Post Soviet country of Georgia is about to implement a Bachelor’s Database to “fight low birthrate”. My opinion is that it’s a first step to implement a bachelor’s tax. Any opinions ?.

I see a Bachelor Tax coming

Innumerable covert bachelor taxes already exist, as does discrimination in employment, housing, medical care, the courts, and many other aspects of daily life.

The proposed Georgian initiative is allegedly a national database of all people who aren’t currently married and so will include both sexes, singles, divorcees, widows, widowers, etc. It seems it will be sort of an OKCupid on steroids in which Big Brother fills out your profile whether you want it or not.

I’ll point out that Japan is seriously considering a similar program so it’s a global idea.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

    Government-run matchmaking service LOL
    What could go wrong?? haha
I’m really curious to see what comes out of it.
It might actually work better than some commercial services, since there won’t be any fake profiles or outright lies, and possibly some vetting. They should also look into C~~~FAX technology

I do find extremely creepy when a goverment decides to stick their noses in a citizen lifestyle choices.

Well, it kinda depends on how much information and control ( besides of what they already have ) about your intimate life you want the goverment to have.

    Yet another red herring.

The elites that run the governments aren’t that stupid. They know exactly what is causing low birth rates, because they have intentionally driven society to this point. It was entirely by their design.

They want a national database to track people. Sure they’ll say it’s for birth rate and it’s to track only singles, but everyone starts out single right? They will just not bother taking you off that database if you do get married, after all you could get divorced and then be single again, right?

They’re not even trying anymore. They don’t feel like they have to hide what they’re doing because they rightly understand that people are stupid and won’t fight them. All they have to do is change a few words around and the average imbecile eats it up.

    Who doesn’t?

You must remember it’s governments we’re talking about. Hordes of nameless, faceless, and interchangeable paper pushers, filing cabinet commandos, form fillers, and rubber stamp wielders all just doing their jobs as part of a mindless perpetual motion machine which chews up individuals and spits them out.

Here’s a phrase you should remember whenever dealing with a bureaucracy or government: The Banality of Evil.

It refers to monstrous horrors humans throughout history have blithely inflicted while just doing their jobs.

All those people dropping Zyklon in the showers, burning down villages, passing out smallpox blankets, napalming schools, passing out machetes, and all the rest are very rarely some Hollywood cartoon villain cackling and leering while twirling their mustache and cape. Instead, they’re everyday schmucks who’ve put their brain on autopilot while “just doing their job”.

Oh, it could get far worse if Rome is any indicator for example:

“The disabilities imposed on unmarried men included social devaluations. Unmarried men were forbidden to attend public games and banquets. Unmarried men were also forced to sit in less desirable seats in the theatre.[2] These sorts of laws point to broader processes of social control. Social strategies of shaming and dishonoring have powerfully affected men’s lives throughout history.[3] The status of men in any society cannot be adequately understood merely by literal reading of formal law and simple demographic analysis of office-holding.

Coercing men into marrying is not a historical aberration. In his ideal state, Cicero had state magistrates prohibit men from remaining unmarried.[4] According to Plutarch’s Parallel Lives, Lycurgus, the famous law-giver of the Spartans, penalized bachelors:

Lycurgus also put a kind of public stigma upon confirmed bachelors. They were excluded from the sight of the young men and maidens at their exercises, and in winter the magistrates ordered them to march round the market-place in their tunics only, and as they marched, they sang a certain song about themselves, and its burden was that they were justly punished for disobeying the laws. Besides this, they were deprived of the honour and gracious attentions which the young men habitually paid to their elders. [5]

In his Roman History, Cassius Dio wrote of Emperor Augustus separating the Roman aristocracy into married men and unmarried men. The married men were “much fewer in number.” Augustus praised the married men for following the examples of their fathers and perpetuating their class. Augustus demeaned the unmarried men:

