When you point out contradictions and all the stuff that doesn’t make any sense it only p~~~es people off.
Well then please your neigbor and get married. Thats the “christian” way you know.
Contradictions dont make any sence?
Whatever you “christians”
You are so christian sucking up to your neighbor. Just like Jesus was sucking up to everyone 😀When you point out contradictions and all the stuff that doesn’t make any sense it only p~~~es people off.

You are so christian sucking up to your neighbor. Just like Jesus was sucking up to everyoneMy neighbour knows that I’m not religious. There’s no ‘up-side’ to countering his beliefs. I already know that he’s not going to change or rethink what he believes despite any rational or logical argument that I might give him. It will only generate animosity and that is something I don’t want to do with a neighbour.
What you call “sucking-up” I call picking my battles…
When you point out contradictions and all the stuff that doesn’t make any sense it only p~~~es people off.
You said I dont make any sence….I quoted the bible!
If you are only looking for a way to handle this guy, then ask the question differently. He has no idea about the bible and so do you.
If you want to get along with that guy ok. But dont come with asking for christian opinion when its all written down and then say it doesnt make sence whats in the bible!

You said I dont make any sence. I quoted the bible and its a clear now what is written.
If you are only looking for a way to handle this guy, then ask the question differently. He has no idea about the bible and so do you.
The bible in general (to me) doesn’t make sense. Religion (to me) just doesn’t make any sense. I’m not trying to “handle this guy”. I’m just not inclined to get all adversarial with him over it. To do so would be pointless.
I know from previous experiences that when I point out something in the bible that’s profoundly ridiculous or patently absurd, I’m told that I’m just not ‘interpreting’ it properly.
It’s just the type of conversation that I’m not really too interested in having…

well get married or call him out on this BS. If he wants to agree with Christ, he is supposed to leave you alone with that decision.
LET HIM ( you ) DO IT.

well get married or call him out on this BS. If he was following Christ as you can see from what I quoted from the Bible, he is supposed to leave you alone with that decision.
No. I’m not going to “call him out on his BS”. You and him both read the same bible and yet you each have your own ‘interpretation’ of what it’s telling you. I can only suspect that that might be due to the contradictory nature of the book itself.
I mean I’m interested in hearing what each of you might have to say. For me it’s kinda entertaining to hear all the different opinions, but I’m not going get into a big debate over it with him. It’s just not worth the animosity that it could generate between us…

“You and him both read the same bible and yet you each have your own ‘interpretation’ of what it’s telling you.”
I read the bible and your friend is a christian.
Im not interpreting the bible I only have the passages in the back of my head that fit here… and quoted them. Its self-explanatory what I quoted.
Anonymous42If BOTH the husband and the wife are strong and devote Christians then why wouldn’t a marriage be a safe bet?
Are you saying that we can’t trust the Christian woman to behave IAW God’s word???
One word, BACKSLIDE. No one can control free will, not even god. Women are rewarded for ill choices while men have no choice or say in the unholy matrimony of woman to state. Christianity is at odds with modern Pagan law.
God also made clear that although he has a plan for someone’s life they are not obliged to follow his plan because people have free will. People can choose to reject God, His laws, His strictures, His plan. This is what women have wrought. They reject his plan, they reject his authority, they reject and repudiate his laws. Under those circumstances marriage CANNOT work.
The lord thy God shall not be mocked, I think MGTOW is a place of refuge to escape all the mockery as well as all the flames sweeping over a society that has written mockery laws.
I’m giving Pete a plus 100. I agree with Pete. I wish I was as eloquent with words.
Hey Blacque Jacque Shellacque, you may not be as eloquent as you like but you have the heart of Paul Bunion and that goes without words…
The bible has two testaments!?!
AD and BC. Our entire timescale is based on it, the year 0 is Christmas Day at the start of year one.
If your friend claims to be christian, then confront him with this.
Matthew 6:1-18
Concerning Almsgiving
6‘Beware of practising your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 ‘So whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. 3But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.*
Concerning Prayer
‘And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.*
‘When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Concerning Fasting
16 ‘And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. 17But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
A-men German Truther, you know the books!
My wife turned into a “Devout Christian Women” sometime after marriage, and what a train wreck she has become. One moment she’s spouting God this and God that, and then the next she says to me, “Don’t tell me what to do !!”
For all the religion she swallows on a daily basis one would think it would make her into a “loving Wife and Mother”, but it has only turned into a more narrow minded hateful bitch on all fronts.
If I ever get involved with another women for more then 20 minutes, she will have to be non-religious.
Case in point, women are NOT obedient to the men, they desire to master men outside of natural and supernatural law. Same ole same ole since the day the flaming swords blocked the Garden of Eden forever, and now It’s man’s turn to put up the flaming swords!
No. I’m not going to “call him out on his BS”. You and him both read the same bible and yet you each have your own ‘interpretation’ of what it’s telling you. I can only suspect that that might be due to the contradictory nature of the book itself.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of god.
It’s not the book that creates anomalies but rather man is the anomaly as each of contradict perfection from the scars of sin we each wear, no two scars are alike. Even Jesus didn’t get out without some pretty nasty scars!
BROTHERS:
The Bible is full of internal contradictions… The forgotten founding father of the United States, Thomas Paine, over 200 years ago wrote a book titled: THE AGE OF REASON. He was a Diest, NOT a “dirty little atheist” which is what President Theodore Roosevelt called him. Paine’s Book listed the internal and external contradictions and absurdities of the Old and New Testaments (the Bible). My favorite verse in the original Hebrew, is Isaiah 45:7. It states, that God created calamity and evil. So, when will this imaginary God repent and apologize for creating evil, as well as suffering which humans and animals experience? He doesn’t even sound very creative.
HOMBRE
I’m a Christian. I do believe that if a woman fears, worships, and obeys God that she will make a good wife. I also have a solution.
If she claims to be a devout Christian, then tell her if she wants to be married, that she’ll marry you in a “common law” fashion, through the church, and without any government permission slips (marriage license).
A true Christian woman will have no problems doing so, as she will believe and uphold those vows made by you and to God without question.
Some c~~~ harpy claiming to be a born-again will lose her f~~~ing mind at the mention of this idea. Guaran-damn-tee it. Because it doesn’t allow her access to your resources, nor provide her with the means to legally blackmail you in future.
Disclaimer: This is highly dependent on individual state laws and how they view common law marriage. Some do not recognize it at all (your best bet). Some treat it as a legal marriage, along with some other co-habilitation prerequisites (why not just tie the noose yourself in that case).
Women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women. But I do deny them my essence.
My favorite verse in the original Hebrew, is Isaiah 45:7. It states, that God created calamity and evil. So, when will this imaginary God repent and apologize for creating evil, as well as suffering which humans and animals experience?
You just know that they’re going to tell you that it doesn’t really mean exactly what it says. They’ll say that you’re just reading wrong. They will tell you that “Calamity and Evil” means something totally different than what you think it means.
It works like this… https://www.puritanboard.com/threads/evil-or-calamity.42702/

