Russia does not have the capability or desire to “invade” Sweden—somebody has been playing too much RISK boardgame.

There was an article about a week ago on the same topic–Sweden civil defense plans put into operations but this article had a completely different take on it than the one Jan just posted. The earlier article took the position that the civil defense precautions preparing for war was limited to “internal” civilian strife AKA Muslim issues.

Interesting how this civil defense prep has morphed from the politically incorrect motive, protection against muslims to the politically correct sanctioned bogey man Russia. The power of the globalist propaganda machine are on display…again.

I only mentioned Eastern Europe in case of war with NATO and the Russian military which was made for the harsh and brutal climate of their own homeland is more than enough to take on Sweden it isn’t even a contest. Russia has enough strategic missiles alone to submit Sweden into submission. It’s not even a contest.

Has anyone here looked at a map of Europe to see the location of Sweden relative to Russia? In order to invade Sweden, they would have to go through Finland or launch a huge flotilla of ships on the Baltic Sea. Sounds to me like the Swedish military is using fear mongering to get a budget increase.

I see your point. Involve the nukes and that is certainly true. As a practical matter its difficult to imagine a scenario where that would occur. I was looking at it from a strictly logistical point of view. How exactly do the Russians get there? Through finland, or by sea, and in what kind of numbers with what equipment (what is their sea lift capability) and what is the supply line? and of course for what purpose? Again what is there to gain? Putin is a pragmatist not ideological I think he was fight a war only for specific realistic gains.

Now hold on a sec, in no way did I mention nukes being used. Strategic missiles can also fall under the category of cruise missiles, Iskanders, etc. Russia has the navy and air force to cripple and blockade Sweden so an invasion doesn’t even have to happen. Striking the Swedish capital alone will crash their economy and markets but Sweden is of no interest to Russia and never will.

In regards to Ukraine, only the Eastern portion matters as that’s where the majority of the countries industry and naval bases are located.

Well before the break up of the Soviet Uniion they had several naval base around the Baltic.

They still have one at Kaliningrad Oblast. I doubt however tehy wnat to invade Sweden.