O — what shall I call you? Men? But you are not performing any of the offices of men. Citizens? But for all that you are doing, the city is perishing. Romans? But you are undertaking to blot out this name altogether.
Augustus described unmarried men as worse than murders and robbers. Unmarried men, according to Augustus, were immoral beasts:

You talk, indeed, about this ‘free’ and ‘untrammelled’ life that you have adopted, without wives and without children; but you are not a whit better than brigands or the most savage of beasts. For surely it is not your delight in a solitary existence that leads you to live without wives, nor is there one of you who either eats alone or sleeps alone; no, what you want is to have full liberty for wantonness and licentiousness. [6] ”

Time to become a criminal. If you are a criminal then no woman would want you anyway. Screw their database.

Women's brains and vagina have one thing in common. There is nothing in there until a man puts something in there.

Being a seasoned criminal is actually admired and respected among both men and women over there, so it would backfire big time

I just can’t see how reimplementing such strategy would provide any benefit in the current context. If anything, I believe it would only worse the current situation, catalyzing a political-economical societal collapse. More so if, under such circumstances an emigration wave is developed.

I’m guessing there’s going to be mandatory military service unless you’re married. Maybe they have that already and I’m wrong.

This will eventually happen in western cultures, I believe Georgia is a testing ground for the elites to see how they can manipulate society even more. In Canada they already starting mailing out the long census forms the previous conservative government scrapped it but the new Liberals brought it back. I got mine today in the mail and it says :

“By law, your household must complete a census questionnaire. Your answers are collected under the authority of the Statistics Act and will be kept strictly confidential.”

“The information that you provide may be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes or may be combined with other survey or administrative data sources.”

Citizens who refuse to participate in providing information, or who provide false information, have committed an offence under the Statistics Act under c. S-19:

…information collected under the authority of the Statistics Act, R.S.C. 1985…and must be provided by law.

Refusal to provide information: …are liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or/and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months.

    “Voluntary surveys

    source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics_Act

This information is used not only by government but by corporations as well we would be fools to think otherwise. I wonder what they do to those who live off the grid completely.

Perhaps but I don’t think Manginas and white knights are known for self determination. That and they are often ensalved to authoritarianism. When the authority in their lives makes it illegal to be single, they may just decide to follow and not defy the status quo by thinking. It might be the final nail in the coffin. I refer you to the milgram experiment.

That’s the problem. It doesn’t make sense. Besides, the weird thing is that, usually most goverments try to fix the replacement ratio through cultural suicide a.k.a. mass inmigration ( Canada is actually quite a good example of that ), useless “monetary incentives” ( like in Japan ) or social engieneering ( like in South Korea ). So the idea is either too ridiculous or too frightening.

But a recent government census suggests the DDF’s prediction of impending catastrophe may be a little alarmist: data revealed as of 1 January 2015 estimated Georgia’s population was 3,729,635, a decrease 14.7% since 2002.

A low birthrate isn’t causing that population collapse, and no database or bulls~~~ matchmaking scam will fix it. Maybe Georgia should look into why so much of its population is leaving / dying / being annexed by Russia.

nor is there one of you who either eats alone or sleeps alone; no, what you want is to have full liberty for wantonness and licentiousness.

Awww yeah! Sounds good to me.

If the phenomenon of chinese women moving from mainland China to Hong Kong after if returned to China because of hypergamy is any indication, it wouldn’t be unplausible con consider that given the economic situation in Ukraine and Georgia, young women might be moving to Russia ( or North America or Australia , etc ) in order to marry up.

While Augustuse’s description was made as such, it needs to be remembered that the context, timeline
and reasons were different from today. Roman armies/legions always needed fresh meat for the meat grinder
as the colonies were not always able to supply full quotas of foreign soldiery to fill the ranks.
So it was expected for males up to 45 to be a soldier with a wife and kids to keep up the population growth of true Roman soldiers. So this was a clear case of forcing males to contribute to population growth
while in more modern times it will simply be a database for single men to be taxed to start with.