If you want to get along with that guy ok. But dont come with asking for christian opinion when its all written down and then say it doesnt make sence whats in the bible!
No point in confronting the guy. First off, Christians are fully programmed to resist anyone who questions them and their interpretation of the church. Christianity has nothing to do with scripture, as your bible verses point out from the Sermon on the Mount. So the point is lost on the neighbor from the start anyway.
Second, people in general don’t like to be told they’re wrong. They may agree with you, but they’ll secretly hate you. People are people.
If the guy is 84, then basically he has learned to keep his mouth shut around his wife and go along to get along. I have seen this type before. There comes a point where you are either going to divorce your wife or throw in the towel, and a lot of the older generation just threw in the towel, not like the Gen-Xers who divorce or opt out.
HolyS~~~… SANDALS. YOU ARE so very damn correct… in 2014 I was at a 50th class reunion … I went out to a restaurant with about 20 of my former classmates. ….Getting out of a fundamentalist religion: all bowed their head, praying to God, and thanked for their food. I had not seen that since my dad was alive 20 years earlier. I asked them: ” did any of you get out of this religion?” They were totally FKin clueless about my question… there is a very interesting book titled: the God delusion by the biologist Richard Dawkins. In it, he says there was a survey done in The UK about how many people raised in a fundamentalist religion got out .. only 12% got out!! I am one of the 12! ?
According to Richard Dawkins, author of: the God delusion, only 12% of people, and this is in the UK, Get free of God beliefs … I am assuming it might be seven or 8% here in the USA. You Christrs/MGTOW guys, must seriously run away from the preachers who told you that non-Christians would burn forever in an eternal hell …. my dear brothers look up the four different Hebrew and Greek words that were translated into “hell”.buy Strong’s exhaustive Bible concordance!…. grow up you little boys… this is all the real life you really get!!!

I agree, but isnt that exactly how we got into the situation?
I prefer asking questions and then let people realize something while they are explaining themselves. I dont need to tell them they are wrong to bring my point across.
I asked them: ” did any of you get out of this religion?” They were totally FKin clueless about my question…
Many folks are unable to comprehend living without religion. I had a co-worker say to me once “you just gotta believe in somethin'”! It seems to be a somewhat common misconception that everyone must have some sort of belief.
There’s a good monologue by the comedian/actress Julia Sweeney called “Letting Go Of God”.
She talks about having being raised a in a strict Catholic environment but how eventually reality just slowly creeped in and opened her eyes. It’s the best account of that type of journey that I’ve ever heard.
She’s pretty funny too so whether you agree with her or not it’s worth a listen…

Anonymous1Well then please your neigbor and get married. Thats the “christian” way you know.
lol
I am a Christian. Although not as studied in the text of the good book as one might hope… Here goes.
within the confines of a true Christian marriage, I think this is when you have the very best chance for success. Better odds than the girl you pick up at the bar Id wager.
If you were to do this, I would avoid the single mothers like the seven plagues. <–(see what I did there?) Im sure you understand why.
I used to be a Christian so here is my take on this.
In most Christian churches there is no strict teaching of the bible where it teaches women to submit to men and women to shut the f~~~ up in churches plus there is no legal protection for men in marriages so marriage is pointless even if you believe in God.
Because how the f~~~ can a man tell if a woman is a true Christian woman over an actress looking to get a providers income?
Plus churches do not give 2 s~~~s about men since they tell them to respect women and push them to marry and have kids to keep their congregations going. It does not matter who men marry but what matters is if they can brainwash future members into being gentleman who follow the same thing their parents did.
Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.
so marriage is pointless even if you believe in God.
Because how the f~~~ can a man tell if a woman is a true Christian woman over an actress looking to get a providers income?
Yeah, that seems to be the gist of many of the replies. Many thanks guys. You’ve answered my questions…
