Even if we can’t help Sparky, writing this thread will/might surely save some lurker’s life over the course of time.
That’s why if it would ever come to the point of having to sort through 30 k threads, I would give this a more descriptive name and save it in a self-help-advice section.

The strategy would be to deflect him from drinks nr. x to infinity… And hoping that he will get so busy doing whatever and forgets drinking over it.

There’s an AA meeting tonight at 7pm at the First Presbyterian Church on 620 State St. Go to that meeting.
The East Tennessee Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous says there are over 100 AA groups in and around Knoxville. They meet at all hours of every day. There are groups for vets, groups for men only, groups for those working odd hours, groups for anyone at all. Their website is here: http://www.etiaa.org

You can’t go on like this and I’m not talking about posting on this forum. You will eventually harm or kill yourself while drunk. More importantly, you will eventually harm or kill either the little dog you claim to love or another human being while drunk. You’re a danger to yourself and others. If the danger to yourself isn’t enough to get you to act, try thinking about the others.
Go to that meeting tonight. You don’t need to talk, you don’t need to introduce yourself, all you need to do is show up.
Monday, you need to call The Mental Health Association of east Tennessee and start the process of changing yourself for the better. Their website is here: http://www.mhaet.com
While I’d like you to do both these things, I don’t think you will. The odds say you’ll die of drink. You’ll set fire to your shack killing yourself and that little dog. Or you’ll cut yourself and bleed out leaving the dog to starve to death. Or you’ll get behind the wheel killing yourself and whomever you hit. The odds aren’t good and I’m paid to play the odds. You can either prove and odds and me liars or you can continue to live your disgusting life until you die.
