I gave Sparky all the links he needs to fix his s~~~. Twice. Talked to him for probably 50 hours on Zoom over 6 months.

links to get a better car, links to get a better job, links to the local AA, links to an astronomy club, links to find a probono divorce lawyer and links to local psychiatric help. If he wanted to fix his s~~~, he could have made phone calls to all these things in a morning.

Unfortunately, from what i can see, this forum, aka “the internet” is what keeps Sparky connected to his Laptop or his Wifi.
If that is somewhat accurate, the fact that he even has an account here gives him a reason to not leave the house.

Appendicitis went well.

I did some volunteer rehab work yrs ago at a homeless shelter. Most, heck all of them were homeless because of drug or alcohol issues. I got so frustrated trying to help them because none of them would improve their situation. The “Shelter” was just a regular stop on the path of life they chose to live. I got upset when a young Black gentleman who seemed quite intelligent and polite OD’ed out on the street. Another volunteer came and told me: They aren’t going to change until THEY REALLY WANT TO CHANGE. The meaning was that I will never make them change; the decision is theirs alone! “IF IT’S GOING TO BE: IT’S UP TO ME !”

I agree with General, however May is right. Weve done everything for Sparky, including getting him to fill out job applications among other stuff. Weve done everything BUT chew his food for him. He says hes now leaving (dont believe he really is), but telling any dude to kill himself thats not an arsehole is not needed.

If youre trying the toigh love thing, its not gonna work with Sparky. Unfortunately, I dont think anything is going to work with him. Just prayer, I guess.
