to the benefit of the globalists and the West, and Russia looks like a better option right now than does the morally and intellectually bankrupt West.
The globalists desperately want war with Russia. G-d willing, they won’t get it. As for Sweden panicking for no reason . . . perhaps the Swedes just like to pretend they’re still relevant. I can’t see anyone invading them for any reason whatsoever. Desperate Muslim immigrants aside . . . who mainly want welfare and gimmedats, not the collapse of the free ride. Britain likes to do this as well. No one would invade Britain. There’s nothing worth having there. Poor people are everywhere; no reason to go conquer some. Britain has shown itself completely incapable of winning any war of aggression since the Boer War, which took them far, far too long. They fought a stalemate in WWI, lost WWII for all intents and purposes, backed down at Suez, gave up all their colonies, and have just spent the last fifteen-ish years fighting unsuccessfully in the Middle East.
Something went very, very wrong with Britain a very long time ago. They’ve been spending their capital and assets for decades, with nothing to show for it. I have no possible idea what philosophy they espouse, but its not one that anyone in their right mind would be willing to go to war for. It’s a declining idea that has been contracting for almost a century. So many of Britain’s ex-colonies are so completely corrupt and f~~~ed up places, so ready for good government, that any aggressive external-looking expansionism would be sure to succeed . . . ah, but the key is that Britain itself would have to offer something better. CHAVs (Council Houses and Violence) are not something the rest of the world particularly wants. Pacifism isn’t an expansionist philosophy, moral relativism never won a beachhead, and societies without religion collapse within two generations. One can substitute the word ‘Sweden’ for Britain in most of these paragraphs. Having friends from both, and being from the States, I see no real difference between the two countries, at all. One blur of Hellenism and shopping mall land. The language is different – whatever.
If the Swedes and Britons would like to save themselves, lighting the swords of Lutheranism and Anglicanism might be a good place to start. I say this as a member of the Despised Race – we have saved ourselves only through our new adherence to the short sword, spear, and bow. Those among the tribes who have refused to rearm are disappearing – quickly – through assimilation into WalMart nothingness and television pudding land.
I read the ‘Girl with a Dragon Tattoo’ trilogy some time ago. It was admittedly an unfinished work, but . . . f~~~, Sweden is so, so very screwed. I despised both protagonists by the second book, and realized that there was in fact a country I wanted less to live in than the United States – Sweden.

Russia has something like 1/4 of the world’s useful resources, and too few souls. What they need are immigrants, not prisoners.
